He then turned around and prepared to leave.

“Brother Qinglun,” Rong’rong quickly stretched out her arm and held onto Fu Qinglun’s hand, “Don’t be dispirited, I’ve already spoken to Mom, she has agreed to ask you back for dinner tomorrow night after her discharge.”

Right after she finished saying that, footsteps could be heard. Fu Qinglun lifted his eyes and a lithe figure appeared in front of his eyes.

It was Lin Shiyu.

She wore a white chiffon blouse and the straps in front were loosely tied up into a bow. Together with her sequined long skirt and her wavy hair that was tied into a ponytail, she was emanating a cold yet feminine aura.

She wasn’t flashy but her beauty could be easily spotted, one couldn’t take their eyes off her beauty.

Lin Shiyu slowed down, her gaze landing on Fu Qinglun, and the hand that Rong’rong was holding onto.

Fu Qinglun fixed his gaze on Lin Shiyu, as though he hadn’t seen her in a very long time.

He remained calm and collected, retracting his hand from Rong’rong and walked in front. He stopped in front of Lin Shiyu and asked, “Why are you here?”

His voice was slightly hoarse.

Lin Shiyu replied with composure, “I’m here to visit Madam Fu.”

“Mom is feeling better, she’s due for discharge tomorrow. It’s already late now, you should head back.”

Fu Qinglun added on, “I’ll take you home.”

Lin Shiyu looked in his eyes, he had hidden away all of his distress and no one could tell what he was going through. His shoulders and chest were still firm and strong but she could sense something… were his eyes bloodshot because… he was tired?

Everyone was waiting to watch the drama, to see if he is able to protect the Fu Corporation, to see if he would be forsaken by the Fu family. But everyone had forgotten, that he was actually innocent too.

He didn’t choose to land himself in such a situation. He had no choice in shouldering the responsibilities of the Fu family. If he were to be given a choice, he probably would have been better off just being an orphan.

Lin Shiyu looked at him with tenderness in her eyes. She spoke up, “I…”

“Brother Qinglun,” Rong’rong suddenly started speaking, “Brother Qinglun, you can’t leave yet. Mom’s health report is still with the doctor, you need to head over and get it from doctor later.”

Lin Shiyu stopped walking, she heard a deep voice resound in her ears. He sounded gentle, and at the same time, it was like he was pleading with her. “Shi’shi, I really want to take you home, could you wait for me for a little while?”

Could she wait for him for a little while?

He would handle it quickly and be back in just a little while.
