After the role-play had come to an end,

Reuben stared at his Kitten who was seated before him with a hand over her stomach as she laughed to her heart's content.

"It was your idea to role-play so stop laughing!" He pouted while stating his dissatisfaction with her behavior.

It took Lina sometime before she could calm her hysterical laughter at the hilarious play they had just taken part in.

'Why did I never realize that these dialogues only look great in the stories?' She shook her head while recalling the events that had taken place just a few moments ago.

When she had heard Reuben say, 'Serve me', she could not stop her laughter and hence had broken character to laugh out loud.

"Who even speaks like that in real life?" She muttered to herself and shook her head.

The man sitting before her was watching her every expression and was observing how she reacted to each thought that appeared in her mind.

Many women had tried to gain his attention, some even used devious methods to get closer to him but none had succeeded.

'Yet, she attracts my attention even without trying…' He inferred as his eyes would move towards her without his conscious effort.

His attraction towards her was more than just physical, it was on a deeper, emotional level which he was willing to dive into head-first.

Lina snapped out of her thoughts only to find that this man was staring at her in a daze, making her cheeks blush when she saw the indulgent smile on his face.

"Hey, Ruby?" She called out to him in a whisper which seemed to have awakened him from his daze.

Reuben looked down at her and wrapped his arms around her to scoop her into his embrace.

He was now used to staying close to her and did not like the distance between them when it was just the two of them.

Lina did not object to his desire to remain in each other's embrace as she laid her head on his chest.

The man was reclining on the couch while still in the suit he had worn to work and the woman was sprawled out on the couch with her upper body completely resting on him.

As she had nowhere to go and no one to meet, Lina was still in her leisurewear which she wore at home.

The grey shorts she wore only reached up to her mid-thighs while the sweatshirt covered her upper body pretty well.

There was silence between the two as they rested in the same position in complete tranquility.

A few minutes later, it was Reuben who opened his eyes and glanced down at the woman in his arms.

From his point of view, he could see her head following this her entire front view came into his sight.

With her back pressed on his chest and his arms wrapped around her waist, he had a clear view of the front portion of her body.

This meant that his eyes had turned towards the soft fleshy parts of her body which were rising and falling each time she inhaled and exhaled.

'Where does he think he is looking?' Lina thought to herself even when she was well aware that the object of his scrutiny was a certain part of her body.

The heir of the Ming family had no clue that he had been caught as he stared at her in a daze.

'These men think that they can stare without getting caught?' She rolled her eyes at his inadequate attempt to hide his line of sight.

A twinkle of mischievousness appeared in her eyes before they vanished without a trace.

While Reuben was admiring his Kitten, out of nowhere he noticed her turning around and scooting away from him.

Just as he was about to complain about her action of distancing herself from him, he watched as she leaned closer and placed a pillow on his lap.

"I feel like this is a better position." She mumbled and laid her head on his lap.

The man was astonished at her series of actions but at the same time, he was grateful that she had placed the pillow between their bodies.

The sight of her perky breasts was in his view once again and this time they were clearer and closer than before.

Lina hid the smirk and held his left hand, playing with his long bony fingers.

"How was work?" She inquired about his day at the office with a smile.

'Let's see if you can multitask and not get caught.' She snickered in her heart at this man who was growing bolder with each passing day.

"It takes time to move from bodyguard to assistant." She added and lowered their hands which had been held together.

There was surprise apparent on his face which elicited a hearty chuckle from the woman.

"How did you know?" He retorted with a question of his own.

Trigger being the head of security for the CEO of the Ming Enterprises was a well-kept secret so there was no way that she could have heard it from anyone else.

To answer his question, Lina rolled her eyes at him.

"Trigger had an oppressive aura around him, proving that he was not a simple man who had joined the post of your assistant due to his meritorious academic record." She deciphered her thought process before him.

'After all, Benji was just the same when he first started.' She nodded at this thought of the past.

Reuben nodded along with her, expressing that she was right in her deductions.

"Trigger is the head of security for me and my family." He divulged secret information about himself without a care for the world.

Lina smiled as she was happy to be privy to this confidential information.

Her smile widened when she felt his right hand run through her soft hair, giving her scalp a gentle massage as he moved through them.

"Hmmm…" She let out a subconscious moan which surprised her.

Her cheeks turned bright red as she looked away from his gaze.

On the screen of the big TV, she could see their reflections, and his smile while looking at her made her heart overwhelm with a subtle sweetness that she was beginning to yearn for.

Her hands were clutching his other hand and they were now resting on her flat belly while she continued to play around with his fingers.

"How was your day?" Reuben's voice was lower and huskier than before when he tossed this question at her.

The gravel in his voice only made Lina's hormones to rage inside her body.

"Managed to get a lot of work done today." She struggled to keep her tone neutral without acting suspiciously.

Reuben had no idea about the effect his massage and his voice were having on her so he continued to do what he had been doing all along.

'I need to put an end to this.' She decided and sat up straight.

Gloomy as she was at her failed attempt to tease him, she coughed to alleviate her awkwardness.

She wanted to catch him red-handed ogling at her chest but instead, she was beginning to feel a strange sensation when he was not even doing anything lewd to her.

'Just how perverted have I become?' She wondered and scoffed at her weak endurance which was beginning to seem like the bane of her existence.

"Why don't you freshen up while I call for our dinner?" She inquired but it looked like she had no intention of waiting for his reply.

Reuben's face had amusement written all over it when he saw how she had picked up the phone before he could agree to her proposal.

'Looks like I am being kicked out…' He acquiesced to his fate and rose from his seat.

He still had to move back to his suite next door as his clothes were over there.

'I'll ask the manager to shift my things here tomorrow.' He decided and took one last look at her before rising from his seat.

Lina felt his gaze but did not look at him as she continued to stare at the phone with her head lowered.

Unhappy with the lack of attention he was receiving, Reuben decided to make a move of his own as he leaned down to kiss the crown of her head.

After his surprise kiss, he did not wait to see her expression and left the room to get washed and into fresh nightwear.

Listening to the sound of the door shutting, Lina finally raised her head and her bright flushed cheeks came into view.

"Stupid Ruby! Making me think of such lewd things even without doing anything!" She scowled at him and cupped her cheeks.

The sensations in her stomach she was feeling right now were similar to those she had felt while Reuben and she had experienced that intimate moment on the couch back at his penthouse apartment.

However, she was quick to catch herself, and shaking those thoughts away she called the Manager to send their dinner over.
