Lina was quick to look away as she had no explanation as to why she was behaving in such a ridiculous manner.

'We did not have a love at first sight so what exactly was I expecting him to say?' She scoffed at her high expectations which had caused her mood to sour.

Reuben shook his head at the Kitten who had averted her eyes after taking a single at him.

'She tries to avoid the issue once she touches it. My Kitten avoids conflict at all times.' He let out a chuckle after he realized this trait about her.

"In a hurry to go somewhere?" He inquired as he placed his hands on either side of her head.

Lina glimpsed at the Kabedon position that he had trapped her in following which she finally looked at him.

"Back to my room." She whispered as she maintained eye contact this time.

'Her room…' Reuben was happy to hear her calling the room that he had prepared as hers.

This indicated that she was not averse to the thought of them living together even if that only meant for a few days or hours that she could spend at his place.

'Get back to the matter at hand!' He reprimanded his wandering mind which was deviating from the issue that they had yet to solve.

He had figured out what had caused his girlfriend's displeasure and now it was time for him to remedy it.

"Kitten, I kept the picture because at that time I felt the need to do so." He uttered while looking her straight in the eyes.

Lina did not blink as she stared into dark eyes, trying to make sense of what he had just spoken.

Not giving her a chance to overthink about what he had said, he continued without taking a break.

"Us… Together… I liked the thought of that and hence I had saved that image." He confessed why he had done so.

When his father had shown that picture to him and his mom, Reuben was enchanted by how they had appeared in the image.

He had not yet understood what he was feeling back then and had chalked it up to be his curiosity about the woman who had caught his eye.

However, now that he recalled all of their meetings and interactions, he was sure of what it was.

'She had attracted my attention at the airport before I was aware of the previous connection between us.' He surmised as a smile appeared on his lips.

After that incident, everywhere he saw her, he could not help but take a second glance at her.

"Kitten, you had stolen my attention since the first time we've met." He divulged a secret that he had kept hidden in his heart until now.

Lina's eyes widened when she heard the subtle confession in his words and her heart thumped louder than ever.

Though they had not fallen in love at first sight, they both could not deny the fact that they had observed the other person whenever they met each other by accident or a strange stroke of fate.

Lina recalled the multiple incidents where they had met and each time, her eyes had moved in his direction without her making a conscious effort to do so.

"I did not know what it meant back then but now I do." He whispered while leaning closer to her ear.

The hot breath that fell over her ear made Lina wish to scratch her ear but did not dare to move as she waited for him to complete his sentence.

"I've liked you for quite some time but I did not understand it until we had our first kiss." He continued to whisper and even went as far as biting her earlobe.

The shivers running down her spine indicated that though this was a new experience for her, she didn't seem to hate what he was doing to her.

Taking her silence as her approval, Reuben bit her ear harder and began sucking it.

"Hmmm…" The whimpering moan that escaped her lips made her blush furiously as she had made no such sound ever before.

Reuben smirked when he heard the moan and lowered his hands until they reached her hips.

"Our kiss opened up a gateway for the feelings that I was finding hard to distinguish in my heart." His soft whisper landed on her ears making her nod in a daze.

Her eyes were shut and her hands had clenched his pajama's shirt which even she was not aware of.

His words coupled with his actions were assaulting both her heart and her body.

Her displeasure and dissatisfaction at what had taken place earlier had left her mind and all that remained was this soft fluffy feeling which she was enjoying without any end.

Noticing her expressions and the subtle smile on her face, Reuben was sure that she had gotten what he had been trying to explain to her.

Nevertheless, he decided to let her know how he truly felt to avoid any further misunderstandings and miscommunications on their part.

"Lina Yang, I've liked you long before we started dating." He declared in a resolute voice which echoed in her ears.

This declaration made her heart thump rapidly as she looked up at him.

Her next actions left Reuben stunned as he faltered and stumbled backward a couple of steps before steadying himself.

Looking down, he chuckled and shook his head at the little Kitten who had pounced on him with her arms wrapped around him like that of an octopus.

Lina could not stop herself as she had leaped forward to hug him which had made the man stumble backward as he was now bearing both of their body weights.

"I like you too, Ruby! Quite a lot more than what I had thought I did!" She muttered her confession as she stuck her face close to his chest.

Afraid that he might see the glaring blush on her face, she did not lift her head upwards to look at him but how could Reuben let her do as she pleased.

The man was overjoyed at her confession after expressing his own and this made him laugh out loud as he lifted her chin to look up at him.

Lina could feel the rumble from his chest due to his laughter which made her realize that their bodies were stuck close to each other.

Just as she had tried to extricate herself from him, he held her back causing her to remain in the same position as she did until now.

One hand holding her in place and the other under her chin, the man had secured her right where he wanted her to be.

"Kitten…" He uttered in a deep and gruff voice which was making Lina's ears tingle.

'Is this what people mean when they say 'to make someone pregnant with their voice'?' She wondered as she looked him in the eye.

The smirk on his face as he leaned closer to her made her feel flustered but she could not move away as he had held her in place.

"Did you just pounce on me?" He questioned as the smirk deepened and his eyes darkened.
