Never Judge Chapter 10

"Why, if it isn't Mrs. Reyes, what is it like marrying a man that earns less than you?" Lorisa asked, mocking Adrianna.
"It's been a while, Lorisa." Adrianna said, refusing to engage.
"What are you doing here Adrianna? Your husband can't afford to take you out to eat here. I'm pretty sure your family wouldn't approve of you spending so much on a meal here." Lorisa continued to try to get a reaction out of Adrianna. Adrianna however refused to entertain her childish tactics.
"If you have nothing good to say Lorisa, I'll be on my way. Have a good day." Adrianna immediately left the women's room and returned to their room.
"There is an annoying fly here today." Adrianna commented to Cedric. He raised his eyebrow in response.
"I saw Lorisa De Jesus in the women's room just now." Adrianna complained.
"You're a thousand times prettier and smarter than her." Cedric said, pinching her chin and giving her a light peck on the lips. He found Adrianna adorable when she was mad or jealous.
"It's almost time to get back to work, shouldn't you get the bill?" Adrianna asked.
"It's already been paid for." Cedric confessed.
"Please tell me you didn't have to borrow money for us to eat here?" Adrianna asked suspiciously.
"No, definitely not. We just have to sneak out the bathroom window." Cedric joked.
"I'm serious Cedric. Where did you get the money to pay for this?" Adrianna was worried about how they could afford to eat lunch there so casually.
"I told you, I got a promotion. Plus I saved up for us to have a good meal." Cedric did get the biggest promotion you could possibly get. He suffered for thirteen years for him to get here and he wasn't going to waste any time pampering his wife.

"Alright I guess that makes sense." Adrianna tried to convince herself to believe Cedric's explanation.
"Before I forget, I got part of my inheritance today. Here, my parents put this aside for my future wife." Cedric handed Adrianna the bank card his father had prepared for her.
"Cedric, you need this more than I do." Adrianna refused to take the bank card.
"Adri, my parents wanted you to have this. Please take it. I'm sure they would feel bad if you didn't." Cedric wasn't lying, his mother would feel sad if Adrianna refused the money, they had a lot of it.
"Alright. Let's go back to the office." Adrianna said, hooking her arm on Cedric's. Before they exited the restaurant, Cedric called the manager over and whispered something to him. The manager simply nodded and the couple left.
In the elevator, Adrianna couldn't help it and asked Cedric what he told the manager.
"I told them they had a cockroach problem." Cedric simply said. Leaving Adrianna more confused than before she asked him.
At the 15th floor, the manager of Nouveau approached an exquisitely dressed couple.
"Miss, are you Lorisa De Jesus?" he asked.
"Darling, someone must have been in awe of your beauty that they decided to give us a treat!" Lorisa's self absorbed husband, Anton Cruz said.
"Oh, I'm flattered, Mr. Manager." Lorisa said, pretending to be humble.
"No miss. I'm here to inform you that according to our owner you are banned from ever eating at Nouveau again. Please settle your bill and leave the premises immediately!" The manager said, handing the couple their bill.
"This is nonsense! We've been coming here for a year now and you are banning us!" Anton said, furiously.
"It's instructions directly from the owner sir." The manager calmly answered.

"Where is this owner of Nouveau? He must be some new rich chef!" Anton continued to shout.
"I'm sorry sir but Mr. Reyes is a busy man."
"M-m-mr. Reyes the owner of R Tower?" Anton stuttered.
"No sir, Mr. Reyes his son, heir to the Reyes Group. Sir, if you refuse to leave I will have you thrown out. You would of course first need to pay for what you ordered." The manager explained.
"The food here isn't good anyway!" Lorisa complained as she handed her card to the manager.
The manager swiped the card and told them to leave. Of course other socialites were eating at Nouveau and witnessed the scene Lorisa and Anton had caused. News quickly spread that the Cruz couple was thrown out of Nouveau.
"That Adrianna, I saw her today and she brought me nothing but bad luck!" Lorisa complained as they were escorted out of the tower.
At the ground floor of R Tower, Adrianna and Cedric happened to witness as Lorisa and Anton were being escorted out by security.
Adrianna couldn't help but wonder what had happened.
