The Copy Mage Chapter 74

Damian and Milo hungrily absorbed energy into their bodies, after expending large amounts of energy to battle against the intelligent monkey beast.
After 2 hours both of them had recovered most of their energy and healed their wounds slightly, and knowing they didn't have much time to finish their mission, they decided they should prepare to leave as soon as they could.
"It should be fine for us to return to the boar beast, as the monkey beast seemed to not have any malicious intentions towards us, and we need to get some evidence that we have completed the mission. We could also sell the body for some money" stated Damian.
Milo lazily wanted to refute Damian's idea, but after hearing that they could earn money from the beast's body, he was completely for what Damian had suggested.
The duo had both shown their strength and loyalty towards each other, so no longer worried about trust or the other betraying them, as they both left the house that they were hiding in, towards the large body of the boar beast.
"Damian how much do you think we can get for it" asked Milo excitedly as he returned to his usual annoying nature.
"I'm not sure, but such a large boar beast has a lot of beast meat and also has tough fur that could be used to make clothing" answered Damian.
Milo jumped up in excitement as he began thinking about all the things he could buy with money, especially food and women that he wanted the most.
Despite his young age, in the world of cultivation, that Damian had transmigrated into, the energy in the atmosphere allowed children to grow much quicker and by the age of 12 to 16, most children had grown to their peak size and were recognised as adults.

"Milo how strong are you," asked Damian competitively, curious to find out how strong he was after seeing his strength, and not getting the opportunity to receive an answer previously.
"Hmmm, well I can display the strength of a rank 3 beast for a short period of time, and the strength of a rank 2 beast for a longer period than that" answered Milo thoughtfully.
"But I currently have only the boar beast bloodline and am only a rank 2 Internal Cultivator. If I want to be able to use other beast bloodlines, I will need to cultivate and understand them before I can use them, and I also need to acquire them" added Milo nonchalantly.
Hearing his strength, that Milo seemed to believe was low and ordinary, Damian was shocked.
Damian was happy for his friend, but also wanted to catch up and surpass his friend, just because of his competitive nature.
[He is currently stronger than me and just like me, he has only acquired one ability up until this point. We are on a similar level and have similar abilities, so the thing that will dictate the difference between us, is how hard we work] stated Damian to himself determinedly.
"From here on out we are brothers and rivals and we will have a friendly competition to see who will be the strongest" declared Damian as he placed out his hand.
Milo remembering his carer's death wish and his own desire to live a prosperous life, suddenly showed drive and seriousness that Damian didn't often see Milo display.
"Yes, and I will be the one to come out on top" stated Milo as he shook his hand.
But the serious Milo only stayed for a few seconds, and soon after, he returned to his annoying and jestful nature.

"How are we splitting the money of the boar beast. I personally think I should get 90%" joked Milo.
"Hell no, I am getting 90%" refuted Damian as he began running towards where the body of the boar beast was.
"Hey, wait up" called out Milo as he ran after him.
The two youths raced towards the boar beasts body, reinforcing their bodies with their Internal Energy, without using their abilities, and after reaching the area they fought in, they both activated their abilities.
"Move away from our body" roared Milo, scaring all the small beasts feeding on the beasts body, that were attracted by the smell of blood.
Milo and Damian charged towards the boar beast with their auras released and scared off all the beasts that had only eaten small amounts of the boar beast's body.
"If we took any longer, they may have taken the body" stated Damian, noticing that the beasts had only just arrived.
Both of them didn't deactivate their abilities and reinforced their bodies, making them equivalent to a rank 2 External Cultivator.
Both of them, even while reinforcing their bodies, felt that the beast body, that weighed around 300 kg, was heavy and was multiple times both of their weight.
But with their bodies that were more than 3 times stronger than the original, while being reinforced by their energy, they were able to lift it together and began carrying it towards the village.
"Damian what are you going to buy with your split of the money," asked Milo.
Damian didn't answer straight away and wasn't sure himself.
"I don't really know. Something that will help me improve my strength" answered Damian after pondering about what he wanted.
The two youths after carrying the large heavy body of the beast stopped at the centre of the village, to take a break and catch their breath, then continued carrying the beast towards the opposite edge of the village, where the carriage was most likely to be.
It took them 15 minutes to reach the other side of the village, while carrying the heavy carcass of the boar beast.
At the edge of the village that was furthest away from the forest and where the battle took place, they saw all the villagers, and luckily their carriage as well, who were hiding from the battle.
Initially, the villagers were scared after seeing the large beast heading towards them in the distance, but when it got closer, they saw two young boys carrying the body that was multiple times bigger than them.
"They are so strong"
"What talented young cultivators"
"They are incredible"
The entire village was shocked by Damian and Milo's display of strength and saw them as their village heroes as they began to sing their praises to the approaching Milo and Damian.

Valor and Violence
Valor and Violence is a series of short stories following different, yet all equally colourful, characters set in the same world. Birth of a Legend, the first short, follows Captain Erskine Erwell, a newly promoted Captain in the Calandorian Royal Navy, charged with protecting his people from all who would do them harm. Great news for the Calandorian citizens, bad news for the Skjar reavers that ravage the shores in search of slaves. But when a small reaver fleet slips the net and escapes to the southern jungles of Marduk, Erwell must fight a war on two fronts; one against the raiders, and a far more difficult war against the hostile landscape. If he can't find allies in this strange land, he may end up being the one in need of saving. The first part of the second short story will be uploaded on Saturday, the 11th of June, following Ferez Ahud, an aspiring young battlemage charged with the unsavoury job of 'terminating' a rogue member of his college. But how this nobody of a mage became a fugitive remains a mystery, and when the answer is discovered, the tables are turned and the hunter becomes the prey. I'll be uploading chapters of more in-universe short stories each week or as close to, work permitting. Content Guidelines: course language and violence

The Edge of Endless
Due to some unforseen and significant life events, this story will be on hiatus for a time. Reborn into a strange but familiar world, Alex makes it his mission to uncover the mysteries of governments, gods, and the arcane realm known only (and inaccurately) as the Unending Depths. Slowly but surely, he grows in ability and meets new and interesting people. tEoE is an epic fantasy LitRPG with a focus on plot, writing, and hopefully original twists on the standard formula of 'MC picks cool class, levels up'. Give it a read if any of the following appeals to you: > 3000-5000 words per chapter, chapters released at least once per week, usually several times. Expect good grammar. > Story focus on illusions, secrets, and traps (along with the usual combat and character stuff). > Progression fantasy, but one where progress is meant to feel earned, moderately paced, and reasonable. Some advantages, but not big, unfair ones. > If a random reader can work out that putting a big rock in a bag of holding, lifting it, and then dropping the rock is free energy, then so could an adventurer who's owned a bag of holding for twenty years. Side characters have brains too. > Blue boxes! Levels! [Classes]! [Skills]! Loot! > No uncomfortable sexist undertones. Ambivalent about including relationships. Definitely no harems. There are a number of arcs planned and this will be ongoing for some time. I am very appreciative of the kind reviews and comments left so far.
