Ivy swayed her hips as she walked past the handsome stranger then entered the kitchen. She spotted a freshly made batch of Pierce's triple chocolate brownies and stole one. Biting into it as she walked over to Pierce.

"Hey!!"

Pierce shouted out in protest, but he could never be mad at Ivy. She was his best friend and he would give her the tray of brownies if she asked. This was just part of their banter.

"Thanks, Pierce".

Ivy finished up her shift by clocking out and getting changed back into her ripped skinny jeans and black hoody. She gave one last wave to Pierce and left the restaurant, going into the back alley. Pierce had offered to drive Ivy but she likes the nights, the cold air and the empty streets. It gives her time to think.

Ivy gets to her apartment building the security passcode has long been broken. You can just enter and leave whenever you want. Ivy gets into the graffiti-covered lift and hit the twenty-first-floor button. This looks like a dump but it was her dump. Her father would never visit her here. Getting home Ivy opened the door and call out.

"Baby I'm home".

Ivy has a blue pitbull, he charges into her arms as she bends down at the door. He's one hundred per cent her protector and cuddles monster. Ivy called him Zeus. He's big and powerful but is a real cutie pie.

Ivy's apartment is a small one bed, just a living room, kitchen and bathroom. It is small but it's all she needs. Ivy moved out at seventeen, five years later I still love my own space and independence. The first time she moved out though her apartment was a penthouse in a luxury condo, but she's been living here for two years and couldn't be happier.

She may have lived in nicer places than this but this is incognito and her dad would never visit her here. It's decorated in colours of grey and white and is minimalist, she doesn't keep anything precious here except Zeus and her clothing. She had just one photograph on the wall. The photograph was of her granda on his Harley riding through the streets in the nineteen fifty's, he was very cool and still is.

"Come on I'll feed you then bed. I'm knackered".

Ivy takes off her leather, hoody and ripped skinny jeans and jumped straight into the shower. Getting out she puts on her sweats. Ivy jumped into bed with Zeus and went to sleep after a long day.

In Cerulean Condos

CEO Noah Adler is lying in bed with a bandage wrapped around his head. He has a red neck scarf covered in his blood in his hand. He woke up in bed furious after being attacked. It's not like him to let others have an opportunity to get the best of him. But his mind had been distracted by a flirty kitty.

"Aiden." Hi, a deep cello voice filled the room.

"Yes, boss".

"I want the men who attacked me found, interrogate them to see who's behind this then kill them. Also I want to see the CCTV footage".

Aiden places the laptop down on the bed and takes a step back. Noah watches the footage twice and then pauses it on a certain feisty kitten. A smile gracing his face.

Aiden was taken back, he had never seen his boss smile and wondered what could be the cause.

"Get me all the information on my little kitten. Don't leave anything out".

"Yes, boss".

Aiden walks out to carry out his bosses orders. Aiden has been with his boss since college. They met each other there and he's very loyal to Noah.

He thought Noah was acting strange tonight. First, he usually would have left any dinner that looked like a date and next he smiled and stuck up for a female waitress. Lastly, someone was able to hurt his boss. He had never been attacked like that in the last ten years but it happened tonight. Luckily that same waitress from earlier had saved him. Aiden made a note to treat this girl well the next time they meet.

Inside the large penthouse bedroom, Noah leaned against the headboard of his bed and looked at the image on the screen then at the scarf and smiled again. If anyone saw this they would be in shock. This cold, dangerous man was smiling because of a woman.

He wondered where she learned to fight like that and why. He was proud and yet anxious at the possible reasons behind it. He would have to spoil her more in the future.

"Let's see what else you have up your sleeve. See you soon kitten".
