Huo Beichen stretched out his legs and kicked the butler, ordering him, “What are you still standing around for? Tang Mo’er is missing. Go and find her!”

“Yes, Young Master.”

The butler escaped away in cold sweat. He wanted to apply for a transfer back to the Huo’s old house, this dictator was too difficult to serve.

“Second Brother, don’t panic. I’ve already ordered them to find her. Tang Mo’er can’t escape. You must have overdone it last night…”

Huo Beichen voice came to an abrupt end as Gu Mohan gave him a cold, sharp stare.

Tang Mo’er was sitting at the corner of the balcony, her two arms hugging her knees in a child-like position. Her eyes were closed and she was sleeping soundly.

The window had a small opening. The cold wind outside had blown against her silky hair and the ends of her skirt swayed along with the wind. She seemed so empty and otherworldly, like an ethereal presence that no one would be able to get a grip on.

Just like dark hands had pressed against his heart and twisted, Gu Mohan felt a heartwrenching pain at such a sight. Every breath he took ached and left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Stretching out his hands, he lifted her up gently.

Tang Mo’er, who was in his arms, opened her eyes slowly. Her eyes were crystal clear with no tears. However, they were not as radiant as usual. Just like a broken rag doll, it made his heart ache when they saw her in such a state.

“You have a bed, but you chose to sleep on the balcony, hm?” Gu Mohan whispered.

“I can’t sleep when you’re holding me.”

She murmured a few words, her face blank. Gu Mohan stopped in his tracks and curled his extremely dry lips. Was she going to reject him just like that?

She couldn’t sleep when he was carrying her, or when he was holding her.

Gu Mohan looked at the pale and sick face in his arms and replied immediately, “No.”

Tang Mo’er laughed, “I’m only informing you about our break up. My dad is coming to pick me up.”
