Never Judge Chapter 190

Miguel continued to watch Veronica as she slept peacefully. He gently kissed her on the lips and walked over to the couch. He was glad that it seemed that fate itself intervened when it came to his relationship with Veronica.
If it hadn't been for his sister's invitation he wouldn't have been at the mall when Ram watched the car show. He recalled how he told Ram to put his name as a possible husband for Anna. Of course the Abad family jumped at the opportunity, the Chans were the Chans, and the Evangelista family was nothing compared to them.
Miguel remembered the day Uncle James told Anna about their engagement. She stormed out of the restaurant and Miguel chased after her. It was late at night and raining heavily, he was worried she would get into an accident or get sick because of the rain.
He eventually found her in a park crying. When he finally approached, she seemed weak and couldn't recognize him, she eventually fainted as he picked her up in his arms and brought her to the hospital. He stayed by her side till she eventually woke up. She was still feverish so she thought it was Ram that was with her.
After their engagement, Anna started treating Miguel coldly. She often ordered him around or just completely ignored him. It hurt him a bit, but it was better than her marrying someone like Jason.
Eventually Miguel had to go back to America again for further studies. During the time he was studying, he didn't return home as much anymore, so he was surprised to hear that Anna had a big fight with Jason and that she had even pulled out of school.
It was her mother, Victoria Bernasconi-Abad, that called Miguel asking him to talk to Anna. The Abad family had already threatened to cut her off after she refused to be engaged, Victoria was afraid that the Abad clan would actually disown Anna. Miguel called everyone and looked for a way to help her. It was Ayanna that eventually suggested in helping her start a new life elsewhere and creating a career out of her passion.

Nicole, Ayanna, and Katerina pushed Anna to consider flying to Paris to study and to change her name. Ram promised Anna that the Abad family would pay for everything, when in truth it was Miguel that was paying for all of her expenses.
When her mentors or the university needed a guardian's signature, Ayanna had convinced Priscilla Clarin-Reyes to pretend to be Mrs. Bernasconi. As Anna was about to leave for Paris, Miguel then decided to drop an opportunity in America and take up a post in one of France's public hospitals instead; something the Chan family heavily opposed. It was this move of Miguel's that convinced his father, Raphael Chan, to groom Nicole to take on the family business.
Veronica, as she had already been styling herself at the time, lived at Miguel's house. Ram visited once, and questioned Miguel while Veronica was attending her classes.
"Why not tell her that it's you? That you're paying for everything." Ram asked Miguel.
"Because if she knew, she would throw all of the opportunity away just to reject my help. She has a lot of pride." Miguel laughed.
"Fine. You know her best. But do I really need to give her this card? She'll just go shopping with it. Won't she make you poor?" Ram asked as he waved a black card.
"Do you really think I work for charity? One operation earns me in the hundreds of thousands, Veronica's shopping sprees won't hurt. Trust me." Miguel said with a grin.
The thought of Veronica having relied on him this whole time made Miguel smile in the dark, as he looked over at her from the couch. The fact that he now slept in the same room as her at night made him extremely happy.
Miguel woke up the next day recharged and ready to work on his plan. He knew that Veronica had a meeting at the Reyes Group in an hour so he didn't expect to find her still in bed. He laughed at first, but when he realized she would be furious for being late he frowned.

He called his wife's secretary telling her to move her meeting with Elisia Malls by an hour. It wouldn't be an issue anyway since Ayanna would be in that meeting too.
He gently woke Veronica up.
"Let me sleep some more." Veronica complained.
"If you sleep more, you'll be late for your meeting with Ayanna. Look at the time." Miguel was gently shaking her when her eyes snapped open and she grabbed her phone.
"Crap." Veronica said as she realized the time. She quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom.
"I had your meeting moved. No need to rush." Miguel called out. "I'll bring you to R Tower myself and wait for you. I need to talk to Cedric anyway." He did not need to talk to Cedric.
"Who told you to move my schedule! What if I had plans?" An irritated Veronica said.
"Relax V." Miguel said hugging her from behind. Veronica squirmed in his arms. "I cleared it with your secretary, no conflict." Miguel stole a kiss on her cheek and released her.
Miguel drove Veronica to R tower and when they got there he opened the door for her and helped her out. He passed his keys to a bodyguard and walked into R Tower hand in hand with his wife.
"Wow, Miss Veronica is so lucky, Doctor Miguel Chan is so hot!" A girl said as they passed by. Miguel grinned at his wife who in turn pinched him.
They hadn't gone out much in public as a couple so as soon as people saw them several employees took out their phones to snap photos.
Miguel was actually doing this on purpose, the more noise they made as a couple and the more the public made it seem that they had won in life, the more he was sure Jason would be annoyed by taking Veronica for granted.
Since they were friends of the Reyes Family, the couple took the private elevator up to the top floor where the meeting would be held. Since the project involved Ayanna they could have the meeting in the executive boardroom that was only used when a member of the Reyes family was involved.
