Secrets Of The Universe Chapter 172

As he looked at the silver rings in her eyes, Jake had never thought he would see something so perfect. Yet, he had to kill it!
Holding his sword, Jake channeled his energy into it. Despite her being a candidate, he reckoned that he would not be able to communicate with her. This was someone…..something, that killed the first set of people she laid her eyes on for no particular reason.
She was a threat!
*Snarl*
Luckily for Jake, he was once again reminded of his location.
He ignored the female creature and looked to his side.
'It is about to open,' sighed Jake.
The [Holy Dusts] Renee sprinkled to banish the other netherans was already at its limits.
After a few more seconds it would disperse totally!
Putting away his sword, Jake eyed the female creature who also had the same thoughts as him.
Glancing at a nearby small window, he took a deep breath and sprinted at it, taking the first action.
As soon as he jumped out of the window, the [Holy Dusts] fully dispersed, and the netherans rushed inside, furious that someone had killed their queen.
Jake didn't think when he dived out of the window. He laid in the air for a few seconds.
Suddenly, an icy step appeared beneath him, before he could land on the ground.
Using his energy rapidly, he created a trail of steps in front of him leading to the sky.
He dashed on all of them as he soon found it hard to create more steps.
He could hear the loud screams of the banshees and the screeches of the wraith. He didn't need someone to tell him that he was being pursued by the entire town-filled netherans.
He had already predicted the scenario and also analyzed the best path to take was the one he currently took.

All incorporeal netherans had the ability to levitate. However, she couldn't high in the air like birds. So, he used that to his advantage.
He used his steps to try to create an undisturbed escape path for him.
It was like running on water.
His steps couldn't float in the air. However, if he used his speed, he could bypass the period when the steps disperse due to his weight.
It was like running on water. He had to be fast enough to take his next step before the water retention period ended.
While he was running, Jake's senses caught something, 'Hmmm….'
There was someone behind him, also running on the steps he made before they disappear.
He could tell from the description his senses sent back to him that it was the female candidate.
'This is going to be troublesome. There is also a very powerful wraith keeping up with me on the ground,' sighed Jake.
As he looked forward, he could see the blue veil of the barrier.
He smiled as he was already there.
His destination was the same location where the closed gap on the barrier was located.
Previously, he had told Eden that it would take time to re-open the gap, but that was only when two or more people want to pass through.
After a lot of thinking, he had found a way that could take only him through the barrier.
It was quite simple. Simple the gap needed something to upset its calm state, then if he was the something, then he would be able to pierce through.
If he was able to aggressively upset it, then he wouldn't need to maintain and expand the tiny hole his aggressiveness would create.
Recapping his thoughts, Jake got within feet of the gap.

He started to create steps that would descend him to ground-level and instantly charged himself with his [Ligthning element]!
Within the span of a breath, he touched the cold ground and blitzed to the gap.
*Buzzzz!*
The streak of lightning on him fought with the strength of the barrier.
He only had one goal; disrupt!
*Scream!!*
Fueled by the thought of the netherans getting to him, Jake got absorbed by the barrier and was shot out at the other end, marking the success of his escape.
*Shui!*
He wasn't the only one though. The female candidate had been right behind him, while the fastest wraith had jump through the gap just in time.
The other netherans were late. The barrier gap swiftly closed in their faces.
The screams of unattended fury could be heard from the other side of the veil.
*Scream!*
'It's not over yet' sighed Jake.
*Snarl!*
He didn't even get the time to rekindle with the familiar grassy plain.
Like a man on a mission, he brought out his sword and faced the wraith who snarled at him.
Beside him was the female candidate who materialized her beloved daggers.
The two candidates looked at each other. They once again had the same thoughts and they acted on them.
Jake blitzed with still remaining lightning charge at the wraith.
He appeared to throw a kick at the wraith, but the netheran had seen through it.
However, when it dodged, a leg came out of nowhere and smashed its face.
Furious, the wraith wisped around to Jake and attempted to [Life Drain] him.
Jake, of course, knew to distance himself.
He positioned himself in front of the female candidate and when the wraith tried to pounce on Jake again, Jake bent his head!
Two daggers shot through the space he made and embedded themselves into the wispy head of the wraith.
The signature daggers were from the female candidate!
Not long later, the wraith died after a few more attempts on Jake.
Seeing the creature die, Jake dropped to his knees to catch his breath. The entire situation was tasking to overcome.
Any little step and he would have died.
Who would have thought that out of all the entire bounty hunters, he would be the only survivor?
He reckoned that if not for the intervention of the female candidate, the Teglycas would have successfully killed the banshee queen.
His mind switched back to his surrounding.
He saw the approaching figure of the female candidate and the evil look in her eyes which betrayed her intentions.
'So, it's not over yet,' sighed Jake.

My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe...
Xavier had a happy, humdrum life: normal friendships, a normal girlfriend, a somewhat oddball family. Until, that is, he literally stumbled through the fourth wall and discovered he was the protagonist of a manga. Now he's scrambling to maintain any semblance of control over his own life in the face of something he never imagined he would need to contend with: the power of the Genre. Hello, E.O. Tenkey here; thank you for your interest in "Not A Manga"! This was my first serial novel, and I hope you enjoy Xavier's predicament! Familiarity with manga not required (though it can't hurt)! I look forward to exploring the bounds of the Genre with you. (First volume is rated PG-13 for comic mayhem and light profanity—these are high school students, after all. Second volume is rated PG-13 to R for some violence and similar levels of profanity. Tags may or may not contain spoilers.)

This is the tale of Team Noruva, which consists of a quiet, yet wise healer, a silent, but thoughtful rogue, a knight with an iron will, a wolf beastborn who gained access to the System, and their leader, who ignores the impossible and does whatever he wants, because why the hell not? This is the tale of their adventures and daily lives, their ups and downs, their struggles, successes, and losses. **REGARDING PoV'S*** There will be 5 total PoV's in this story. However, four of them will take several dozen chapters (beginning Chapter 73) to start happening, with the first two "Books" focusing just on Zack, which is why there's the Multiple PoV's tag on here, even though only one's around at first.
