Standing Right Next To You Chapter 342

Mathew and Benji stood before the elevator on the top floor as they waited for their bosses to arrive.
The shorter assistant had pulled the bigger, gigantic man into the elevator next to the CEO's private elevator after the couple had entered theirs.
'This one is a speed elevator so why have they not arrived yet?' He wondered and began scratching his head as he tried to make sense of the matter.
"Is the elevator broken?" He muttered to himself which brought a mocking snort from the man who stood next to him.
Benji rolled his eyes and then pointed his finger at the panel which indicated the floor number the elevator would be on.
"A horny demon broke your elevator." He scoffed as he watched the number which did not move.
Mathew finally turned to look at the same panel and found that the number had been stuck on 28 without moving higher.
A flash of understanding passed through his eyes when he saw the panel fixated on the same 28.
'Boss stopped the elevator…' He muttered to himself and was equal parts horrified and proud of the man who had made the bold move.
Horrified because of how brave and open he was by stopping the elevator and proud that he was moving in the right direction in his attempt to woo Lina.
Benji sneered at the other assistant who was holding in his squeals of excitement after realizing why the elevator was being delayed.
'Are they doing it right in there?' Mathew wondered and blushed as he recalled that he had never done it in the elevator with his wife.
Thus began his mental preparations to find a nice and secure elevator to do it in with his wife once their baby was delivered.
Thinking of his wife and child, he forgot about the couple stuck in the elevator.

"What's with that weird expression?" Benji interrogated when he saw the strange and enthusiastic smile on his face.
Mathew snapped out of his joyful thoughts of becoming a father for the first time and looked up at the other assistant.
'Oh, right! Boss gave me a mission!' He exclaimed and was mad at himself for almost forgetting about it.
Putting on an amicable and appeasing smile, he patted Benji on the shoulder.
"Nothing at all." He refused the claims that Benji had made.
"Why don't I take you to my desk while we wait for them to arrive?" He offered and began walking away before he got an answer.
Benji was left with no other options but to shake his head and follow Mathew but not before glancing over his shoulder to look at the floor number.
'Still at 28.' He scoffed and walked in the direction that Mathew had left.
The lady was at the front desk and the employees who had witnessed everything in the lobby, the people who worked on the 28th floor, and the other secretaries who worked on the CEO's floor.
Every single one of these was watching the panel on the elevator doors which displayed the floor number on it.
The people in the lobby were wondering why the elevator wasn't moving higher as their CEO and the new woman was still in it.
While the people who worked on the 28th floor were waiting for the doors to open so that they might welcome their boss but the doors never opened.
The directors in charge of that floor waited in nervous anxiety as they watched the doors without blinking.
On the top floor, the secretaries continued doing their job but kept taking peeks at the doors which had not yet opened.
They had watched their CEO and his assistant enter the same elevator and go downstairs a few minutes earlier.

However, only the assistant had come back upstairs and he had brought a foreign-looking huge man along with him while their boss had not yet arrived.
They looked at the closed elevator doors and then at Assistant Kim who was chatting with the stranger whom they had never seen before.
The heads which had turned in the direction of the elevator after hearing the sound of the doors opening were quick to be lowered the moment they saw the CEO arriving.
Lina and Reuben stood at an appropriate distance from each other as they stepped out of the elevator.
Reuben scanned the room and was pleased when he saw the employees doing their work instead of loitering around and wasting time.
Once again, he held his Kitten's hand as he smiled while looking down at her.
"Come, Kitten." He invited and led her straight to his office room.
The distance between them and the cordial behavior which the secretaries had just witnessed did not give them the entire picture of what had happened in the elevator.
If they had taken a better look at the two who just arrived then they would have picked up on something strange for sure.
For example, the fact that the Emperor had his shirt creased, the woman next to him had her cheeks flushed and her lips swollen.
His satisfied smile and the bright bite mark over his neck were the biggest clues for them to discover that something strange had taken place inside that elevator.
Sadly, the fear of annoying their boss did not allow them to take a closer look at the people who had passed them by.
Now they wouldn't get that chance as their Ice Emperor had already escorted his lady companion into the office room.
Mathew and Benji watched the two with wide eyes as they entered the office without giving them a single glance.
"Did they just forget about us?" Mathew muttered to himself as a pout appeared on his lips.
"They tend to do that when they are together." Benji commented as he had experienced being the forgotten one when he had hung out with them.
He could only pat the sulking man's shoulder to console him and gestured for him to continue the conversation that they had been partaking in earlier.
"As I was saying before, we will be having lunch at this restaurant where…" Mathew began explaining about the place where he had booked a private room for the couple who were inside the CEO's office.

Inside the office room,
The moment Lina entered the room, she let out a loud sigh of relief and patted her chest to calm her pounding chest.
"Relax, Kitten. I am sure that no one must have noticed the large mark you left on my neck." The man next to her teased with a devilish smirk.
Lina looked up at him with a glare and narrowed her eyes dangerously at his snide remark.
"I am sure that they did not notice that this Kitten is a wild one." He reassured her but she knew that he was just teasing her.
Not taking her continuous glares seriously, he held her hand and led her to the couch to let her take a seat.
He then sat next to her, however, he moved quickly and in the next moment, she was seated on his lap.
Lina's surprise at his actions faded soon enough and she shook her head at this boyfriend who always wanted her to be close to him.
