The Copy Mage Chapter 184

The Monkey Beast was snuggled in Damian's right arm and in his left, Damian held tightly on his bow and the knife that he had used to carve the beast meat.
Although the knife wasn't meant for combat, it was sharp and having a weapon was better than nothing, since his bow couldn't be used in close combat.
If Damian was suddenly attacked, he wouldn't have enough time to form a weapon using his energy, by using what he had learnt from the Arrow Beam Skill, so it was best for him to be prepared.
Petting the hair of the Monkey Beast, Damian was surprised to see how small it could become, despite the food it ate being multiple times larger than its entire body.
{Get rid of that beast or get away from it, you shouldn't trust beasts. I thought you were becoming less naive and ignorant, but how could you just trust a beast, especially such a powerful, unusual and unpredictable beast} scolded Utsusu within Damian's mind.
[I trust my instincts and I trust you and know you are looking out for me, but I believe this beast means me no harm and I will keep it accompanying me for the time being] stated Damian.
Hearing the confidence and assurance in his voice, Utsusu was surprised and stopped trying to get him to get the beast away from him.
"Even if I wanted to get it away from me, even with my full power, I am unsure I can defeat it. it has never suffered a wound, while it also has unknown and unusual abilities along with high level intelligence and learning capabilities. Along with all of that, it is attached to me, has helped me and seems to be a child, so for now, we can agree that this beast is a big help and I couldn't get it away from me even if I wanted to" said Damian to Utsusu.

Utsusu couldn't argue with Damian's knowledge, but he couldn't help but fear the unknown as even Utsusu didn't have any knowledge of what the Moneky Beast could possibly be.
{If he really does manage to somehow tame this weird beast that is attached to him, it will be a big help and boost to his power. Once they both become rank 7 Mortal Cultivators, it might even be enough to make them invincible against most Mortal Cultivators that could be found in the Gobe Country, since they are both very capable and have rare and powerful abilities} said Utsusu to itself.
Damian wanted to stay aware while in his sleep and was trying to enter a semi-unconscious state, where his spiritual sense was still active and spread all around him while he was asleep, but as soon as he closed his eyes, his body lost consciousness and entered a deep sleep.
His strong willpower was the only way his body and mind were able to stay functioning despite all the strain, injuries and fatigued that he had accumulated all at once.
As soon as he closed his eyes for a moment and relaxed, he could no longer hold out and entered a deep slumber where he was completely vulnerable and defenceless.
Even Utsusu who was bound to Damian's soul and shared a mind with him was unable to reach him and even Damian's mind had completely shut down.
He had strained his mind just as much as his body after his battle with the Moose Beast and the Royal Academy Students, which required him to use all kinds of complex techniques and skills.
Despite it being a good thing for Damian's recovery as he peacefully slept with the Monkey Beast cuddled in his arm, Utsusu was extremely worried.
Damian was susceptible to the Monkey Beast, which nested itself in his arm. He was also defenceless against any beasts that approached them, which was likely to occur because of the smell of the cooked Moose Beast and blood attracting nearby beasts.

It was also getting dark and beasts were usually wilder and more likely to become berserk when it was dark, which made it even more dangerous for Damian.
Utsusu was praying that because Damian was high enough for beasts not to notice him or to bother trying to attack him, while he also hoped that the Monkey Beast didn't suddenly become wild.
Usually, Utsusu would lay dormant within Damian's mind and although it might observe what was occurring around Damian occasionally, it would spend a lot of its time gathering information and also condensing and understanding all the things it was discovering.
However, this time Utsusu was on high alert and although it was a spirit, it still enjoyed resting and laying dormant, but since it was unlikely that Damian would wake up if any beasts approached his location, it had no choice but to spread its spiritual sense as far as it could.
Everything seemed to be fine and no beasts were approaching where Damian was, but that was merely because the beasts in the nearby area were being cautious and testing whether the Moose Beast was within its territory or still alive.
Within a few hours, beasts began to slowly enter the Moose Beast's territory and followed the attractive smell of cooked meat and blood to find that there was nobody there.
But with their beady eyes, great vision and the ability to see at night, most beasts found it easy to sense Damian's presence and Utsusu, who could sense what was occurring, was screaming for Damian to wake up.
No matter how much he screamed, Damian was fast asleep and if he regained consciousness, he would have a good chance of getting away since he could use the trees and agility to his advantage as he retreated to a safer area, but that didn't seem possible any longer.
The beasts ranged from rank 3 to 5 and before they all began fighting against each other and creating a small skirmish, they decided to observe what was about to happen next as the beasts that were capable of climbing began making their way up the tree that Damian was resting on.
