Her skin was still supple and radiant just like many years ago, but she seemed somewhat exhausted when compared to before.

Though they hadn’t spent as many years together than the time they had been apart, time seemed to have passed even slower and it felt even longer than it was supposed to.

He had ruined her, tormenting her till she felt that she was in the deepest realms of hell.

Lu Jinwen’s originally cold gaze turned gentle, he smiled and lowered his volume so that only she could hear it. “Baby, you know the ways to having an easier life. You know how to pleasure me, but you’re not being obedient. You’re always making me angry and you’re aware of the consequences. You know that it’s going to be dire once you make me angry.”

Lin Xuanji didn’t speak, she seemed to have already fallen asleep.

Lu Jinwen hugged her from behind, breathing in the scent emanating from her body and his body started to warm up.

The earlier deed was merely a starter, he hadn’t enjoyed enough yet.

But since she was already asleep, he decided to just let her off once.

The next morning.

Lu Jinwen had woken up late and by the time he opened his eyes, the rays of the sun had already shone down on the bed. He had a good night hugging her to sleep last night.

He reached his hand out to feel her warm body, but he hadn’t felt anything. Lin Xuanji was not there.

Lu Jinwen immediately sat up, lifting his blanket and he quickly got down the bed. He didn’t even have the time to wear his shoes, he ran outside of the bamboo house barefooted.

“Xuanji, Lin Xuanji, where are you? You’d better hurry up and come out!” He shouted loudly.

No one responded.

Lin Xuanji didn’t appear.

“Sir, what’s the matter? What happened?” Butler Ye quickly ran over.

Butler Ye was stunned, that was his first time ever seeing Lu Jinwen in such a disheveled state.

He was still wearing the same pajamas from yesterday, it was loosely tied up and half of his chest was revealed. He wasn’t wearing any shoes and ran around barefoot. His feet were dirty because of the rocky and filthy path outside the bamboo house.

As he was screaming a woman’s name and running around in a disheveled state, it made him seemed rather pathetic.

“Sir…”

Lu Jinwen grabbed Butler Ye’s collar and his gaze was menacing. “Lin Xuanji, where’s Lin Xuanji? Have you seen her?”

“Sir, we haven’t seen Madam Xuanji. Is Madam Xuanji missing?” Butler Ye asked.

Was Madam Xuanji missing?

Lin Xuanji had disappeared.

Those words resounded in Lu Jinwen’s ears over and over again. he let go of Butler Ye’s collar and scanned the surroundings. There wasn’t anyone there, and he didn’t manage to find the figure he was looking for.

Was she gone?

Did she leave him again?

Lu Jinwen’s eyes were bloodshot, he felt as though someone had clenched onto his heart forcefully, it hurt.

It was really painful.

The pain was making him lightheaded, he couldn’t tolerate it.

He had just found her, they had only spent one night together and after he opened his eyes in the morning, she was missing again.

He could never afford to lose her again.

He really couldn’t.

But a sensual voice suddenly resounded in his ears. “Lu Jinwen, are you looking for me?”

Lu Jinwen lifted his eyes. In front, at the Passion River, a graceful figure was standing there. Her dress billowed out around her and she was stunning.

Lin Xuanji.

Lin Xuanji stood there, her lustrous eyes on his chiseled features. “You thought that I’d escaped? How is that even possible, there’s no way for me to escape now.”

Lu Jinwen gasped, he could finally hear his heart beating again. He was salvaged.

He walked over in her direction and sounded displeased. “Come over, it’s very chilly outside.”

It was winter and she had run outside wearing just a red dress. What if she fell sick?

Seeing Lu Jinwen come closer, Lin Xuanji took a few steps backwards and she pouted her lips. “I just came outside to take a breather and touch some water.”

She then stretched her leg out, entering the Passion River.

—-The Passion River is the holy water in Miao Jiang. As the name suggests, the Passion River would destroy the skin of a person, who is in love with someone else, as if it were acid just by a mere drop.

—-The Passion Water would be as harmless as normal water should it touch a person who does not love anyone.

Lu Jinwen recalled Meng Lu’s words. He gaped at Lin Xuanji’s foot, she was about to enter the Passion River. He shouted, “Lin Xuanji!”

One of her legs had already landed in the Passion River, she started kicking her ankle around to make the water splash.

Lu Jinwen’s pupils dilated with horror, he stared at her foot. It was unaffected by the waters.

His gaze riveted on her face. She wasn’t burned by the waters at all. Oh, it turned out she really didn’t have any romantic feelings for anyone.

She no longer loved him.

She really didn’t have any feelings for him anymore.

He had depleted all the love she once had for him. She was still her, but she wasn’t the same as before, she no longer loved him as she had before.

Lu Jinwen walked in front, stopping in front of the Passion River.
