The Copy Mage Chapter 162

Entering the Outer Section of the beast woods, there were quite a few beasts, which was to be expected since beasts at lower cultivation levels were much more common and would usually all live in beast areas.
They were easy for Damian to kill, but their beast cores weren't worth much to him and they would be annoying to hunt as although they were numerous and at low cultivation levels, it still required quite a lot of effort and time.
Instead, Damian set his sights on the Inner Section of the beast woods and released his aura to scare off any of the beasts that still wanted to attack him out of desperation.
That way he avoided any unneeded battles that would waste his time and energy, but it also gave others a rough idea and estimate of his power, but Damian didn't release all of his aura, and was jumping from tree to tree without starting any conflict.
Along the way, Damian was chewing on the dried beast meat that he had brought with him and it didn't take long for him to eat all of the dried meat that he had bought without realising it.
His appetite as a cultivator that cultivated both internally and externally, and also as a young growing boy, was very large and he had already eaten all the food that he had brought with him.
However, that wasn't an issue since he was in a woodland that was filled with delicious beasts that were calling out to Damian to hunt, prepare and cook them before scoffing them down.
It took Daman much longer than he had expected to transverse the Outer Section of the beast woods and he had underestimated the sheer size of the beast woods.
After 2 hours of jumping from tree to tree while carrying a big bag on his back, even if he wasn't moving at his full speed, it was still quite tiring and his legs were strained slightly and he felt quite tired.

He also hadn't eaten breakfast and had only eaten the large amount of dried beast meat he had brought with him, which wasn't very fulfilling to eat and he still felt hungry.
Looking around him and spreading his spiritual sense, Damian searched for a beast that was relatively small, rank 3 and looked tasty.
He didn't like wasting resources and that included food as he had seen those that didn't have anything and pitied them, so out of respect for those in bad situations, he only wanted to get food that was enough to fill him and wouldn't go to waste.
Finding a small rabbit-like creature, it looked very similar to a rabbit, but had sharp teeth and claws and was very fast and hostile.
It was the worst kind of target for an archer, but Damian wasn't willing to let it go and it was also a good test for his archery skills.
Damian chased after it for a while and could catch it quite easily if he used his full speed, but maintained a distance between itself and the beast and formed an arrow using the Arrow Beam Skill.
His focus was split on forming the arrow, aiming his bow and maintaining the distance between himself and the beast, while jumping from tree to tree and monitoring his surroundings.
However, Damian's mental capacity was very large after training in many skills and techniques and also practising his ability to multitask as he fired an explosive arrow near to the beast that launched it into the air before firing a second arrow that piece straight through into its stomach.
The beast had surprisingly tough fur, and a single, powerful arrow that was from quite a close distance wasn't enough to kill it, which was to be expected since it was a beast.

If Damian had used that same arrow against a human that was at the same cultivation level as the beast, he was pretty sure that it would be enough for him to win the battle, but the rabbit beast was still moving at rapid speeds.
Instead of running away, it turned around and went to pounce at Damian, but as soon as it did that, a second arrow pierced right into the centre of its head and Damian had poured quite a lot of energy into the arrow and firing of it.
Collecting the body of the relatively small rabbit beast, Damian carried it over to a nearby tree and the arrows that had pierced into the beast, soon disintegrated after not being supplied energy.
Taking out some nails that he had in his bag, Damian hung the dead body of the rabbit beast on the tree and withdrew a carving knife that he had bought before leaving the academy.
Damian began with cutting deeper into the head of the rabbit beast and into its brain, but didn't find the beast core, then checked the centre of its chest, where he found the beast core.
They were the two places where the beast core of a beast were most likely to be found and the blood and organs of the beast didn't affect Damian much.
The beast core was relatively small, but it was still dense in energy and quote valuable as a resource and energy source, so he put it away in his bag.
Following the instructions within his mind that he had memorised, Damian began preparing the beast to cook it and carved its skin before removing all of its organs and throwing it to a nearby beast.
He didn't want to waste any of the beast's body since he had taken its life to use its body and he had seen people that didn't have food to eat, so it wouldn't be fair of him to go around wasting food.
However, he felt slightly better when he gave it to a beast to eat and it was merely a rank 2 beast that wasn't even a threat to Damian at all.
[I am a hunter with great survival skills] thought Damian to himself, impressed by how well he had prepared the rabbit beast's body.

Oblivion Online (complete)
Thanks for permission to use the cover by WanderingInPixels over on Deviant Art. As of 12-15-18, the story is finished. I am planning to edit and will release the books as I finish in one big go, but there isn't a timeline on any of that. Marty had a fairly easy life as a cook for Arctic Storm Entertainment headquarters when he gets an offer from the company to try out a new playstyle for their biggest VRMMORPG, Oblivion Online. Follow him as he makes his way through the game as one of the monster races trying to survive against the forces of light. Author's note: I will update every Monday and Friday for sure, with the possibilities of bonus chapters through the week if I get extra writing done. I also did a disservice to several of my characters early on. I'm slowly working through a re-write, but it will be a while as I want to make sure I get it right this time around.
