The Copy Mage Chapter 175

Damian couldn't sense exactly what was going on, but he suddenly sensed danger along with a surge of energy from the position that the leader of the small group of royal academy students was stood in.
He had sensed that the leader of the group of royal academy students seemed to have tempered his body and was a rank 3 External Cultivator, but sensed that his Internal Cultivation was stronger than that and he had a dangerous and intimidating aura around him.
Focusing on the surge of energy, Damian recognised the energy as Earth Energy and assumed that the leader of the group of royal academy students had a Terra Soul Spirit.
With large amounts of Earth Energy in his palms, the leader of the group of royal academy students placed his hands on the ground and his Soul Spirit seemed to be one that was similar to Julia's in the fact that it allowed him to manipulate an element to create things, but his was slightly different.
The energy in his palms streamed into the ground and he seemed to be able to control it and as soon as it reached the area in front of Damian, he formed a tall wall of rock using the energy that was controlling the mud and rock in the ground.
Damian sensing the energy expected some sort of attack, but hadn't expected a large wall formed of rock to appear before him and it was the first time he had come across a Soul Spirit with such large scale capabilities.
"Damn it" cursed Damian who had no choice but to take a detour, but before he could he suddenly sensed danger coming from beneath him.
"Earth Spike" shouted the leader of the group of royal academy students as he formed a large spike using the ground beneath Damian's feet.

Since Damian was turning, he was stood in the same position from an instant, and the leader of the group of royal academy students had prepared an attack for that moment that was almost impossible to avoid, especially since Damian was in a wounded and drained state.
Damian didn't have his Maxwell Fire Soul Spirit activated to use the Flame Burst Skill, but even if he did have his Maxwell Fire Soul Spirit activated, he wouldn't have enough time to activate the Flame Burst Skill.
It felt like he was on the verge of death and everything seemed to be happening so slowly, but he was still helpless and one other ranged attack was launched towards Damian from another of the royal academy students, while the other two charged towards Damian.
Even if he managed to dodge the spike that was piercing upwards from the ground at incredible speeds and with great explosive power, Damian would have no chance of dodging the second ranged attack or facing the other two students charging towards him.
Damian began thinking about where he went wrong and what he could have done differently, but despite his mind and body resigning to his inevitable death, his spirit was still unwilling to give up.
It felt like an eternity to Damian as his life flashed before his eyes, but in reality, it had merely been a split second and just as he was about to be pierced by the rock spike from bellow and struck in the back by the second ranged attacks, he suddenly felt a burst of power.
His yellow eyes began to glow while his Changeable Energy also began to glow.
Damian could feel it calling out to him to consume all energy forms around him and felt a surge of power, however, before he could or needed to wield the power that awakened within him just before he was about to die, he suddenly felt something pick him up and carry him away.

He was unsure who saved him and had his eyes closed, but he couldn't feel any pain and could feel that he was being carried in someone's arms, so let out a sigh of relief.
Whatever the weird power that he had felt bursting out of his body that linked his eyes, Copy Book, Changeable Energy and entire body disappeared after he no longer seemed to be in imminent danger and Damian wasn't able to summon it back no matter how hard he tried.
Feeling weak and in a lot of pain from the wounds he had all around his body and because he had pushed his body despite the state it was in, Damian felt that he had no chance of fighting and had no choice but to place his hopes in whoever saved him.
Opening his eyes to see who it was that had saved him, Damian couldn't help but scream after what he saw carrying him.
"What the hell are you doing here and why did you save me?" exclaimed Damian as he jumped out of the arms of what was carrying him.
He had jumped out as a reflex and out of fear and shock, but he regretted doing so as he landed on the ground and caused himself even more pain.
When he opened his eyes he saw two bright orange eyes and a hairy face that he recognised as the Monkey Beast that he had previously faced after fighting against the Boar Beast.
The Monkey Beast was young and was the size of a child the last time Damian came across it and it also had a very playful nature despite it beating up Damian and fighting against him.
However this time the Monkey Beast was the size of an adult and its physique looked much different, but Damian couldn't forget those bright and playful orange eyes that reminded him slightly of his own bright yellow eyes.
His saviour was completely unexpected and Damian didn't even know how to react or what to think anymore, however, he was thankful for the Monkey Beast that had let him go previously and saved him this time.
He was unsure what its intentions were, but before he worried about that, he needed to deal with the rest of the Royal Academy Students.

I don't update it as often as I should, but there is a fair amount of content there already. It also contains a page with all the fanart, fan translations, audio books and the like - you can reach it directly by clicking this link. I have a patreon account for those kind people that want to give me money. It also contains info for those who want to donate via paypal. The story was originally posted on fictionpress, back in 2011. When I reached chapter 91, I started uploading the story to RoyalRoad, one chapter per day. The story will continue to be updated on fictionpress as well as here, and can be reached by clicking on this link if somebody is interested, though at this point there is nothing there that isn't also on RoyalRoad. ********************************** The cover you see on the side has been made by a fellow RoyalRoad user Sydorow. Thank you for your time and art skills.

A Soul's Wish
Hey everyone! Just a heads up. I am adding the Traumatising content tag because some parts might be considered as, well, traumatising. I want to point out though, it is not my aim to make a story that focuses on this aspect. Yuki is a college freshman that has been pulled into a fantasy world full of magic and monsters. Without any special talents, at level one, and with only a mere wisp as a companion he will need to figure out how to survive in the hostile environment. As he grows stronger and travels across this new world, he will find friends, make enemies, learn betrayal, overcome obstacles and grow into a hero. Hopefully. His goal? To save a princess, of course. A classic adventure fantasy story set in another world. Cover by the lovely Sara Lucasi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saralucasi/
