"What?" Emilio Reyes said as he suddenly sat up from his seat.

"Leon, what happened." Cedric demanded as his bodyguard tried to find the words to explain the situation.

"Cedric!" Ayanna said as she ran into the room in tears. Emilio was in her arms with blood all over his clothes.

Cedric quickly pulled his sister into a hug and tried his best to comfort her. She was frantic and could not be consoled.

"Ayanna, what happened? Where is Mom? Where is Adrianna? And why is my son full of blood?" Cedric asked, his tone full of worry.

At the corner of his eye Cedric saw Miguel and Nicole rushing to leave, clearly they had just been called to go to Saints Hospital to see after Priscilla Reyes.

"Adri is with mom." Ayanna said in between sobs as Cedric too Emilio from her arms. The little boy seemed to have cried himself to sleep. Cedric tried his best to make sense of what was going on, but there was very little to go by. Ayanna struggled to get the words out.

Cedric checked on his son and was relieved to see that there were no injuries. The blood on the little boy was not his, if it weren't Emilio's, then whose was it? Could if have been Adrianna's? Or his mom's? Or maybe a bodyguard's? Cedric began to worry even more.

Ray came up and pulled Ayanna into his arms and let her cry.

"Shhhh, Ayanna tell us what happened." Ray said as he tried to comfort his wife.

"Dad, mom is at Saints. She lost so much blood." Ayanna struggled to speak, her voice was trembling as tears dropped from her eyes.

"Ayanna, tell us what happened." Emilio Reyes III said in a surprisingly calm tone. Cedric was worried, his father should have been in a panic.

"Dad, mom." Was all Ayanna could say as she burst into tears again.

"Dad, I think it's best if we went to the hospital and visited mom." Cedric suggested.

"We won't be of use there." Emilio said, shaking his head. "Your mother is probably in the operating room, your wife is already there keeping her company. We should first care for Yoyo and Ayanna, then find out who is behind this." Emilio told his son in a stern tone.

Cedric pulled his son closer to him, he couldn't help but admit that he was worried about his mother and his wife. He wanted to find out who was responsible and make them pay.

"I'll take Emilio up to his room and get him cleaned." Cedric told his dad as he walked out of the room with his son in his arms.

"Daddy?" Emilio suddenly said as he opened his eyes and looked up at his father. "Will gramma be okay?"

"Of course Emilio." Cedric told his son. "Auntie Nicole and Uncle Miguel are on their way to her, and they are the best doctors in the world."

"Uncle Miguel is a doctor?" Emilio asked, making Cedric laugh. It never occurred to him that his son only saw his friends as uncles and not for their professions.

"Yes Emilio, your uncle Miguel and aunt Nicole are the best doctors around." Cedric said with a nod. "Do you believe in your uncle and auntie?" Cedric asked the little boy.

"Of course! Uncle Miguel is the best." Emilio said with a weak smile.

"Good." Cedric told his son as he placed him down on the ground. "Now, be a good boy and let daddy wash you."

Emilio nodded and discarded his blood soaked clothes. As Cedric looked at the blood he couldn't help but worry about so many things. His mother was now injured in the hospital, he had no idea about her condition. His son on the other hand had just watched his grandmother get shot and had her blood all over his clothes, he was worried about the trauma Emilio would have to suffer after this.

As he washed his son Cedric tried his hardest to convince himself that his mother would be fine. His father remained calm and collected while he and Ayanna struggled to keep their emotions in check.

He was taking this time to calm himself, focusing on his son. He found it odd that Emilio was calm and wasn't reacting the way he expected. When he finally dressed the little boy he placed him to bed.

"Daddy, gramma will be ok right?" Emilio asked again in his little voice.

"Yes Emilio, she will be." Cedric said with a nod.

"Daddy, I don't want to be alone in the dark. The men might come for me again." Emilio cried out as he noticed his father leaving.

Cedric was taken by surprise with his son's words, what men was Emilio talking about?

"Emilio, what happened?" Cedric asked as he got into bed and hugged his son. "What men are you talking about?" Cedric pulled his son closer to him to comfort the little boy.

"Daddy, the men that tried to take me." Emilio cried out. "Daddy don't leave me."

Cedric was shocked, this was the first time that anyone had mentioned that there was a kidnapping attempt on Emilio. Was this the reason why his mother got shot?

"Emilio, don't worry. Daddy will take you wherever he goes." Cedric promised his son.

Cedric held Emilio till the little boy fell asleep again. He wanted to keep his promise to his son, so he picked the boy up and took him downstairs to the living room.

He was surprised that his father's calm demeanour had now turned haggard. It seemed that he was no longer calm about the situation.

"Dad, what happened?" Cedric asked as he approached with his son in his arms. "Is there any news about mom?"

"Cedric, shouldn't Yoyo stay upstairs in his room?" Katerina asked as she noticed Cedric carrying his son. "Things that we might discuss here might traumatize him."

"I think it's too late for that Katerina." Cedric said with a sigh. "He saw everything, and according to Emilio there was an attempt to kidnap him."

Cedric looked to his father, it seemed that Emilio Reyes already knew about the attempt, he didn't seem surprised at all with the news.

"Dad, do you already know the details?" Cedric asked in a low voice. He didn't want to wake his sleeping son.

"Cedric, take a seat." Emilio said as he pointed towards a free chair. "Yoyo isn't that light anymore."

Cedric wanted to complain, but he knew now wasn't the time. He did as his father asked and sat down.

"Did you investigate what happened? Is there any news about mom?" Cedric asked.

"Which would you like answered first?" Emilio asked his son.

"How is mom?" Cedric asked, his priority would always be his family's safety.

"She lost a lot of blood and sustained many injuries." Emilio said with a frown.

"Dad, what are you not telling me?" Cedric asked.

"Cedric, Miguel and Nicole said they aren't sure if Priscilla will make it." At Emilio's words Cedric felt the whole world drop.
