The Copy Mage Chapter 70

"ARGH" screamed Milo who was suddenly overwhelmed by pain all around his body.
Milo felt immense pain all around his body as he felt every single cell and aspect of his body change, causing him excruciating pain.
Damian instantly had a worried and scared expression and didn't know what to do and what happened.
[Utsusu, Utsusu what happened] asked Damian frantically within his mind.
Milo had collapsed to the ground and began writhing in pain, as the pain was too much for his mind and body to handle.
{Calm down kid, allow your friend to awaken and his constitution is changing to match his ability} reassured Utsusu.
Damian couldn't relax while watching his friend experience gut-wrenching pain, that he was the cause of.
There was nothing Damian could do but sit beside Milo until his awakening had completed and the pain subsided.
From what Utsusu had explained and informed him, and from what he had gathered, Damian had noticed the similarities and difference between his and Milo's unique Soul Spirits.
Milo's ability was different to Damian's simply because Milo's ability didn't change the element and attribute of his energy like Damian's, but would change the composition of his body to suit that of the beast bloodline that he was using.
Milo's energy resonated with Damian because it could change and was attributeless, just like Damian's, but Milo's energy was nothing special when compared to Damian's changeable energy.
What was special was his body and his ability to transform his body to match that of a beast bloodline that he copied
The screeching and pain lasted for a long and painful half an hour, where Milo was writhing in pain throughout, as his body was completely reformed to match that of his newly awakened Soul Spirit.
The majestic white wings that Milo were able to sprout seemed to be the base of his Soul Spirit, similar to how the Copy Book was the base of Damian's ability, but Milo's Soul Spirit lay dormant for such a long time and the sudden awakening had caused him excruciating pain.

As the screams suddenly stopped, Damian calmed down and let out a sigh of relief as the pain, seemed to have subsided, but just as he was about to relax, Milo's body suddenly sprouted his wings and rose up into the air.
Milo seemed to be unconscious as his body floated above Damian and began to hungrily absorb energy, in a similar way to when Damian had just awakened his Soul Spirit and withdrew the Copy Book for the first time.
Damian observing Milo could see a dark red energy around his body that was similar, yet different to that of a berserk beast, and it seemed to be the energy that he used to acquire beast bloodlines.
But around his wings was a faint golden energy that completely opposed the aura and energy around his body as his body continuously began to absorb energy around him.
[His energy is completely different to mine and just as I thought, it isn't changeable energy] observed both Damian and Utsusu.
Damian was unsure of what exactly his friend had awakened and was unsure whether his Soul Spirit had gained intellect, but Damian could feel the power emanating from Milo and he was unsure of whether he could still defeat Milo.
Milo suddenly collapsed and fell back down to the ground as his wings were retracted back into his body and the energy in the area was no longer being absorbed by him.
Damian was too deep in thought to be able to catch Milo, who crashed into the ground from a few metres in the air.
As Damian rushed towards Milo to check on his body, Milo suddenly stood up as if nothing had happened and seemed fine.
"Damian I can cultivate" screamed Milo joyously, forgetting about all the pain he experienced, as he hugged his comparingly smaller friend gratefully.

Damian also had a wide smile seeing his friend's joy and felt happy that he was able to help somebody for once and not be seen as a burden.
Both of them had the black and stinky impurities around their bodies, after breaking through, but neither of them were bothered by it and were more focused on Milo's awakened Soul Spirit.
"Try out your ability, I'm curious to see how it works and what it is" urged Damian.
"Oh yeah, when I awakened my Soul Spirit, I weirdly found some information in my mind that explains to me what it is and how it works" stated Milo.
It was similar to what Utsusu had within his spirit, but Milo was different to Damian and didn't have an awakened spirit and had a manual within his mind that explained his ability.
"And what did it say" asked Damian curiously.
Milo was spontaneous, lazy and irresponsible, but he wasn't stupid and knew what to tell people and what to keep to himself.
"If you don't want to tell me it's fine" stated Damian, seeing Milo hesitant to answer.
There were many things that he didn't reveal to his friend and he didn't want to make Milo feel uncomfortable.
But as Damian was the one that showed Milo how to awaken his Soul Spirit and the only one that he currently trusted, despite the unknowns about his identity, past and his knowledge, Milo decided that he could trust Damian with the information.
"No, I want to tell you. In summary, my ability is that I can devour bloodlines of beasts and after I have digested and understood the composition of the bloodline of the beast, I can change my body's constitution to match that of the beast and replicate similar characteristics to the beast" explained Milo.
"But not only that, I can fuse bloodlines that are of the same kind or race to form a stronger bloodline and to increase my strength I need to absorb and understand a wider range of bloodlines from different beasts of various strengths" added Milo.
His ability was incredible and had limitless growth, and from how it was described it may even be stronger than Damian's ability.
But Damian didn't feel any envy or jealousy in the slightest, and was more curious as to why Milo didn't call it his Soul Spirit and whether it was possible that his ability wasn't from a Soul Spirit.
"Your growth is limitless as there are always stronger beasts out there, but what cultivation level have you reached now," asked Damian, wanting to gauge the current strength of his friend.
"Oh I think I have reached rank..." answered Milo before being interrupted by a loud beast shriek.

This soul would eventually develop into a human with immeasurable power...but this story isn't about him its about a young boy who was thrust into this whole mess before anyone, and has to figure out how to be strong enough not to repeat the future. ----- The paper read Humanity's last stronghold has been breached under the text a picture of what he recognized as New York, and above it an odd date. “December 8th 2028” Tomb mumbled to himself in shock, “what am i doing 6 years from the present” As if the man had supernatural powers, he heard Tom “Going insane from mana, you crazy mage did you just realise it only took us 3 years to pulverize you fools” the man maniacally laughed. Then turning towards the tall man, he got serious and said “Kanna, if you had just surrendered yourself at first we would have made this takeover much quicker, but you” the man seethed with anger “you fought back, nothing is worse than humans standing together.” The LIT RPG elements have been planned for the future and will not be the main focus but more will be written I assume around chapter 10

An old man's new world
An old man on his deathbed has many regrets, but the one thing he regrets the most is not fulfilling his sense of adventure. What would he do if given a new change? I always try to make the characters as realistic as possible by giving them lives of their own and motivations for doing different actions, but because I'm a new author, I might miss a few things, so please, feel free to tell me if something feels fake or unrealistic. I also write as a hobby, and my motivation tends to go up and down. If I'm not feeling motivated, I won't force myself to write. This means that the upload schedule might have abrupt gaps and sudden spurts.
