Fate seemingly sent an interesting twist their way, as the elevator doors opened on the top floor they just so happened to bump into Jason Evangelista and his team.

Miguel grinned at the opportunity. He suddenly grabbed Veronica by the waist and kissed her passionately.

"Ah Miss Veronica is so lucky to have such a loving husband, she's truly a winner in life." A female member of Jason's team said with a sigh.

"She's not that amazing." Jason said in a bitter tone as he started to walk away.

He stopped in his tracks when he saw Ayanna and a man, who seemed to be the Reyes Heir, approaching.

"Miss Ayanna, good morning." Jason greeted.

Ayanna ignored him and continued to walk.

"Really guys? We get it, you're in love. Not in my office please." Ayanna teased her friends. When she and her brother stumbled into the scene, she knew exactly what Miguel was trying to do. He was showing Jason how much of a catch he missed.

"Ayanna, Mr. Reyes, sorry about that. I guess I just couldn't resist my amazing wife." Miguel said as he released Veronica.

"Well I need to take your wife away for our meeting. Go and hangout with my brother." Ayanna said with a smile as she dragged Veronica to the meeting room.

When everyone had left, Cedric shook his head and invited Miguel over to his office to wait.

Once inside Cedric sat and continued to work while Miguel looked for a new opportunity to embarrass Jason since Cedric had stopped his last attempt.

"Is the art auction this weekend something big?" Miguel asked Cedric as he scrolled through the list of events that Jason was set to attend.

"Should be, why?" Cedric asked.

"Jason is going to be an appraiser for artworks. I'll have Ram drop the expose about him a day before that." Miguel said as he dialed Ram's number.

After an hour, Veronica and Ayanna entered Cedric's office. Miguel was lounging on the couch while Cedric was working at his desk.

"Done?" Miguel asked as they came in.

Veronica just nodded.

"Bye." Miguel said as he pulled his wife out of Cedric's office and walked to the elevator. Miguel was trying to catch Jason and his team while they waited for the elevator.

"Darling, you're amazing!" Miguel said in a loud voice as they approached the elevator. "First this partnership with Ayanna, then we'll be flying out so you could design a prince's palace."

As Miguel said this, he looked over to Jason who seemed furious.

"Miguel, don't embarrass me." Veronica said as she blushed.

"Everyone says you're the top designer now. Look even the famous J will be working for you." Miguel said with a grin. As he said this, he looked again at Jason who was looking away, what Miguel had said clearly struck a chord.

When the elevator door finally opened, Veronica dragged Miguel in.

"Are you crazy?" Veronica gave Miguel a cold glare as the elevator descended.

"Crazy for you." Miguel whispered into her ear as he held her tight. Miguel was feeling lucky so he planted a passionate kiss on Veronica's lips. He grinned when he realized that she wasn't going to fight back. The little woman must have been moved by his attempt to embarrass Jason.

When Miguel finally broke off the kiss, he was happy when he noticed Veronica smiling.

"Did you enjoy embarrassing him?" Miguel asked.

"Mmmm, yeah. Today was a good day." Veronica held Miguel's hand as they walked out of the elevator and into the lobby.

Miguel's car was already waiting at the driveway. He first opened the door for his wife and helped her in before going to the driver's side and speeding away.

"Shall we bum around at Mountain View? Or do you want to go to the mall?" Miguel asked.

"I need to go to the office. The months in hiding left a ton of paperwork, plus I need to work on the plans for both Elisia Malls and Cedric's Tech Hub, add to it that the construction of Mor Co.'s new building is about to begin. I also have other clients to work with." Veronica explained.

"Okay, okay. I'll drop you off then go to the hospital. They might need some help." Miguel said as he changed directions.

Veronica had built her own firm after returning to the country. Miguel had given her a piece of property in a high end community outside of the Capitol. He always told her to think of it as an engagement gift, and since she was already getting engaged against her will, Veronica decided to happily accept it.

Over the years Miguel had seen the firm grow, from a group of five with Veronica handling most of the work there were now at least sixty employees. Miguel didn't even count the construction workers that they hired for their builds, if he did then her employees would be in the hundreds.

"Call me when you're done." Miguel said with a wink as he drove off.

The rest of the week was quite peaceful, Miguel had entered into a new routine, he would drive Veronica to wherever she needed to go before heading off to Saints Hospital to help out. Miguel was extremely happy because Veronica had done nothing to reject him recently. He even got as far as kissing Veronica in public.

Soon enough it was Friday, there was going to be a very important auction the next day and as one of the most elite members of society Miguel and Veronica, as well as their friends were invited.

At first, Veronica didn't want to go since she knew that Jason would have an important role to play in the event. Nicole, however, managed to convince her that her being there as a member of both the Abad and Chan families would irk Jason even more.

It was almost 10pm when Miguel got a call from Ram.

"It's out. The organizers for tomorrow will be in a panic now." Ram said over the phone.

"Great. I think they'll suddenly need to replace Jason. I told Veronica's assistant to give me a call if that happens and not to tell Veronica." Miguel explained.

"She's gonna be pissed when she finds out. How did you get all of this information by the way?" Ram asked. Miguel knew that Ram had been trying to find some proof on Jason for years but failed to find any. Jason cleaned up well, Miguel was just better.
