The Copy Mage Chapter 79

Damian had many questions he wanted to ask, but before he could he was cut off by the Shadow Kin King that was beginning to fade away.

"I know you probably have so many questions, and from what I can see from your strength, humanity has regressed so much over the ages. But I don't have much time left before this form extinguishes, that can only sustain itself for a short while because of the small amount of energy that you provide. I have things that I must inform you of before this soul form extinguishes. It can only be sustained by a short while using the energy that was syphoned from you, which is barely enough to conjure the soul form, and my soul fragment has been placed within your mind near to that of your so-called Soul Spirit" informed him the Shadow Kin King.

"Before I go you must be careful as although the Shadow Kin have been exterminated, those that defeated us are sure to be out there and will kill you for not only being able to use our abilities but also because of your unique constitution. You must be careful" warned the Shadow Kin King.

"I never expected that somebody would actually be able to use our Shadow Kin Skills and Methods after we were wiped out, let alone a human, and only spread out my soul fragments on a whim. But it seems to have paid off. You are now the hope of our fallen race and have gained the fundamental movement skill of our race. Unlike with humans, our skills are unranked and grow with the user's strength and skill in wielding the skill. You right now have the Shadow Step Skill, the fundamental movement skill of our race and has infinite potential. It will grow with you as the cultivator and you have limitless potential" stated the Shadow Kin King.

"I have imprinted our language into your mind and I wish you good luck" he managed to get across before his soul form faded and Damian returned into his body.

Damian suddenly felt himself return to his body as he couldn't help but be in awe of what he had just experienced.

He not only learnt about the existence of other races, that weren't beasts, but he alsorealised that humanity wasn't as powerful and dominant as they thought and there were many other powerful races out their.

[I really am incredibly lucky in this life] thought Damian to himself thinking about everything he gained since he transmigrated.

[With everything I have been given and all of these opportunities, I can't waste them and must become the strongest] stated Damian to himself.

{What happened} asked Utsusu curiously after sensing that Damian had returned.

[I was taken into another space, just like with the scroll, and it seems my luck has been incredible] stated Damian as he began explaining what happened and allowed Utsusu to watch through his memories.

The way it worked for Damian was that he had his own space within his own mind, while Utsusu also seemed to have his own space. Both could intrude on each other, but they didn't want to and would ask before entering each other's areas.

Utsusu could watch through Damian's memories, which included things that he experienced outside of his physical body, while Damian didn't seem to be able to go through Utsusu's memories.

Damian and Utsusu could direct their thoughts to each other to communicate, but each of their thoughts were their own if they didn't want to relay them to each other. They could both intrude on each other's thoughts, but they would easily be able to sense the intrusion and there was no point.

[This is amazing, you are incredibly lucky. If you gather all the soul fragments of the Shadow Kin King, he would be an incredibly powerful being that would be behind you to assist you and could also teach you] exclaimed Utsusu joyfully after watching Damian's memories.

The Shadow Kin Skills were all unique to each user and had infinite potential as long as the user still had the capacity to grow.

Damian opened up the skill book once again, but weirdly the writing no longer looked like jibberish and was understood by his mind.

Utsusu however couldn't and the language that was only embedded in Damian's mind, who began reading through the first few pages of the method.

The most basic technique within the Shadow Steps Skill Book was the Shadow Steps. The Skill Book taught him how to use Dark Shadow Energy and the Shadow Steps Skill, along with anything else about using Dark Shadow Energy through movement skills.

However the rest of the skill was for Damian to build through training and understanding more about Dark Shadow Energy, which seemed to be an element that wasn't one of the base elements and he was yet to come across.

The Shadow Steps Skill, that was formed after Damian had trained i,t could have aspects and applications that were unique to him, just like the other Shadow Kin would have, if they were still alive.

[For now I can use my changeable energy as a substitute for the Dark Shadow Energy, but it might not have the same effects and I need to find real Dark Shadow Energy so that I can use change my energy to match it] decided Damian.

He felt as though he could change his energy to match any of the base elements, which were very common, but he was yet to come across the Dark Shadow Element, so wouldn't be able to change his energy into it.

However currently he only had a Soul Spirit of the Fire Element, and although he could use skills of any element, he wouldn't be able to unleash its true power without copying a Soul Spirit of that element, that would allow him to cultivate upon the Soul Spirit and the element, like he did with his Golden Flame Method.

With a new skill to cultivate, Damian was overjoyed and relieved that he didn't waste the opportunity, but he couldn't help but wonder how wide the cosmos, that the Shadow Kin King spoke of, really were.

Immersing himself in the Shadow Steps Skill, Damian made it his main priority, knowing that it would increase his strength and also his body's ability to store energy, making it easier to cultivate.

Damian spent the rest of the day reading over and learning how to use the basic Shadow Steps Skill, that were explained in the first few pages of the skill book, until he finally found the way to substitute his changeable energy for the Dark Shadow Energy that was needed.

"Finally I did it" he exclaimed as he managed to use his changeable energy in a similar way to how the Dark Shadow Energy was depicted in the Shadow Steps Skill.

Damian couldn't wait to test it out and was itching to go to the Combat Hall to use the training centres, but he decided against it, seeing that it was the middle of the night, and decided to sleep.
