Standing Right Next To You Chapter 68

When Lina woke up the next morning, she found that she was alone in bed with no sight of Stacy anywhere.
'I remember getting in the car with Stace and Wayne. Where is she?' She wondered as she sat up in her bed.
Remembering something important, Lina quickly got off the bed and ran to the mirror.
'Don't tell me I slept with my makeup on?' She wiped her face with a cotton pad and was glad to see that there was no trace of makeup on it.
'Stace must have taken it off for me and also changed my clothes.' She blushed while looking down at her PJs because she knew just how handsy Stacy could get.
She then went downstairs while still in her PJs after washing her face. She found Stacy and Wayne at the dining table.
They had already started their breakfast and Wayne waved at her when he noticed her walking towards them.
"How are you? Any headache?" Wayne asked as he poured a glass of pomegranate juice from the tall pitcher on the table and handed it to her.
"I'm blessed enough to not have any hangover even after a night of heavy drinking." She boasted and received a nasty glade from Stacy who was nursing her aching head.
Stacy always had severe headaches after her night outs but that never stopped her from having a little fun.
"Miss here's your hangover soup." Mrs. Ping brought out the bowl for Stacy and she gratefully accepted it.
Mrs. Ping then turned towards Lina and asked what she would like for her breakfast today.
"Some toast and strawberry jam please!" Lina cheerfully requested and Mrs. Ping nodded her head and left to prepare her breakfast.
Soon all three of them had completed eating and sat in the hall talking about their plans for the day.
"I'm just going to sleep for the rest of the day to get rid of this awful headache." Stacy sipped some coconut water and rubbed her throbbing temples.

"What about you, Wayne?" Lina then turned towards him and asked.
Wayne had tied his shoulder-length dirty blonde hair into a half-up ponytail and sat with his feet up on the couch. He was wearing his and Wade's matching grey vertical striped silk PJs.
"I have no plans whatsoever. Wanna hang out?" He offered and Lina excitedly nodded while Stacy religiously shook her head.
"You guys can carry on. I'm going to lay down for a few hours." Stacy bid them goodbye and returned to Lina's room.
Seeing her weary form as she trudged up the stairs, Lina shook her head.
'She knows what happens to her after drinking but she never quits.' Thought the woman who falls asleep anywhere after drinking.
While Lina falls asleep after drinking, Stacy has insomnia and this makes her weak for the entire day.
"She'll be fine after she gets up." Wayne reassured her when he saw Lina's worried face.
"So when do you want to see the presents that I've brought back for you?" When Wayne asked this question, Lina's face glowed just like a fat child being brought to a candy store for the first time.
"Where is it? Gimme gimme…!!" She reached out her grubby little paws and Wayne slapped them away.
'She goes crazy when she hears about presents.' He rolled his eyes and laughed.
"At the Luo house. I'll get them here later." Instantly the glow in Lina's eyes faded.
"I was supposed to meet you immediately after I landed but a friend of mine needed some urgent help. So I couldn't come earlier." Wayne explained what had happened to him.
"Truth be told, I was kidnapped from the airport just so that I can hear my friend cry about the overflowing pictures of gorgeous women on his phone that his mother is trying to set him up with. What an unlucky bastard!" He said in a sarcastic tone and Lina laughed while holding her stomach.
'Idiot is getting things done for him without putting in much effort and yet he's crying about it. What an ungrateful guy!' Lina pitied the poor mother who was doing so much to get him married.

'Even all those novels show arranged marriage as a feudalistic burden. But that's only because the MC would already like someone and be forced to marry someone else.' She was glad that she's too young to even think about marriage.
"Seriously? Is that why you were in the club last night?" After she was done laughing she asked him and saw him agree with a nod.
"That friend of mine owns the club. You're welcome to go there anytime you want. No charges at all. I can get you guys all-access passes." Wayne offered as he boasted about his friend.
"I would rather not go there again." She rejected his offer when she recalled those two men from last night.
'That was a feeling I do not want to feel ever again. It was creepy and suffocating.' This was not the first time that men stared at her inappropriately but this was something different, something devious.
She cringed and had goosebumps all over her arms when she thought of it.
"What's wrong Nana? Did something happen last night?" Wayne noticed how she rubbed her arms and got worried.
'It's no use hiding anything from them. I better tell him what happened.'
Lina then retold everything that had happened last night, how she felt very weird like they would harm her if she stayed near them any longer.
The more Wayne heard, the more his anger rose. The veins on his hands were popping out because he was clenching his muscles tight.
'Nana was always able to identify when someone was trying to harm her. She has great perception so I know that something might have happened to her if she did not leave immediately.' Wayne pulled her in for a hug and rubbed her back slowly.
"It's okay, Nana. Let big brother take care of this matter." Wayne said through his gritted teeth.
Lina could feel his anger rising but she could not see the intense hatred that was flashing in his eyes.
'Some lowly rats tried to take advantage of my baby sister. Looks like they are tired of living.' His smile looked scary as hell but it instantly vanished when Lina let go of the hug.
"Don't do anything stupid or illegal, okay?" Lina reminded him and he sweetly smiled and agreed.
'Reuben owes me an explanation! How the hell is he managing his club!?' Wayne was sure to give his friend a piece of his mind.
"I'll just ask my friend to make sure that such things don't happen in the future. Nothing illegal in that." Wayne's smile looked harmless but Lina knew what hid underneath that angelic smile.
"Okay. Just be safe." She knew that he would do whatever he had planned so she did not interfere any further
"Let's play some video games to forget about this unhappy incident?" Wayne offered to get her mind off this matter and he succeeded.
"DTD!" Lina yelled and immediately pulled her phone out.
Wayne and Lina were both fanatics of 'Doom to the Dynasty' and constantly tried to reach the top level to win a chance at beating the Emperor.
Soon the two crazy fans were yelling obscenities at each other when either of them messed up, causing their tag team to be killed and be back at the beginning.
"Wayne, use those eyes that uncle and aunt gave! Can't you see that they just ambushed us!!!" Lina hit him on his face with a pillow as she yelled.
"Nana! They were behind me! Sorry, but my mother gave birth to a human and not an alien with eyes at the back of his head!" He huffed sarcastically and threw the pillow aside.
"Rematch!" Both of them refused to take the blame for their defeat and decided to have another match.
