The Copy Mage Chapter 112

The first time that Damian forged a blade was very difficult for him, but after replaying how he had done it, to himself within his mindscape, he realised how inefficient he was.
He had burnt his Internal Energy at rapid rates, that his body couldn't handle, and was relying too much on explosive power in the forging process, rather than focusing on being accurate and precise.
As the method had stated, power was necessary and important, but technique was just as important or could be seen as even more important in the forging process, and he would be able to achieve the same or better results with less power and more precision.
He knew he would have a lot of work to do in the blacksmith over the next two days so had prepared himself mentally and had changed his plan of action.
He would heat and hammer one blade, then allow it to be annealed, and while it was being annealed, he would heat and hammer a second blade, then he would repeat the process until he had 3 blades cooling down slowly and being annealed.
After heating and hammering 3 blades, completing the most important and difficult stage of the forgery, he would be very fatigued, but would have some time to recover while the blades were cooling down.
In that time, he would rest and recover his Internal Energy, then complete the forgery of the three blades in order of which one he had begun first, and after he had completed the forgery of the three basic blades, he would be tired once again.
However, he would have a half an hour break after forging 3 blades within 2 hours, which would allow him to rest. He would repeat the process many times a day, aiming to forge at least 18 blades a day, which would require him to work for 12 hours of the day, excluding his breaks.

Damian's plan was very arduous and gruelling, and would be very physically and mentally draining, but it was the best plan for his current strength and situation and the more he practised, the easier it would become.
Just as he had planned, Damian worked his body as much as he could and had managed to reach his target on his first day, forging 18 blades that were all basic and of low quality.
However, for somebody who had only learnt how to forge a basic blade the day before and was still young and quite weak, it was an incredible feat.
Elder Marth gave Damian a large delicious meal, and although it was an act of kindness, he didn't like to show others his nice side and insulted and mocked Damian for his weakness and low-quality weapons.
But it was obvious to Damian that Elder Marth was looking out for him and other than eating at Elder Marth's blacksmith, he had also eaten 3 meals at the canteen, and after completing his task, returned to his residence.
After showering, Damian was too tired to even cultivate and as soon as his head touched the pillow, was fast asleep in his comfortable bed.
He woke up to Utsusu screaming within his mind to wake up and to a body that was sore all over, but he knew that the pain and hard work would pay off and it was worth it for the bow, experience and to increase his strength.
The next day was the same and he had managed to push himself, even more, to be able to form 21 blades, but at the end of it his body had collapsed and he wasn't even sure if he could walk back to his residence.
However, he could see from Elder Marth's face, that he had done well and had fulfilled his end of the deal.

"It seems that you have not only been able to achieve the targets that I set for you, but you also surpassed them. As a man of honour, I have no choice but to give you a bow" stated Elder Marth seeing the 39 low-quality basic blades that Damian had formed.
Basic weapons were weapons that wouldn't give the user any enhancements and couldn't hold energy, and were split into low quality, medium quality, and high quality blades.
There were stories of legendary blades that could hold energy and unleash blade attacks and had other incredible applications, but there weren't publically owned by anybody in the Gobe Country. There also wasn't anybody that had publically revealed that they could forge one, and if somebody did, they would be saught out by all the large organisations in the Gobe Country.
The most commonly wielded weapons were different forms of blades, which were arguably the most well-rounded weapons that were easy to come by and had many manuals and methods explaining how to train in their use.
The quality of a weapon is dictated by its durability, strength, balance, flexibility, weight and hardness, which were dictated by the quality and rarity of the material used in the forging process, along with the skill of the forger.
It was hard to tell the quality of a weapon by just looking at it, but an experienced wielder of weapons or weapon forger would quite easily be able to tell the quality of a blade quite easily and when fighting against it, the quality of the blade was quite obvious.
A low quality weapon would be priced at around 50-100 contribution points depending on the size of weapon, the materials used, and the skill of the weapon forger.
A medium quality weapon would be priced at around 500-100 contribution points, while high quality weapons were rare and the people that could forge them were also scarce, so would be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder.
Damian after being informed this by Elder Marth had a better understanding and idea of how weapon forging worked and at that price range he could sell all the weapons he forged for at least around 2000 contribution points.
However, he also had to add in the cost of working the forge, which required beast cores to operate, and the price of the material, which would still leave him quite lucrative profit for 2 days of work.
The potential for earning as blacksmith or as somebody of any of the cultivation profession was incredible as Elder Marth led Damian, who was barely able to walk, into his weapon storage.
