Ram got in the driver's seat and Miguel sat next to him. "What's up? What's with the shady actions?" Miguel asked Ram as he drove off in his sports car.

"My parents want to arrange a marriage for Anna." Ram said, Miguel could feel his heart breaking at the idea of Anna being with someone else. "You love her, right?"

Ram's question caught Miguel by surprise, he thought he hid it quite well. He never did anything that would explicitly show his feelings toward Anna.

"Are you crazy Ram? She bullies me all the time. How can I love someone that can't even treat me right." Miguel grumbled.

"She's been getting close with the Evangelista kid. They aren't on the same level as us, but a marriage between them would still benefit us." Ram continued to explain as they sped through the highway.

"That brat? He just uses her." Miguel's voice came out louder than he had intended making Ram laugh.

"The parents are just talking, nothing is final, but I think they are coming close to a deal." Ram said as he sped through the highway.

"She won't be happy with him." Miguel whispered.

"She likes him enough to spend time with him. I heard he plans on taking the same major as her when they go to University, he even wants to go to the same school." The more Ram told Miguel about the Evangelista kid the more mad Miguel felt.

"Why are you telling me this?" Miguel asked Ram.

"You love my sister, right? I just thought you deserved a fighting chance." As Ram said this, they arrived at the Chan home and Miguel got out of the car and marched away.

The entire two weeks he was home at that time, Miguel avoided Anna at all costs, what use was falling in love with someone that would be marrying a different person. He had no plans of suffering through that kind of pain.

After two weeks, he couldn't keep avoiding Anna anymore, especially since his younger sister Nicole was her best friend. On one of Miguel's days off from the hospital, Nicole decided to drag him out to go shopping. He was so tired that he just agreed and was suddenly shoved into a car with Nicole and Anna.

Anna had her usual annoyed look when she saw that Miguel would be joining them.

"You're here to help us." Anna said.

"I know, you guys need a man to help you carry the things you buy." Miguel said with a laugh. Anna rolled her eyes at him and Miguel grinned. How could he resist not seeing her as soon as he came back.

"Miguel, Anna is mad cause she thinks you've been avoiding her." Nicole complained to her brother.

"I didn't say that! Nicole shut your big mouth!" Anna said, as Nicole laughed at her flustered friend who was blushing in embarrassment.

"Did you miss me, Veronica?" Miguel said with a wink, using the made up name he had given her when they were kids. Anna always hated her name and when they would play games she would use different names all the time. Eventually Miguel started calling her Veronica and she liked it, so as children he would call her by that name when they played games. As they got older however, it became a running joke.

"Who would miss an idiot like you?" Anna said, turning her back on Miguel. He loved how she reacted to every attempt to flirt that he made.

When they got to the mall, Miguel was surprised to see Jason Evangelista and another girl waiting for them.

"Who are they?" Miguel asked, pretending not to know.

"Anna's best friend. I think she secretly likes him." Nicole giggled.

"I thought you guys were best friends?" Miguel asked in an indifferent tone.

"She can have more than one best friend, but I don't like him that much. He's too confident." Nicole told her brother.

"He must be something if you think he's too confident, we're friends with Alexi after all." Miguel said as he continued to glare at Jason who had just hugged Anna.

"Alexi is different. He can back up his confidence. Anyway, let's shop." Nicole said as she dragged her brother into the mall.

The whole time they were shopping Miguel kept his eye on Jason, he noticed the guy kept pointing things out and Veronica would buy it for him. She seemed to be doing everything he asked for.

By the end of their trip, it looked like Jason had robbed a whole closet with the things Anna bought for him.

They were about to leave when Miguel's phone began to ring, it was Ram.

"Hey, are you still at the mall?" Ram asked over the phone.

"Yeah. What's up?" Miguel asked.

"Wait for me. There's a car show at the parking lot. I wanna take a look." Ram said.

Miguel agreed and sent the girls off ahead. He only had to wait five minutes before Ram finally arrived in a cab.

"What happened to your car?" Miguel asked.

"I'm here to check out what cars people are boasting about, I don't want to steal their attention. Plus I didn't want the security team following me." Ram said with a shrug.

Ram and Miguel stayed behind the crowd and watched as people observed the cars on display, Miguel grinned. Most of his friend's cars were even better than these.

"She buys me everything I want!" Miguel heard a familiar voice boast. He absolutely hated men who acted that way, he was probably using a rich lady to buy the things he wanted.

"You're so lucky, man. That Abad chick sure is loaded." The other person's comment suddenly grabbed Miguel's attention.

"My parents are even talking about marriage with hers. I don't want to spend my life with her, but rich husbands tend to have mistresses so I'll probably take one of her family's actresses." Miguel suddenly realized who it was. Jason Evangelista.
