The Copy Mage Chapter 30

Matilda and Trevor walked onto the stage as Trevor gave her an evil smile.
Matilda's expression was calm yet her eyes were burning with hate, determination and drive that shocked Ivan to see the young girl, that he overlooked as a mere energetic girl with a unique Soul Spirit, had such drive.
"If she showed this much willpower she would have easily won the Will Test" mumbled Ivan to himself as he looked over to Julia who had a similar expression.
'Just who the hell are these girls' he thought to himself curious about their origin and their past as he saw not only pain in their eyes but also ambition, determination and potential.
"You may begin" announced Ivan who was curious to watch the battle and couldn't deduce the outcome.
As soon as they were allowed to begin, Trevor dashed towards her, but unlike when battling Milo, he was taking the battle much more seriously.
"That is the F:5 Rank Movement Skill, the Ferret Steps" observed Ivan.
Movement skills were much rarer than other skills, were much more valuable and more difficult to learn, and for Trevor to have learnt one already, it was an amazing achievement.
He really had shown his talent in his capability of learning skills and his talent in cultivation and was proving himself without having a rare Soul Spirit.
The different levels of mastery of skills are:
Beginner Level that equals to thirty percent of the maximum power of the skill.
Low Level that equals to fifty percent.
High Level that equals to seventy percent.
Peak Level that equals to ninety percent or higher.
Perfection Level that equals to ninety-nine percent and it could be said that it could not get any better.
Trevor currently only reached a mastery of Beginner Level for both the skills he had shown, but being at such a young age and only having a Body Augmentation Soul Spirit, it really was amazing to be able to accomplish so much.

The Ferret Steps was a movement skill that would allow him to have small bursts of rapid steps and would give him quick evasive speed and also cover short distances rapidly in short bursts.
The small bursts were in a zig-zag shape as he dashed from side to side, and approached her using the Ferret Steps.
He was very intelligent and matched with his ruthlessness and ambition; he was a force to be reckoned with.
As he got near her, hoping to finish the battle in a single strike, he activated the Tiger Fist that he launched at her face.
Tiger Fist
As the fist reached only a few centimetres from Matilda's face, she was still calm and so was Julia, while everybody else thought she would be defeated so easily.
Sonic Cry
Matilda activated her Soul Spirit that was very easy and quick to activate as she felt a surge of power and energy in her voice box.
"AAAHH" she screamed at the top of her lungs.
Initially, it was merely a scream, but after practising for while previously, Matilda figured out how to use her Soul Spirit, and what they thought was a mere scream became a sonic wave that was released all around her.
As the power of the scream picked up, the power of the Tiger Fist was beginning to dispel as the Sonic Cry that Matilda was able to produce, launched Trevor flying backwards.
Trevor who slid and reached a halt at the edge of the arena wasn't expecting the power of Matilda's scream to be so powerful as he attempted to stand up, but there was a constant painful ringing with his mind.
"ARGH" he roared in pain as he began to rage at the loss that he knew at the current state was inevitable.

His ears were leaking blood because of the impact of the Sonic Cry as he suddenly lost conscious because of his overwhelmed mind and senses.
The crowd was silent, then began to cheer wildly as they witnessed the underdog who was inferior in terms of skills and experience defeat her opponent.
"Round 4 Completed - Winner Matilda" announced Ivan who was also slightly shocked by the result and the power of the Sonic Cry that seemed to be fuelled by Matilda's emotion.
Matilda hearing the announcement had an accomplished expression, but as somebody who had never cultivated and has used such a powerful application of her Soul Spirt, she collapsed.
The fatigue and overuse of energy had overwhelmed her body and her Soul Spirit that she had yet to learn its complete uses and how to control it properly.
It seemed to be fuelled by her emotion and desperation in the same way that it had awakened and in such a desperate battle it unleashed amazing power.
Julia rushed onto the stage and followed after the busy nurses that now had two new patients and carried them to the infirmary connected to the arena.
Julia had a fulfilled smile as she saw, who she saw as her sister, prove herself and defeat somebody that everybody thought she had no chance against.
Matilda was placed onto a bed on the infirmary and as a valued student that had a Soul Spirit, she was given a pill that was full of energy and vitality that would speed up her recovery and as she wasn't injured but had merely overused her energy, she would be able to recover in a short while.
As Julia sat next to Matilda, Cole rushed in and notified her of the message that Ivan told him to pass onto her.
"Julia it is your turn to battle and you are up against Finn" informed Cole.
Julia stood up with the same plain and seemingly angry expression that she usually had, but deep down she was very excited for her battle and seeing how Matilda had proven herself without any experience, Julia was prepared to do the same thing.
They rushed back to the stage as Julia climbed onto the stage that Finn was already standing on.
There was no enmity between Julia and Finn and both were merely fighting for the competition, as they stood opposite each other, prepared to battle.
"Round 5 - Julia vs Finn" announced Ivan.
"You may begin"

Kind’s Kiss
MAGIC DOESN'T KILL, NOT BY ITSELF. IT NEEDS A LITTLE HELP. Jessica DeRidder is a substitute teacher and mage in hiding, her daughter Ellen a killer on the run. Their next job lands the mother-daughter team in Hellhole, a small town in the middle of nowhere. All they need to do is their job. For Mom to identify the problem, and for Ellen to... fix it. Easy. Simple. But not this time. The pair find themselves caught in the struggle between the Man-in-White and the Wicked Witch of the West. A mysterious image and the theft of a deadly flower lead the pair to a score of dead prisoners, magical drug dealers, and red-eyed assassins falling from the sky. And somehow it all seems to be related to Ellen's murky past. All Ellen wants to do is do her homework, eat ice cream, and protect her newfound friends (not necessarily in that order). She'll go all-in, guns blazing. But when the smoke clears there may be nothing left but a stranger's past and a lonely future. --- 'Kind's Kiss' is a light, modern-day fantasy, easy on the magic, heavy on the snark. Though complete it is still a work in progress. One reviewer described it as 'Buffy meets Sabrina, as done by Tarantino'. I'm still not sure if I should consider that a compliment or hire a hitman :-)

Or two halves of the same one? Urie Loeth was a boy living in the city of Daerin. Eager to learn magic in order to help his father, he participated in the city's annual Harvest Festival, a gathering conducted to awaken magic in children. His hopes were dashed however when he learnt that he couldn't awaken his magic. Meanwhile, Celeste Varethe was a girl living in the perpetually dark city of Daerin. Awaiting her father's presence on her birthday, she narrowly missed his brief appearance and ran after his silhouette, only to feel confused at being suddenly pushed away. Their unexpected meeting, brought about by fate, set off a series of events that would bring motion to the once stagnant Land of Erden. Note: Volume 01 Ebook (It has illustrations! Whoopie!) 8 154Spontaneously Cooking
In this literary saga of cooking, an impulsive narrative was conducted after a string of unfortunate encounters. A life was spirited away and in turn, paved the path of optimism with... Food? Often times the language of the stomach speaks for itself. Hunger begets anger (hangry?) and sustenance can be truely food for the soul. This story revolves around a decent 24 year old chef and her cat. Devour, quench and appease yourself in this whimsical dish of delight. Bon appetite.
