'Ah, the look on her face was priceless!' Reuben turned around and headed towards the door.

Checking the contact that he had just received, he saved it with 'Insolent kitten' which was an upgrade from the previous name 'insolent girl'.

As he walked out of the door, immediately his assistant ran after him.

"Assistant Kim, I hope you handle things well over here. I do not want anyone to know what had happened last night. Especially about Lina, it will definitely affect her in an adverse manner if word about this got out." He instructed his assistant sternly and was satisfied with his serious nod.

'I can't be the cause of my benefactor's problems.' He shook his head decisively and took a step forward.

"Don't worry, boss. I won't let anything bad happen to Li… Miss Lina." He cheerfully saluted.

Mathew wanted to just call her 'Lina' but when he saw his boss' side glance, he quickly changed the way he addressed her.

"Brother Reuben?" There came a sound from behind and the two men turned around to see who it was.

"I thought I had heard an annoying bee buzzing around, turns out it was just your assistant." Talia Zheng stood before them and tightened the knot of the bathrobe she had on.

She had just gotten out of the shower and when she heard Mathew's loud voice in the hallway, she desperately rushed out to see if Reuben was also there.

Seeing the man she had been patiently waiting for the entire night, Talia felt her emotions getting messed up.

She was happy to see him yet she was angry that he had not even bothered to show up last night.

'Did the drug not take effect? I shouldn't have trusted Valerie's herbal nonsense!' She frowned when she noticed that he looked just as he usually did, cold and indifferent.

"Might I ask why you are coming out from my Boss' room?" Mathew Kim did the talking for his Emperor.

'I'm so glad that the Emperor spent the night with Lina rather than this ugly fish!' He scowled at her.

"Why should I answer to a mere servant like you? Your work is just to cater to Brother Reuben's needs, so don't interfere in other things!' Talia glared at him with contempt.

"That's enough! I better not hear another word from your mouth. He is an employee, not a servant but I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference." Reuben's face showed no emotions when he spoke to her in a harsh manner.

'If it wasn't that our mothers are close friends, I wouldn't mind getting her entire business to shut down!' He clenched his fists and was just about to walk away when he heard her weak sobs.

"I do so much for you and yet all I get is your hostility and scorn. Why can't you be nice to me? Is your 'employee' more important than me?" She looked up at him with tears forming in her eyes.

'Oh, I know exactly how much you did for me?' He glowered thinking about the drug that had almost made him commit a heinous crime.

"Don't think that boss doesn't know exactly why you come out of his room!" The big-mouthed Asst Kim instantly spilled the beans.

'Such a gossip queen.' Reuben rolled his eyes but looking at Talia's expression of horror soothed his anger.

"I.. I don't know what you are talking about. I was just…" Talia was trying hard to think of a reasonable explanation for Mathew's accusations.

'I'm sure Aunt Renee will support me if she came to know about this because she too wants us to get married. I have nothing to hide!' She looked back at Reuben and adorably blinked her eyes.

'Does she had some trash stuck in her eyes?' Mathew wondered when he saw her weird actions.

"Even if I did something, it was only because I love you so much and I just want you to realize that you love me too." She quickly wiped her tears and beamed at him.

'Say what?' Both the men were surprised by her sudden confession and looked at each other.

"Remember how you used to teach me whenever I had my exams? Those are some of my fondest memories with you. Why can't we go back to those days?" She stepped towards him.

Though they were separated by a few feet, Mathew immediately stood between the two of them.

'Huh?' It took Reuben a couple of seconds to recall what she was talking about.

"I only did that because my mother forced me to. You were miserably failing and the other teachers had quit because you were too dumb." He explained with a blank face.

"If that is the reason you keep following me around then you can stop right now. I was threatened to help you out. Why else would I waste my precious time with you?" He shattered the sweet memories that she had of their childhood without any remorse.

'I wonder if I would have been spared from years of being annoyed by her if I had explained it to her sooner?' He wondered but soon got his answer.

"I don't care if my past memories were all a lie but I still have the present and I can do anything to prove that I truly do love you." She suppressed the bitterness in her heart and forced herself to smile.

'Brother Reuben can only be mine! I was destined to be your wife and that is what I will be!' She clenched her fists and took another step towards him.

'She's starting to piss me off now!' Reuben's limited patience was nearing its end.

"Reuben? Why are you still here? You seemed so eager to leave earlier." He heard a sarcastic voice from his side.

When he turned towards that direction, he saw Lina walking out and then she closed the door.

'What great timing!' He smirked like an evil genius after formulating his devious plan.

Just as she was about to lock the door, Reuben stretched his hand and pulled her into his arms.

With the force that he had used, she was now completely in his embrace and his hand snaked around her waist as he held her in place.

'Why does he keep pulling me into his arms so casually?' Her brows furrowed.

Lina was not used to being manhandled this way so she fiercely glared at him. Meanwhile, Asst Kim locked the door and handed her the keycard which she accepted gratefully.

When she looked back at Reuben she found that his eyes were on someone else, so Lina too turned and looked in the same direction.

'Hey, that's his partner from last night.' Just as she was about to say hi or introduce herself, she heard something that made her jaw drop.

"Your feelings would be bothersome for me because my girlfriend might misunderstand something." He brought Lina's hand to his lips and gently pecked on her fingers.

'Girlfriend? What the hell is happening here?' She looked back at the other woman and saw tears welling up in her eyes.

'Ahh… He's rejecting her confession huh? And he's using me as his hammer to break the poor girl's heart? No way!' She sneered at him.

'Like I'll allow you to succeed in your plans!' Reuben had already seen her rebellious attitude and was ready to counterattack.

Just as she was about to open her mouth and expose him, she felt his hot breath on her neck.

"Tell her the truth and I'll tell the world that the mysterious designer LY is a 22 year old girl who still wears onesies to sleep." He whispered in such a soft voice that only she could hear his words.

But those words continuously rang in her ears causing her to freeze entirely.

'How..? How does he know that?' Lina looked at the floor while her mind tried to find answers.

Seeing her stunned face, Reuben quickly got to work.

"As you can see, my girlfriend here is already upset that I am talking to you. She's very possessive and jealous and hates it when other women approach me. So it would be better for your safety if you stay away from me." He kindly warned her.

'Why is he making me out to look like a yandere?'

Lina could hear everything that he said about her being a jealous hot-headed girlfriend and this woke her up from her short trance.

'You want a fake girlfriend, right? I'll give you the best fake girlfriend you'll ever see!' With her head still lowered, her lips lifted into an evil sneer.

When she looked back at him, her entire temperament had changed.

She hugged him back and snuggled close to his chest so much so that there was practically zero space between them.

"Oppa~...!" She spoke in a sickly sweet voice and fluttered her lashes.

Reuben whiplashed towards her when he heard the term of endearment that she had used to call him.

'What is she up to now?' He got worried when he noticed the mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Oppa, who is this strange woman standing naked in the hallway?" She whined and playfully hit him on his chest.

Lina herself cringed when she spoke in such a coquettish tone.

Watching as the sole audience, all Mathew Kim wanted to do right now was to record this legendary scene and show it to his wife.

Talia on the other hand wasn't all that amused when she saw how close the two were standing.

"Brother Reuben, who is she?" Talia interrogated in a loud voice.

"Did you not hear him? I'm his girlfriend, duh!" Lina answered in his stead and flashed her a charming smile.

'I'm sorry, lady but I need to protect my secret." Though she felt bad for fooling this innocent woman, she had no other options.
