Chapter 1039: Kissing Her

For all these years, Lu Jinwen had played the role of a father and an elder brother and Lu Yan had the most respect for him.

“Uncle Jin, thank you.” Lu Yan smiled.

Lu Jinwen nodded his head.

“Mom.” Tang Mo’er held Lin Xuanji’s hand, asking concernedly, “How are you doing recently?”

Lin Xuanji wore a white cheongsam with subtle, gold thread detailing. The prime of her youth had already passed, now she had become even more gentle with her age and had settled so finely, like a cup of tea with a wonderful aftertaste that was reminiscent of memories of the past.

She didn’t seem to have aged at all, not even a fine line appeared on her face. Her signature style was cheongsams now, women at her age truly pulled off cheongsams the best.

No matter what phase of life she was in, Lin Xuanji was simply charming and undeniably attractive.

As Lin Xuanji looked at Little Yan and Little An’an in the cots, the corners of her lips kicked up. Little Yan and Little An’an were both adorable.

Little An’an was sleeping and she was so angelic, while Little Yan was already full of energy. Since he had come out from An’an’s stomach, Little Yan hadn’t closed his eyes once. He looked around with bright eyes filled with curiosity, he would totally roll around if he could move freely. He seemed to have inherited his father’s characteristics.

Lin Xuanji looked at the babies for quite some time before her gaze riveted on Tang Mo’er. “Mo’er, Mom’s fine.”

She had lived for another year.

12 months, month after month, it was hard to believe she was still alive. It was probably a miracle.

Lu Jinwen walked over, holding Lin Xuanji’s slim waist perfectly naturally. “Mo’er, your mom can’t come outside for too long. We’ll head back home now.”

The maid opened the door and Lin Xuanji stepped inside.

“Grandma!”

But she hadn’t fallen onto the ground. A large hand was around her waist, she fell into a broad chest. Lu Jinwen held onto her waist from behind, supporting her up.

“Niuniu, why aren’t you behaving?” Lu Jinwen lowered his eyes, looking at little Gu Yelin sternly.

Little Gu Yelin scratched his head guiltily. Though he did like grandpa a lot, he was also really afraid of him at the same time.

At 50 years old, he was a mature man. His age, power, wealth and status had served to add to his charms. One look from Lu Jinwen now was goosebump-inducing, if not intimidating.

Little Gu Yelin definitely wasn’t able to take this mature masculinity his grandpa exuded.

He was afraid.

“Grandpa, Grandma, I didn’t do it on purpose. I’m sorry,” little Gu Yelin apologized.

Lin Xuanji moved a little, flinging Lu Jinwen’s arm away. She glanced at him with the corner of her eye. “Niuniu is still small, why are you being so stern?”

Lin Xuanji truly indulged little Gu Yelin with her love and doting.

“Niuniu, come here, let’s go upstairs. Grandma bought you many new toys, let’s go play with them.” Lin Xuanji took little Gu Yelin’s hand, heading upstairs together.

As they left, Lu Jinwen stood at the entryway and a maid bent down, changing his shoes for him. His gaze was fixed on Lin Xuanji, watching her back view. They both weren’t young anymore, but she didn’t seem to have changed at all.

The cheongsam had a perfect cut, accentuating her curvaceous figure. Her waist was thin and her hips curvy. When she walked, her hips swayed and she was so feminine.

He wore the slippers, walking into the living room and he sat on the couch.

Taking out his phone, he dialed a number.

“Sir, what would you like to drink?” A maid walked over and asked.

Even as she spoke, the maid blushed and she didn’t dare to lift her head to look at Lu Jinwen. At 50 years old, he exuded the very charm of a mature man and was the epitome of refinement. He made one blush once they saw him.

Not even sparing the maid a glance, Lu Jinwen ordered, “You may leave.”

“Yes, Sir.”

The maid quickly left.

The phone call was picked up. It was Butler Ye on the other end. “Hello, Sir.”

“Update me on the matter,” Lu Jinwen said.

“Sir, we’ve found the family, they are quite an established family and matters have gotten sticky. That family doesn’t agree to the heart donation. We’ve tried to contact them a few times and now they’ve become wary of us.”

Among the sea of people, they finally had some news of a heart that matched Xuanji.

However, that family didn’t agree to it.

Lu Jinwen didn’t have much of an expression on his face. He was determined to get that heart.

“Send me that family’s personal particulars.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Lu Jinwen hung up the phone call, putting his phone back in his pocket. He got up and went upstairs.

In the room upstairs. Lin Xuanji was playing with little Gu Yelin.

Lu Jinwen held a bowl of chinese medicine in his hands. “Xuanji, it’s time for you to drink your medicine.”

Lin Xuanji had been taking chinese medicine every single day for the past year. She knew that he had done everything he could to keep her alive in this world.

His entire medical team had been researching new medicine and finding ways to fight her heart failure. He was wealthy and resourceful and that had helped extend her life for a year.

“Niuniu, go and have fun by yourself. It’s time for Grandma to drink her medicine.”

Lin Xuanji stepped into the balcony, stretching her hands out to take the bowl from Lu Jinwen.

But he didn’t pass it to her. “Pinch your nose.”

The medicine was too bitter for her, she had to pinch her nose every single time to be able to stomach it.

“Mm.”

As Lu Jinwen brought the bowl of medicine to her lips and fed her personally, Lin Xuanji pinched her nose and drank the chinese medicine in one gulp. She didn’t dare stop, lest she puke it out.

After drinking it, the bitter aftertaste stayed in her mouth. Almost immediately, Lu Jinwen took out a sweet from his pocket, opening the packaging and putting it in her mouth.

The sweetness dispersed through her mouth, soothing away the bitterness. It was only after eating it that Lin Xuanji felt better.

“Is it sweet?” Lu Jinwen asked.

“It’s sweet.” Lin Xuanji nodded. “I’ll head inside to accompany Niuniu.”

She wanted to leave.

But a muscular arm appeared, grasping her wrist and pushing her against the railing. Supporting himself with both arms on the railings, he sandwiched her between himself and the railings.

Lu Jinwen bent over, kissing her on the lips. His tongue made it through her teeth, intertwining it with hers while tasting the sweet altogether.

Lin Xuanji lifted her arm, pushing him away but she accidentally touched his pocket. There were a few more sweets inside, he had specially prepared them for her.

Because of her, he always brought a few sweets around with him everyday.
