Cedric invited Max and his mother to join them at the hotel.
At first Max refused, he was embarrassed to accept Cedric's offer because his whole family would have to come. Cedric sensed the hesitation and took a quick guess.
"Please, invite your whole family." Cedric said. "We invaded your home and probably dropped a huge bomb on you and your mother. It's the least I can do."
Max looked to his mother and translated. To Cedric's surprise the old lady placed a hand on her son's shoulder and nodded.
Max confirmed Cedric's suspicion when he told Cedric that he and his family would be honored to accept Cedric's offer.
Luckily, Dave had thought ahead and hired several vehicles from the hotel to come with them. He knew that Cedric's big heart would get the best of him, Dave had even gone as far as reserving the floor below theirs.
It was a good thing that at this time of the year there weren't many guests.
Since the province was a poor one, there were very few hotels in the area that were acceptable. Cedric wasn't picky, but his assistants made it a point that his image was maintained.

Ian had Dave get the details on Max's family and where to have them picked up. It seemed that they had gone ahead to the capital of the province to move into the new home given to them.
The split their group into two, Cedric was accompanied by Ian back to the hotel while Dave, Mae, and Mien went with Max and his mother to pick their family up.
"Am I starting to act like those arrogant CEO's, Ian?" Cedric asked with a sigh as they left Fernado's old home.
"No." Ian said as he gave Cedric a curious look. "Why?" He asked his friend and boss.
"Earlier, I didn't even ask for their names. I was inconsiderate and aloof. This isn't me." Cedric said as he shook his head.
"It's been a long day, you can't be expected to adjust for every individual that we meet." Ian told Cedric as he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Besides, being cold and distant has always been your public image, why care now?"
"For some reason I felt like they wouldn't have told us the information we needed if Mien and Mae hadn't been so nice to them." Cedric said with a sigh.
"You knew from the start that this was going to be your persona when you took over the Reyes Group." Ian told his friend in a sincere tone.
Cedric sighed and remained silent the rest of the drive. He was deep in thought, considering everything that had happened.
When they finally made it to the hotel, Ian was about to leave Cedric alone after discussing work when Dave and Mae suddenly showed up.
"Boss you're not gonna believe how bad it is." Dave said as he and Mae entered the room, closing the door behind them.

"How bad what is?" Cedric asked as he pinched the space between eyes, it had been a tiring day.
"The houses that the mining company gave them." Dave complained. "It's supposed to be compensation for the properties they are taking away, but this room is even bigger!"
"Dave, properties further away from the city are cheaper, their replacement homes are in the provincial capital making it more expensive." Ian said as he sighed and shook his head. "The Reyes Group may not do things that way, but that is the bare minimum that the government requires."
"I know, but -" Dave began to say when Mae placed a hand on his shoulder.
He looked at her and frowned.
"Don't worry Dave, we'll give them something better." Cedric reassured him.
"At least now they are staying in the hotel, I just hope they are comfortable." Ian said with a nod.
"When do the results of the DNA test come out?" Cedric asked as he drummed his fingers on the table.
"It should be out in two days." Ian told Cedric. On the way to the hotel Ian had dropped off the samples at the local Saints Hospital.
Cedric had asked Miguel and Nicole to place someone trustworthy to run the tests. A sample of Fernando's DNA had also been prepared for the process.
"So we work here for a few days, attend some functions, and see what we can investigate on Fernando's wife and son." Cedric said as he thought of their wait.
"We can also visit the nearby province, we have a bigger office there." Mae told Cedric.
"Alright." Cedric said with a nod. "Invite Fernando's family to have dinner with us. Book the entire restaurant and make sure that no one else finds out. Something tells me that the local political families won't be happy that I didn't have dinner with them first."
"Got that." Mae said with a nod as she began texting the hotel manager.
"There will be a function with the local governor and mayor tomorrow, so we won't be offending them for too long." Ian teased.
"Let's just hope that they don't suddenly decide to complicate things for us, for once I want things to just run smoothly." Cedric said with a sigh as he let everyone go and rest for the day.

The Lonely King
He began walking over to me. This is it. I'm dead. I saw his shoes come into my view as I was looking down, hair covering my face. "Look at me." He growled out. I started to cry, too afraid to look. He grasped my chin and lifted my face to meet his. I mentally gasped. It's the guy from last night. His eyes held surprise too, before anger erupted in them. I cowered back in fear of what he might do."Who did this to your face?" He growled. I started to cry again and shake."Him." I whispered and gave a small nod toward the guy who hit me.
