Chapter 1003: He Was the Center of Attention, Receiving Everyone’s Admiration

Gu Mohan looked at his foolish sister, the corner of his lips raised. “Someone important is rising through the ranks.”

An’an’s heart palpitated. “Who… is it?”

Gu Mohan shrugged his shoulders. “Let’s just wait and watch the military news tomorrow morning at 8am. A new officer is being conferred, a ceremony will be held soon.”

Lu Yan stood on the step, not going down at all. He had both hands in his pockets, behaving as though there was nothing different, but there he had become… totally different.

Qianqian walked out of the police station. “Blood Eagle, look at Gu An’an, this is the woman you love. She’s already complained about you not having any power and status to protect her.”

Qianqian then stretched her arms out to hold Lu Yan’s muscular arm. “Blood Eagle, I’m the one you should choose. As long as you marry me, I’m able to give you everything–”

Before she could even finish her words, she could sense a piercing gaze on her hand.

Lu Yan had lowered his eyes, glaring at her. Qianqian was so shocked, she let go of his hand, afraid to touch him again.

Lu Yan stretched his legs, going down the stairs with steady footsteps, arriving before the Jeep. A soldier stood beside the Jeep, opening the back door and Lu Yan got in it.

Qianqian was stunned witnessing the scene. What… happened to Lu Yan?

Qianqian took a secret glance at the confidential secretary. The confidential secretary shook his head at Qianqian before rushing over to sit in the passenger’s seat in the Jeep.

The Jeep sped away.

Qianqian’s legs gave way, she collapsed on the ground while gasping for air. She could already make a guess, so she wasn’t able to stop this man after all.

An’an had been taken to Gu Mohan’s villa and she just couldn’t fall asleep at night.

She woke up early in the morning, waiting till 8am. Finally, it was time. She switched on the television.

The military channel. The host reported with fluent mandarin—-General Chen Jin had retired last night. The succeeding General was taking over today, he was the military legend, Blood Eagle.

“Lu Yan, he is known as Blood Eagle. Lu Yan was the overlord of the Capital three years ago. His real identity is not known by many…”

An’an’s ears started buzzing, she could no longer hear anything else. Her entire mind was filled with once voice, Lu Yan had become the General, Lu Yan is the new General!

His identity had finally been made known.

He had finally come out from the darkness.

The cameras panned over and there were many reporters gathered around orderly. They didn’t dare make any sounds, behaving themselves as the place was cordoned off. There was an entire team of armed special forces officers dressed in black. The entire scene was stern and serious.

A bulletproof Jeep drove over, the back window wound down, revealing a familiar face.

It was Lu Yan.

Lu Yan sat in the back seat, wearing a black shirt. He was so suave today.

An’an’s gaze landed on his face, she couldn’t take her eyes off of him. The man who slept beside her just two nights ago had become so unreachable now. She could only see him through the television broadcast.

“An’an.” Tang Mo’er walked over.

An’an quickly grabbed the remote control, switching the television off.

Tang Mo’er smiled. “An’an, what are you trying to hide? Who doesn’t know that Lu Yan is the new General? Everyone’s buzzing in excitement now, he has taken the limelight away from the entertainment industry even.”

“Little sister-in-law, is he really receiving that much attention outside?”

“Totally. All the soldiers in the army are celebrating now. They finally got to see their idol, those socialites in the Capital have gathered into groups to fly over and meet him. Their dream guy hadn’t actually died and even became a high ranking General. They are head over heels for him, all the air tickets have been sold out.”

So it was like that?

An’an had to admit that she felt a little jealous inside. During the period that he concealed his name, he belonged to only her.

But now that he had revealed his identity, he had become the dream guy of those socialites again. It was especially the case in the Capital, many women were rushing over, almost pushing her into a corner.

“Hello, General Lu is currently in a meeting. May I know who this is? I’m General Lu’s secretary, I can pass on the message for you.” It was a sweet, pleasant voice on the other end of the call.

An’an clutched her cell phone tightly. It wasn’t him, but his secretary instead.

Now she couldn’t even reach him by phone.

This was his new secretary? Judging by that voice of hers, his new secretary must be really pretty.

General Chen Jin’s confidential secretary was a male, but his secretary was a pretty, young woman.

An’an didn’t speak, she just hung up the phone call.

She sat on the carpeted ground beside her bed and went in a daze. She huddled up, hugging herself as her lashes lowered in disappointment. Did he not want her anymore?

She hadn’t said those words on purpose that day in the police station. She had only wanted him to leave first.

She pouted her lips aggrievedly, burying her face in her knees.

Two weeks later, Lu Yan’s conferment ceremony had begun.

An’an alighted from the car, arriving in front of the gate. The place was surrounded by a huge crowd, she could see the group of socialites who had rushed over from the Capital. Everyone was looking inside through the gate.

In contrast, An’an stood in an unnoticeable corner. There weren’t many people there and it wasn’t as crowded.

She looked inside, the place was filled with soldiers in their camouflage uniform. The host started speaking, “Let’s invite General Lu on stage.”

Lu Yan was coming out.

The soldiers turned their heads around, looking in front respectfully.

“Wow, Master Yan is coming out!”

The crowd looked over too. An’an stood in the crowd, looking in the same direction as the crowd.

An imposing figure appeared from far away. He was clothed in full dress uniform, his shoulders embellished with three gold stars. First General. He wore a black leather belt around his trim waist. Lu Yan walked over slowly with steady footsteps.

When she saw him appear, An’an started tearing up. She had frequent dreams of him putting on his full dress uniform. He had far exceeded her expectations.

She slowly stretched out her arm, passing through the metal bar of the gate as she extended it outwards. The day finally arrived, he stood among the crowd, being the center of attention, receiving admiration of everyone, receiving the honor he deserved.

She smiled, huge drops of tears trickling down her cheeks so much that they blurred her vision.

She could hardly see him anymore.
