“Madam General, we’re entering the delivery suite now. There can only be one other person in the suite, would you like General or your mother to come in?” the doctor asked.

Lu Yan bent over, lifting An’an up. A nurse said, “General, please just leave Madam on the bed. We’ll push her into the delivery suite.”

“There’s no need, I’ll just carry her in.” Lu Yan held An’an in his arms, striding towards the delivery suite.

An’an was pregnant with twins and her bump was huge. She had been well taken care of and took in a lot of nutrients, gaining 30 pounds over the course of nine months. She hadn’t even reached 90 pounds in the past, and she was already 120 pounds now.

But Lu Yan lifted her up in a breeze, holding her in his muscular arms, displaying such husbandly qualities. When they saw the General carry his wife into the delivery suite in such a way, those unwed nurses all blushed witnessing the scene.

“An’an.” Huo Yanmei went in front. “Let Mom accompany you into the delivery suite.”

An’an looked at Lu Yan’s cold, handsome face. He had taken the day off to accompany An’an into labor. But he had been caught up with work only till her cervix dilated then he rushed over, still dressed in his uniform.

He rolled his sleeves up, his gold epaulets shiny.

An’an’s face turned red, she whispered, “Mom, I’d like Ah Yan to accompany me.”

Huo Yanmei knew that they loved each other so much and couldn’t bear to be apart, but Huo Yanmei was experienced with such matters. She said, “An’an, you’re having a natural birth. If Lu Yan follows you in and watches you give birth, it’s going to affect your intimacy in the future.”

Many mothers who went into natural birth faced such problems. To have a man watch them give birth, though it was touching to welcome a new life into this world, it was still bloody and somewhat gruesome looking.

But she really wanted Ah Yan to accompany her.

“Mom, I’ll go in. All of you can wait outside.” Lu Yan said just that, then proceeded to carry An’an into the delivery suite.

With the General giving the order, everyone could only obey and wait outside.

An’an’s contractions were getting worse when the doctor did a check up. “Madam, your cervix has dilated quite a bit, hold in there, you’re going to go into labor very soon.”

It hurt so much that An’an didn’t even have any energy to talk.

“It hurts a lot?”

Lu Yan bent over, placing his calloused palm on her forehead, combing her already-wet fringe as he wiped her face.

He was calm and collected, giving her a strong sense of security as he stood beside her.

“Ah Yan…”

“What’s the matter?”

An’an stretched out her hand, hugging his neck. Lu Yan lowered his head, bringing his ear near her lips.

An’an lowered her volume, afraid that a third person would hear her. “Don’t look below when I give birth later.”

After hearing what her mother said, she was worried about their intimacy being affected.

Lu Yan raised his brows. “It’s not like I haven’t seen it before.”

Ugh! An’an wanted to hit him.

Lu Yan looked at her puff her cheeks up angrily, yet coyly and the corners of his lips quirked up. “Don’t listen to Mom’s ridiculous theory, you’ll only become even more beautiful in my eyes. Once you’re done with confinement, I’m going to teach you a lesson and you’ll never overthink anymore.”

The doctor and nurses watched as the pair hugged each other, An’an’s hands were hanging over his neck, they were the envy of everyone.

“Madam, your waters have broken and your cervix is ready. Quickly, listen to my counts. One, two, three, push!”

Lu Yan quickly held An’an’s hand. “Don’t be afraid, I’m here for you and the babies.”

“Mm!” An’an started pushing.

Perhaps it was because An’an was young, it seemed easy for her to give birth smoothly. Ten minutes later, the delivery suite was filled with sounds of wailing.

The doctor brought a baby over. “General, we have one out now. Oh, it’s a boy.”

Lu Yan stretched his arms out to take his son. The baby weighed 3.45kg, and after crying once, he looked at Lu Yan with huge, glassy eyes.

Lu Yan’s originally chiseled, cold facial features instantly softened and he beamed. This was his son his flesh and blood.

He stuck a calloused finger out to poke his son’s cheek. “What are you looking at? Call Daddy now!”

The doctor and nurses burst out laughing. “General, the baby can’t talk yet.”

Lu Yan turned around, bringing the baby in front of An’an. “Wife, look, you gave birth to our son.”

An’an’s body was soaked, she lay on the bed while looking at their son. Great, they had a Little Yan now.

Little Yan’s Daddy is the General. Now Daddy could bring Little Yan everywhere to practice gunnery and archery.

An’an started having contractions again. “Madam, the other baby is coming out too. You have to continue to push.”

The second baby came out in just five minutes, the wailing sounded more tender. The doctor was surprised as he announced, “General, it’s a girl. Congratulations, General. You have a son and daughter, you’re really mighty.”

An’an lay back on the bed, totally exhausted after giving birth. Ahh it was so great, now there was a Little An’an too!

Lu Yan placed his son down beside An’an, heading over to hold Little An in his arms. The sun rays beamed down on him through the windows, making him appear golden. He had a son and daughter.

His life was complete, he was so content he could hardly contain himself.

Lu Yan placed his daughter down beside An’an too, bending over to plant a kiss on his forehead. He shouted with a husky voice, “Wife, you’re the best! You make me so proud!”

An’an had a tired, yet blissful smile on her face. The heavens really treated them well, they had a son and daughter in one go.

The twins were carried out of the delivery suite and placed in two separate cots. Tang Mo’er and Lin Shiyu looked at the babies, filled with envy. How did An’an even give birth to such adorable babies?

Huo Yanmei also came to look at the babies and she teared up. She had become a grandmother of two adorable angels.

They suddenly heard some footsteps along the corridor. Tang Mo’er lifted her eyes to see. When she realized who it was, she spoke, “Dad, Mom, why are you two here?”

Lu Jinwen and Lin Xuanji had come.

Lu Yan was accompanying An’an and when he saw Lu Jinwen, he quickly got up and greeted, “Uncle Jin.”

Lu Jinwen walked over. He wore a black shirt with trousers, his entire look lowkey yet enigmatic. Lu Yan hadn’t seen him in six months, but he hadn’t seemed to age even a bit. Lu Jinwen arrived beside Lu Yan, patting him on the shoulder. “Ah Yan, congratulations. You have a son and daughter, you’re a father now.”
