The Copy Mage Chapter 142

Damian suddenly jumped up despite his fatigue and injuries, and Milo who was supporting his body was confused as to what was wrong with him,
"What happened?" asked Milo.
"Oh, um, I realised something during our battle that can help me progress, but I need to confirm whether it is right before sharing it with you and the others" answered Damian.
If his realisation really was right, he would have found out something amazing and although it wasn't a secret, not many knew about it and from what he knew, nobody in the Gobe Country had succeeded in doing so.
Milo didn't know what to expect from Damian anymore and sometimes he would realise just how unusual and unique Damian was, especially since he had somehow known more about his ability than himself.
However, Damian had never once done anything that would harm or endanger Milo and had only helped him and supported him since meeting him. Even after he became less naive and more capable, he was still good friends with Milo, which was why Milo had placed him so highly in his mind.
If it came to it, he would risk his life to save that of Damian's and he was quite sure Damian, who was very loyal and quite reckless, would do the same.
They supported each other's bodies up, in a similar way to how they left the Entrance Ceremony and both of their bodies were fatigued and battered after their close spar.
Milo was unsure what exactly Damian had realised and was excited to find out what it was after he confirmed whether it was right or not, but in the state that he was in, he was more focused on recovering and getting back to their residence.
Upon entering, they were both on the verge of collapse and climbing the stairs felt like they were scaling a mountain, but after reaching the top, the both of them were able to stagger into their bedrooms.

"We will be able to compete again during the Inner Student Ceremony," said Milo after bidding Damian farewell.
Damian was surprised to hear that Milo was also planning to take on the Inner Student Exam during the Inner Student Ceremony after only being in the academy for 6 months, but at the rate that his friends were progressing, they would all be able to take on the exam at the same time as him.
It was a shocking thing to see and only great prodigies like Darren and the talented prince were able to have such fast progress and still have strong foundations.
After being left alone, Damian could finally figure out what that weird sensation that he felt during his spar was. He felt as though the low External Cultivation that he had was in harmony with that of his Internal Cultivation and because of that sensation, his power rose massively and his body's energies were no longer split into two parts.
Damian imagined his Internal Energy as a blue flowing liquid around his body and his External Energy as a red energy that was found and spread all around his body in the form of oxygen and fat, as External Energy was just another way to represent stamina.
He had control over the blue liquid using his mind, but the red energy was used automatically his muscles and his body.
He could use the blue liquid to enhance his muscles, but his muscles had a limit when it came to the amount of energy they could handle at once with suffering damage, which was why Damian expended less Internal Energy to reinforce his body after training externally.
The blue energy could be taken out of his body through his pores and by using his mind, a technique and an elemental affinity he could use the blue energy to release different kinds of special attacks.

While the red energy could only be used within his body to enhance it, but when he gained more mastery over it, he could influence where the energy went and how much physical power to release from a muscle to unleash powerful physical attacks.
The blue energy storage was like a well in the dantian, and the size of the well would stay the same, but the density and purity of the energy would increase by compressing it into the well, allowing the cultivator to store more energy. Some of the blue energy was also stored around the body in meridians and the body's energy paths.
While the red energy storage was the entire external physical body and the body's muscles need to be able to hold more energy, and that doesn't necessarily mean they need to be bigger, but just need to be more compressed so that they can unleash more power.
When both the blue and red energy reached harmony and were in sync, where they were both used subconsciously and didn't conflict with each other, the body would be able to unleash a much higher level of power.
Damian was nowhere near skilled or experienced enough to be able to harmonise his low external cultivation with his internal cultivation, but the wonderous hint of that sensation that he felt gave him an idea.
His idea was that to be able to break past the Mortal Cultivation one needs to be able to harmonise both their Internal and External Cultivation.
Although he was nowhere near the peak of the Mortal Cultivation level, it made sense to him why so many people hadn't been able to break past the Mortal Cultivation Level even after decades of trying to do so.
He had replayed what he felt within his mind and tried to reach Utsusu to discuss his idea with him, but Utsusu didn't seem available and so he was left alone contemplating his idea.
It sounded crazy without any validation, but he had a strong feeling that he was onto something and if he really was, then the knowledge that he found out was something that could even cause wars within the country.

Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.

Notice: On hiatus. *profanity tag added just in case a bit of swearing is required, but I'll try to keep it as profanity-lite as possible* RealWorldIII came with the motto "Bringing the imagination back into the gaming" with an innovative skill combination system that promises to create unique (see: not-actually-unique) characters tailored to each player's preferences (see: we-swear-it's-not-random) Alex is a random guy with the motto "Well... whatever" with a history of being at the top of the gaming scene (see: he was a kid back then) that after twenty years of working for daily necessities finds himself facing a tough dilemma: do I go back to being a corporate slave, or do I gain money by playing a game no questions asked? (see: not really a dilemma) The only question is, can an actual "casual", even if ex-pro, survive constantly playing a game? or will he end banging his head on the wall? The story will unfold mainly in-game, with little if any real life events happening.
