The Copy Mage Chapter 167

Killing the Moose Beast and the other beasts that his missions requested him to kill were proof enough that he had the power and capability to become an Inner Academy Student, as even Inner Academy Students would have to think twice before accepting an Intermediate Mission alone, let alone 6.
Damian couldn't see or sense the Moose Beast in the small area around him, but he was quite sure that he would find it in the area or it would return to the area eventually as it was very likely to be its territory.
Most if not all beasts in the beast woods and other beast areas are very territorial and if they were able to do so, would have their own territory that they would protect and use to store their food.
Damian found markings on trees around the area that he had entered while following the hoove print trail, but thought nothing of it at the time, and was now able to link it to how beasts would mark their own territories.
However, Damian was glad that he had found a Moose Beast's territory and he was hoping that it was alone and rank 5, which it was likely to be as according to what he knew, the species of Moose Beasts in the beast woods are only able to reach rank 5.
Beasts just like humans had limits and each beast species would usually have a limit to how powerful it could become, according to research and what had been found so far by cultivators, but it was also stated that beasts could surpass their limits.
Jumping up onto a branch so that Damian had a better view of the nearby area and also a better position to fire his bow, he still didn't see or sense anything.

Damian didn't move around the relatively large area that was marked off as the territory of the Moose Beast and it seemed as though the Moose Beast was not there, as he sat on the branch that was high up and on the edge of his territory.
He had brought his bag up there as well and waited patiently for the Moose Beast to return.
Luckily for him, Moose Beasts would also rarely leave their territory and when they did would only do so for short periods of time, to gather food and drink water.
Moose Beasts were herbivores, meaning they didn't eat any meat, but beasts were able to consume beast cores directly by somehow being able to melt them within their mouths and eat them, and the Moose Beast still had to hunt for beast cores.
However, it was a very passive beast that wouldn't do so regularly and would spend most of its time sleeping, or protecting its territory, which was why Damian was ready to battle at any moment, knowing that it wouldn't be long before it returned.
Waiting for slightly over 10 minutes, Damian could feel and hear a slight rumbling as a large and elegant beast would enormous antlers strode into the area that he was in.
It was the beast that Damian had been waiting for, and with Damian's sharp senses and abundant knowledge, he was able to gauge that the Moose Beast was a rank 5 beast, just like he needed and luckily for him, it seemed to have recently broken through.
That meant that it might not be able to display the full power of a rank 5 and also meant that it would be easier to take down and would have more energy in its meat, as it was yet to fully absorb all the energy within its body into its beast core.

Seeing that, Damian couldn't help but become excited, but he was still cautious and didn't want to underestimate the powerful Moose Beast that was more than capable of killing him with a single powerful attack.
The Moose beast had wide strides and would take a forwards leap every few steps that would cover multiple metres and upon returning to its territory it was instantly alerted of something that was unusual.
It moved around the area that it had marked as its territory and using its sharp sense of smell, it found where Damian had entered from and found its foot prints.
As soon as it saw the human footprints and confirmed that another creature had been within its territory, the moose beast instantly became angry, especially since it recognised the scent and foot prints as that of a human.
It's beady brown eyes instantly became dark red as it suddenly began moving very quickly around the area that Damian had been in, searching for wherever the human could be.
Moose Beasts were very passive beasts that would avoid fighting or hunting unless necessary, but were also very prideful and protective beasts, especially when it came to their own territory.
Once one crossed that line, the Moose Beast would fight wildly with its full power and might even become berserk, which was why Damian was acting so cautiously against it and not getting in close.
Within seconds, the Moose Beast had scoured the area, but it surprisingly looked up directly at Damian, able to figure out and sense that Damian was watching from above.
Damian had been watching the beast the entire time and was surprised by how quickly the Moose Beast realised where he was, but he had already prepared himself to battle the beast at any moment.
He had already been circulating his energy and preparing himself to form arrows using the Arrow Beam Skill, but he realised that it was the thing that tipped off the Moose Beast that seemed to be very sensitive to energy.
Forming an arrow, Damian fired it instantly, aiming directly at the Moose Beast's leg as it flew through the air at incredible speeds.
Damian thought it was a sure hit as the Moose Beast didn't have enough time to dodge it since it was very sudden and not from that far of a distance, but Damian was very much mistaken.

8 2863Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
