The Copy Mage Chapter 174

Everything happened so quickly and swiftly that the royal academy students didn't have enough time to react or warn Damain's target.
Damian held the core in his left hand and the royal academy students found it weird that he chose to hand it over to the weakest in their group that would provide ranged support rather than their leader, but didn't suspect anything from the battered boy.
The royal academy student that Damian chose to give the Beast Core puffed out his chest and proudly, but naively, thought that Damian chose to give the core to him because he seemed to be the best or most prestigious out of the group.
That particular student was always the one that received the least credit for all of their missions and was also the least capable in combat, since he was trained as a supporter, which was why he would seek out any opportunity to undermine others and be praised.
His inferiority complex made it easier for Damian's plan to succeed as Damian lowered his hand and walked over to him.
"Hahaha, at least he knows his place," said the royal academy student as he put out his hand.
He had his guard completely down and as an Internal Cultivator, without his Internal Energy circulated and used to reinforce his body, it wasn't much stronger than the body of an ordainry person.
The other students in the group merely thought that Damian had given it to a random person in the group and didn't think much of it, believing that Damian had given up on his life and submitted to them, while their leader had his suspicions.
"About the message I requested you guys to pass onto my mother, could you tell her I was killed by beasts while hunting and that I was a brave warrior before I died. She always thought of me as a coward and I just want her to be proud of me" said Damian as he neared the royal academy student he was going to had the core over to.

"Did you really think we were going to pass on a message to your peasant mother? We are nobles and you are merely a pleb that is lucky to have even gotten the chance to be in our presence" mocked the student.
Hearing that, Damian couldn't help but become slightly angry as being undermined and abused because of one's status was one of Damian's biggest hates and he had no regrets as he streamed lots of Fire Energy into his right hand.
"Be careful" warned the leader of the royal academy students, realising what Damian was planning, but it was too late for him to intervene and for the student that Damian was attacking to avoid the attack.
There were two metres between Damian and the student before he activated the skill in his right hand that he had intentionally left free.
He had his bow over his shoulder and his bag didn't have anything too valuable in it, especially since he was in a life or death situation that made it so that he didn't care much about what happened to his belongings as long as he survived.
Fire Spear
Damian wasn't planning to use much power in the attack as without reinforcing himself with Internal Energy, it wouldn't take much to take down the Internal Cultivator, but after what he had said, he had no reason to hold back or feel any guilt.
[First, you intend to rob and kill me and then you speak badly of me, my mother and all others that aren't nobles are royals. I will make you regret ever coming here] shouted Damian within his mind as he flung the spear of fire that was in his right hand like a javelin.
With the anger and adrenaline that Damian was experiencing, he was able to regain some of his strength and had sneakily absorbed some energy from the Beast Core, which wouldn't damage its properties or quality and also wouldn't be noticeable.

Damian aimed it directly at the royal academy student's stomach, as he didn't want to aim at the head or chest, which would instantly kill him, and hoped that the other students would stop to heal him or rush him to a hospital, giving him a chance to get away.
The Fire Spear pierced straight through the student's abdominal area and scorched its body and internal organs as it passed by, making it a fatal blow that could and was very likely to kill him.
However, Damian didn't wait to check and didn't care either, as even if he did die, he wouldn't feel any guilt as he had intended to kill him without any provocation in the first place.
Weirdly, Damian felt good that he had struck the student with such a powerful attack and thought of him as a disease in the world that deserved to be exterminated.
In the instant that Damian flung the fire spear, with his great control over his Changeable Energy, he changed it from Fire Energy into Shadow Energy that would give his body different enhancements that were more useful in his current predicament.
Damian experienced a burst of speed and had a few seconds head start since his attack came as a surprise to all of them apart from their leader who was the furthest away from him.
Hearing the leader of the royal academy students warn the student that Damian attacked before he attacked, Damian was surprised, but had also expected something like that from him.
He seemed smart, calm and experienced and was even able to gauge that Damian was on a similar level to himself in terms of talent and capability after observing him for a while with their concealment technique, which showed Damian that he wasn't overly arrogant and was probably slightly more capable than him.
"Not so fast, did you really think you would be able to get away from me in the state you are in and after you attacked one of my subordinates" called out the leader of the royal academy students with an evil smile as he streamed large amounts of energy into his palms.
