The vicious look on Talia Zheng's face was causing Mandy and Valerie to shiver but Jeanette's mind was too engrossed in seeking the justice that she had failed to notice this peculiarity.

Valerie had been trying her best to remain unnoticed from her sister's eyes and she had been successful until now as Talia's darkening eyes had not turned towards her even once.

"I did everything that you asked me to so what right do you have to slap me!?" The only daughter of the Liang family yelled out.

Her cheeks were once again stained with her tears and the swell on one side of her face was becoming evident with each passing second.

Supporting her body's weight on the table just beside her, she rose to her feet and then stood at the same eye level with her present opponent.

When Talia noticed that action of the other woman, she scoffed and stood straight which made her an inch taller than Jeanette.

Looking down at the woman with the cast on her leg, Talia Zheng hooked her lips to form a half-smile which seemed as though she was mocking Jeanette.

The humiliation that she had felt today with her crush denouncing her in the presence of all the influential women in the city coupled with Mrs. Huo's lecture had already driven her mood to the ground.

Now, she was struck by this so-called 'Queen' of the socialites and was being mocked so blatantly.

"You asked me to use my injury as a sword against Lina and I did as you had said!" She repeated her words and stared back at the woman.

'What did she just say?' The Zheng family's daughter felt incredulous as she heard these words.

Talia let out a sarcastic chuckle which soon faded and the viciousness reappeared in her eyes.

"Did just as I had said? You dare to say that to my face after what just happened!?" She growled at the shorter woman and took a step forward.

The injury had never been part of the plan until Talia was informed of the little scuffle between Jeanette and Lina.

This made her improvise the plan and the new strategy was soon thought of.

"I had asked you to simply mention it and not come in a cast to gain sympathy!" She exclaimed while glaring at her.

Talia had even excused this matter when Jeanette had shown up in that full-blown exaggerated cast over her leg when all she had was an injured ankle.

"You ruined my plans by bringing Wayne Luo into the mix and worse… to this party!" She scowled at Jeanette who was left stunned at this loud uproar.

When Valerie and Mandy heard of the reason why Talia had slapped Jeanette and was so mad at her, they felt that her anger and fury were reasonable.

'If she had not asked brother Wayne to come here then none of this would have happened.' Mandy Rong was on Talia's side in this argument.

Valerie nodded as she was always on the side that her sister stood.

'Though Mrs. Huo was being vocal about Lina's innocence, a few more words and her voice would have been overpowered by the other women.' She recalled the events that had just taken place.

The women were doubting Mandy but they were still too trusting towards Jeanette but all of that trust faded away once Wayne arrived at the party.

How could Jeanette miss out on the perfect opportunity to let everyone know that she was superior when compared to them?

Indeed, she had worked hard in order to force her way into Wayne's heart and she refused to let that chance slip away to flaunt her relationship to the world.

Though the well thought out plan in her mind had failed brutally.

The relationship that she had made up in her mind was all but imaginary and the harsh reality check that she had received at this party had already given her a heavy blow.

"Everything that we had planned for went down the drain with the arrival of that manwhore who can't keep his dick in his pants!" Talia sneered at Wayne who was a well-reputed womanizer in the city.

The moment these derogatory words were spoken against that man that she loved dearly, Jeanette's anger skyrocketed as she glared at this woman who thought of herself to be above everyone else.

"Who are you to speak about my Wayne in that way, huh!?" She growled in retort which made the spectators drop their jaws.

They had always seen this woman being meek and mild even when she was executed the vilest of plans yet today, she was roaring at none other than the powerful Miss Zheng.

Talia was astonished to hear the loud voice that had left her mouth and she was stunned for a few seconds.

Given the chance to speak her mind, she sneered at the woman who stood opposite her with her mouth wide open.

"You speak as though Mr. Ming is not the same type of man as my Wayne." She taunted and then raised her chin high with her nose high up in the air.

This sentence made Talia and the others tilt their heads as now they were utterly confused as to what Jeanette meant by those words.

Though they did not have to wait for long as they would soon receive the answers to their questions.

"After all, the man for whom you have done everything today was also present in that very same restaurant on that day when I confronted Lina." She revealed which elicited gasps from everyone.

Valerie knew that she and her sister had selected that restaurant because Reuben was said to appear there but she had been unaware of this twist in the story.

"Not only was he at that restaurant, but he had also been in the same room with Lina and the others which meant that they had come over together." She continued to expose the truth in her fury.

Talia's shocked and hurt face was worth divulging the information that she had meant to keep a secret all along.

'Now do you feel my pain?' She sneered as she raised her brows at Talia Zheng.
