Never Judge Chapter 573

Ian decided to handle the matter with Mae first before confronting the Chan siblings.
"I've asked Mae to meet us here once Adrianna has left for the day." Dave said as he placed down his phone. "She's just finishing up some meetings at the office."
"Good." Ian said with a nod as he messaged Ray to meet him at Bamboo Room tonight. He wanted to talk about the fact that the Chans had been hiding Cedric at Saints Hospital the whole time.
"Why would Mae do this? Lie about knowing where Cedric was hiding? Doesn't she understand how badly he is needed?" Dave asked Leon and Ian. "And also, why did the boss approach her and not me or Ian or Camilla?"
"Your first question is the answer to your second." Leon said with a laugh. "Cedric knew that you would put duty over yourself, while Mae would understand that there are times where you need to put yourself before others. Plus Mae needs this job more than you."
"How could you even assume that?" Dave asked, shaking his head.
"We've worked for Cedric long enough to somewhat understand what he is thinking." Ian said, joining in on the conversation.
"But we still weren't able to figure out where Cedric hid. He was practically in plain sight." Dave said, shaking his head.
"It's Cedric, there is only so much that we can guess that he will do." Leon said, shaking his head. "Between the three of us we should have known he would do something like this, our job after all, has always been to anticipate his needs."
Dave nodded and frowned. Leon was right, their whole job was to know what Cedric would need and what he would do. They weren't like ordinary assistants either, they had more impact on the business than most people thought.
Nothing got to Cedric without them analyzing the material first, every investment and every program needed to get their go signal.

In fact, Dave was shocked when he first heard of both Camilla's and Ian's background when he first heard of them. And when Dave eventually started working for Cedric, the easy job that he expected was in fact the opposite.
"I'll go and have someone bring us dinner. We should feed Mae before questioning her." Ian said with a grin. "Oh and Camilla is on the way, you should tell her everything before Mae arrives."
Dave nodded and leaned back on his seat.
Ian had only been gone for a few minutes when Camilla knocked on the door.
"Ah, you guys are all here." Camilla said with a nod as she walked over and hugged Leon.
Leon awkwardly patted her head as Dave laughed on the side. It was odd to see someone hugging the cold bodyguard, but Camilla and Mae treated him like an older brother and both women were quite affectionate in their actions.
"Where's Ian?" Camilla asked as she took a seat next to Dave.
"He ordered dinner for us." Dave explained with a shrug. "But he told us to explain things to you first."
"Okay, then explain." Camilla said with a nod as she looked between Dave and Leon.
Dave froze and fidgeted under the table.
"Damnit Dave!" Camilla said, clearly annoyed by his reaction. "You've known me for years and now you are suddenly nervous about telling me something that you guys discovered."
"Well it's because I've known you for a while now that's why I'm unsure about how to tell you." Dave said with a shrug.
Camilla rolled her eyes at him and glared.
"Fine." Dave said in surrender. "Just promise you won't overreact and fly off the handle." Dave said in a stern tone.
"Wow, you're suddenly serious." Camilla laughed and nodded.
"This is why Ian left us." Dave grumbled in a low voice, making Leon laugh at his comment.

"Just say it already." Camilla said as she crossed her arms on her chest. Dave knew this was a tell tale sign that she was really mad.
"Okay, so two things. The first, is that we think we know where Cedric has been hiding." Dave said, earning him a wide eyed reaction from Camilla.
"Where? How?" Camilla asked as she leaned forward, eager to hear the details.
"Well, we think he might be at the psychiatric ward of Saints Hospital." Dave explained as he watched as a visible confusion crossed Camilla's face.
"That's not possible." Camilla said, gathering herself. "If he were there then one of the Chan siblings would have known. Eric would have known, he runs that place in the background Katerina told me."
"I'm pretty sure a fight is going to erupt in Ian's home soon." Dave said with a sigh.
"How did you know Cedric was there?" Camilla asked.
"When we picked Leon up, the elevator suddenly stopped at that floor." Dave explained. "Ian caught a glimpse of Cedric and ran out of the elevator. Unfortunately, he didn't catch up to Cedric. I think the boss entered one of the rooms there when he realized he had been spotted."
"Do you think the siblings knew?" Camilla asked Dave.
"Probably." Ian said as he joined them.
"You and Nicole have been fighting over this for weeks." Camilla said with a frown as she looked at her friend. "You even said you believed her."
"I know." Ian said, shaking his head as he took a seat. "I'm disappointed, but I can't say I'm mad. They had their reasons just as Cedric had his."
"I hope he really is at Saints." Camilla said as she reached out and held Ian's hand. "Adrianna hasn't been well lately, at first we thought she was pregnant because the symptoms were similar, but when she went to the hospital for a check up, it came out as negative."
"It would be funny if she were pregnant again, the last time she was pregnant she and Cedric had just made up from a huge fight." Ian said, shaking his head.
"Wait, you guys said that there were two things." Camilla said, practically jumping up in her seat. "So what's the second?" Camilla asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Mae might have known all along where Cedric has been." Dave said quickly, fearing Camilla's reaction.
"WHAT?!" Camilla said angrily. "HOW COULD SHE KNOW AND NOT TELL US!"
"Relax Camilla, you're hurting my ears." Leon complained.
"We think Cedric has been taking care of Adrianna by sending her medicine and food and giving her advice on how to help Adrianna." Ian explained.
"I knew it, I knew something was off." Camilla said proudly. "I was the only one Mia spoke to among the assistants, how could she have gotten close to her."
"I'm sure Mae had her reasons." Ian said as he tried to calm the mood.
"Valid or not, when I see that girl she will be getting a scolding from me." Camilla said in a threatening tone.
"It's your lucky day then." Leon said with a laugh. "She's coming here."
"Here? Are you guys going to confront her?" Camilla asked.
"Yup, she should be here in ten minutes." Dave said as he took a look at his phone. Earning him confused looks from his companions. "She sent her ETA." Dave said with a shrug as he showed them a traffic tracking app that Mor Co was developing.
