As the program began Alexi couldn't help but glance towards Cedric's table, he knew that Cedric's chair had been purposely placed so that others couldn't see him.

He envied Cedric right now, in the past hour several people had found a way to come up to him and Jen and congratulate them. It hadn't escaped his notice either that all the well wishers would glare at Selina as they passed.

It was clear that the rumors Jen had spread had taken root and people had come to think badly of Selina. Their engagement made things even worse, people wanted to get into Jen's good graces, she was after all going to be the future Mrs. Sebastian.

"Is something wrong?" Jen asked as another politician left after congratulating them.

"I just don't like the attention." Alexi said as he quickly came up with an excuse. "It's Ray and Ayanna's wedding. The limelight should be on them."

"My brother is very protective of his friends and their feelings." Natalia, who was also seated at their table with Adolfo said as she glared at Jen. "You should know this Jen."

Alexi was surprised that his youngest sister did not even try to hide her distaste of the woman. He didn't blame Natalia, it was her first time facing the woman who had used Alexi's feelings to steal from her lab and hurt her friend.

"You can't stop them Alexi." Selina suddenly said. "You two are the freshest gossip. They will always flock to you." She said with a genuine smile.

Alexi couldn't help but smile back as he saw that there was no hint of anger or disappointment in Selina's expression.

"See Alexi, even Selina thinks it's understandable." Jen said as she placed a hand on his arm. Alexi resisted the temptation to shove her hand off his arm.

"Just because it's understandable doesn't make it right, Jen." Selina suddenly said in a cold tone, surprising everyone on their table.

In their past encounters, Selina had always taken the apologetic tone towards Jen. Alexi assumed that since their talk Selina had come to terms with the fact that Jen was not a good person and that it wasn't Selina's fault that she turned out that way.

"I'm sorry Selina, but did I do anything to be on the receiving end of your snide remarks?" Jen suddenly asked, surprising everyone.

"Yes you have." Selina said in a cold tone.

Selina's answer made Francesca laugh quite loudly, it was clear that the two had become quite close friends.

"Bitch." Jen said as she stood up and ran away from their table.

Alexi sat and leaned back on his seat with a grin, this earned him a puzzled look from Helios, Selina's twin, who wasn't privy to what Jen had done.

"Shouldn't you go after your fiance?" Helios asked Alexi in a cold tone.

"Why should I? Your sister was right?" Alexi said, shocking Helios.

"Alexi, go after her." Selina urged.

"Alexi, you have to. It'll be suspicious if you don't." Ram reminded him before Alexi could even respond to Selina. "You dug your own grave." Ram addaded making Alexi groan in frustration.

"Can't I need a break from her?" Alexi asked.

"No, now go." Ram said with a laugh.

Alexi could do nothing, he knew Ram was right, he was only suffering from the consequences of his own actions. So he stood up and walked towards the direction he had seen Jen running towards.

He wandered the halls as he tried to figure out where she went, he had asked several members of the staff, some of them eventually managed to point him towards the right direction.

As he turned a corner he heard Jen's voice, it seemed like she was on the phone with someone.

"I'm sure he'll come after me." Jen said, he tone was a lot colder than usual. Alexi wondered who she was talking to. He decided to stay hidden and listen in on her conversation.

"Of course I still have him wrapped around my finger, nothing has changed. He is still madly in love with me." Jen said with a laugh. "I bet, right now, he is embarrassing Selina or at the very least reprimanding her. He hates her so much because of my stories that he doesn't realize the truth. Even if his stupid lawyer of a sister told him the truth he wouldn't listen to her."

Alexi balled his hand into a fist as he resisted walking over and hurting Jen. She had not lonely insulted Selina, made fun of him, but she had also called Katerina stupid. He might have fights with his younger sister but he could never take people who said bad things about his sisters behind their backs.

"Yes I still have the serums you need, don't worry." Jen said in an annoyed tone. "Well it won't exactly be acceptable if I went over to your place. The serums are delicate and we need to arrange the meet up properly. Anyway, I think Alexi might come and find me soon. I'll call tonight."

Alexi assumed that she had dropped the call, because out of nowhere he could hear her sobs. He decided to wait a while so that she wouldn't think he heard anything. After a few minutes he ran over to find her leaning against the wall, crying.

"Jen baby, what's wrong?" Alexi forced himself to ask. "I've already told Selina off. You don't need to worry about that bitch." Alexi added.

"They all don't like me." Jen said as she continued to sob. "You sisters hate me, even your friends hate me."

"Hey, they don't hate you." Alexi said as he wiped a tear off of Jen's face as he tried to fake comfort her. "They just don't like outsiders."

Jen looked up at him and blinked. "Alexi, as long as you love me, I will be happy." Jen confessed as she wrapped her arms around Alexi's neck and went on her tiptoes to kiss him quite passionately.

Alexi knew he couldn't push her away, nor could he choose not to kiss her back. He hated his options, but there wasn't much he could do at the moment, so he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him.

Alexi deepened the kiss as he heard Jen moan into his mouth. For some reason as he kissed Jen another woman's face flashed in his mind, it was Selina Ramirez.
