The Copy Mage Chapter 68

Damian who had jumped while using the Flame Burst Skill at the same time to grab onto a branch, that was 10 metres above him, suddenly lost his grip.
The 10-metre fall itself was unlikely to kill Damian directly, but it would massively injure him and make it so that it would be impossible for him to defend himself against the berserk boar beast.
Damian's life and regrets flashed before his eyes as he began to regret his courageous and heroic nature that had gotten him into an impossible situation.
But just as he had given in to his fate and believed his death was inevitable, there was a sudden burst of wind as a person with large white wings soared towards him.
Milo after getting all the villagers to evacuate to the other side of the village, couldn't help but head towards his friend to see if he could help.
He was unwilling to rely on his friend all the time and wanted to return the favour for once and he watched the battle from behind a tree a few metres away from where Damian was battling.
Seeing him holding onto the branch and suddenly losing grip, Milo acted without thought as he activated his Soul Spirit and blitzed towards Damian.
Everything happened so quickly and he had managed to swoop Damian into his arms just as he was about to fall on the tusks of the boar, that had stuck his tusks upwards in the air to pierce its prey.
As Damian felt the gust of wind and was suddenly caught by Milo, his ambitions and drive to succeed were suddenly reawoken.
He could have died and he had given up, and allowed all of that to occur without fighting for his aims.
"I will never give up" roared Damian as he jumped out of Milo's arms as they reached near to the ground.

"Milo you saved me and I appreciate it. Now rest and we will sort out your issue after I deal with this beast" thanked Damian gratefully.
He knew that without Milo his death was almost guaranteed and his friend had went out of his way and risked his own life to save his life.
That debt would be repaid by Damian who saw Milo as his best friend and a brother figure.
The mental shock and battle that needed Damian to push past his limits, had caused his body to be able to overcome the bottleneck that Damian had reached, and with the help of Utsusu, his body began to hungrily absorb energy.
It was similar to when he had first used the Copy Book and his body suddenly broke through to rank 2 after surpassing his mental shackles.
Damian felt a large amount of energy stream into his body and rapidly circulate throughout his body as his Internal Energy was not only completely restored, but also strengthened to rank 2.
This experience had made Damian realise just how easy it was for him to die, while out in the real world, and if it wasn't for Milo, his journey in his second life and his ambitions would have all been cut short.
The enraged and berserk boar beast didn't wait for Damian to attack and stormed towards Damian with great speed.
There was now a faint red aura around the boar beast's body, that was the same as what was described in the beast manuals about the berserker state, as Damian could see that every aspect about the beast was strengthened.
Milo was on the ground behind Damian and barely managing to stay conscious, after pushing his body too much by using his Soul Spirit, that was too powerful for his uncultivated body, so Damian didn't have much space to move as he had to protect him.

So he had to battle the beast without getting hit while also protecting his friend, for a few minutes until the beast's body collapsed from the backlash of the berserker state.
Damian had the Flame Reinforcement Skill still activated and knew that he had to rely on the Fire Burst Skill to have a chance at avoiding the beasts rapid attacks.
However, Damian was yet to test out his strength now that he had broken through to rank 2.
From what Damian had learnt, External Cultivators would increase their body's original strength by 10% after each LVL and at rank 1, which is also known as the 10th LVL, they would have double the strength they had originally.
While also after every breakthrough there is a small increase in strength that could be equivalent to 10 to 20% of the cultivator's original strength.
While Internal Cultivators would also experience the same increases in strength, but instead of their External Body and their External Energy being strengthened, it would be the cultivators Internal Body and Internal Energy.
Damian now as a rank 2 cultivator had more than 3 times his body's original power and with his dense and pure changeable energy, he had an advantage over others at the same cultivation level as him.
Internal Cultivator's strength was harder to measure than External Cultivators as although it was similar to External Cultivators, there weren't many ways to test their strength and because of that, many Internal Cultivators, who would usually fight as Mages, were underestimated and seen as weak.
Although Internal Cultivators could reinforce their bodies with energy to a level similar to that of an External Cultivator of the same rank, their Internal Energy would be used much faster than the External Energy of the External Cultivator and would most of the time be subpar to them in terms physical strength.
But Internal Cultivators were not limited to physical skills like External Cultivators and had a wider range of skills and abilities that they could use.
Overall Internal Cultivators and External Cultivators both had their advantages and disadvantages, but it all varied from cultivator to cultivator and the comparison didn't include Soul Spirits or the use of elements, so is therefore inaccurate.
The knowledgable Damian knew that his progress and strength were exceptional for his cultivation level and age and he was both a Pyro Fighter and Pyro Mage, which gave him the confidence to face the beast despite it being in a berserk state.
However, he was yet to truly us his Pyrokenisis that would be used by a Pyro Mage as his energy was still too little to use it for long periods of time.
Damian streamed more energy into his Flame Reinforcement as he reinforced his body to have strength equivalent to a rank 2 External Cultivator, then rushed towards the beast that was charging towards him.
