Never Judge Chapter 98

By the time Cedric woke up Adrianna had already changed her clothes and was talking to his parents.
"Since when have you guys been so close?" Cedric asked.
"You're up!" Priscilla Reyes said happily.
"You must be hungry." Adrianna said coming over with breakfast for Cedric. "I'll help you eat."
"I hope you didn't make any injuries worse last night." Ayanna teased as she entered the room with Ray.
"Ayanna!" Adrianna scolded.
"What? I'm just concerned my brother slept in the wrong position last night." Ayanna said with a giggle.
"I wouldn't be that irresponsible." Cedric told his sister.
"Cedric!" Adrianna scolded, blushing.
Cedric laughed and hugged his wife from the bed. She tripped and fell back landing almost on Cedric's injuries.
"Woah, woah. Not so rough Ced!" Miguel scolded as he entered with his team. "Take it easy. Your injuries still need to heal. You broke three ribs right there. If Adrianna landed wrong I'd need to rush you to the OR."
"Got it, Doc." Cedric winked, still holding Adrianna in his arms.
"Where's Nicole?" Ayanna asked.
"She said she would check up on my other patient and follow." Miguel said with an evil grin.
"That girl, ditching me for a man!" Ayanna said, laughing.
"Veronica and Ram should arrive later. Veronica said something about arranging the stuff you guys bought yesterday. She's an interior designer for crying out loud, she doesn't have to fix closets too." Miguel said, shaking his head.
"You know that girl, she's a perfectionist. She was probably up all night thinking about all those clothes left unorganized." Ayanna giggled.
"A perfectionist and a bully. She made me pick everything up at the Reyes House!" Miguel complained.

"I think you graduated early just to get away from Veronica." Cedric teased.
"I'll never understand why she just loves to pick on me!" Miguel complained as he checked Cedric.
"You were the youngest and the nerdiest. And thus the easiest to pick on." Ray said.
"Ced, you seem fine. You just need to rest. So Adrianna, control yourself." Miguel said with a wink, making Adrianna blush and the rest of the room burst out in laughter.
"The rest of you can go. I'll stay here." Miguel told the doctors and nurses that had followed him.
"Hey Jo!" Cedric called out to his old friend.
"Hey Ced. Should I stay or should I go?" Jo said with a nervous laugh.
"Of course you should stay!" Ayanna said, answering for her brother.
"I'm sure you're confused." Cedric smiled at his old friend.
Jo just nodded awkwardly.
"Well for one, I only gave your credentials to Miguel for his team. He wouldn't have hired you if you weren't good enough." Cedric explained to Jo.
"Oh. To be honest since I found out who you were I was worried that I only got the job because of you." Jo confessed.
"I don't work that way." Cedric said with a smile, he was hoping that Adrianna would realize that he did the same thing for her. He didn't force people to work with her, he just opened a door, it was up to her whether or not they chose to work with her.
Jo and Cedric spoke for a while as Cedric explained his real identity and why he had to hide it. The whole time Adrianna just sat next to Cedric and Cedric refused to let go of her hand.
Cedric's room began to get noisier as Ray and Veronica arrived. After a while the whole Sebastian family also visited so soon enough the initially spacious room had become cramped, and with the amount of security patrolling the area, even the hallway was full of people.

Jo eventually had to leave to work, but he was soon replaced by Nicole who arrived with a blush on her face.
"I think Nicole took too much care of your other patient, Miguel!" Veronica teased as Nicole walked in.
"Veronica, it's just hot." Nicole reasoned out.
"Nicole, we've known you long enough to know when you are blushing!" Katerina teased.
Suddenly Emilio Reyes' phone began to ring.
"That's odd, the only people who know this number are more or less in this room." Emilio said looking at the unknown number calling. "You guys continue, I'll answer this outside." Emilio stepped out.
Cedric looked at Alexi and nodded. Alexi quickly followed Emilio out.
Less than a few seconds later Alexi and Emilio came back in and Alexi signaled for everyone to keep quiet. Emilio placed his phone on speaker and the voice on the other side of the line boomed in the silence.
"...didn't expect that someone could hurt your precious heir. Yes, I know who he is." The voice said.
"What do you want and why are you saying this?" Emilio asked the caller.
"Aren't you curious about who I am?" The person asked.
"You are insignificant to me. Emilio said.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, you were already like that thirty five years ago, and you still act with so much pride." The person said.
"You knew me before?" Emilio asked the caller.
"We were in University, you liked a girl, you were actually dating that girl. Sadly for you she liked me more and ended up cheating on you and leaving you for me. When you revealed your real identity you went after us." The voice recounted events from almost thirty years in the past.
"Damnit." Emilio Reyes suddenly cursed remembering those events.
"Ah, so now you remember me." The voice said in a slightly disappointed tone.
"Look, Carlos, that's all in the past. Why are you going after my son?" Emilio asked.
"Because I lost a son because of you. When you made me lose everything Hannah left me! She left with my unborn child!" A furious Carlos said on the other line.
"I swear Carlos Galan, if you do anything else to hurt my family I will come after you!" Emilio said angrily.
"But you came after my family first Emilio, and don't you dare do anything to my new wife. Your son has done enough, and for a nobody at that!" Carlos De Dios said dropping the call.
"You knew him?" Priscilla asked.
Emilio sat down and simply nodded his head.
