I Became A God Of A Microscopic World Chapter 23

Hearing Captain Qin's words, the surrounding team members looked confused.
"Spatial shock?"
"Captain, why would there be spatial shock here? Can it really cause such a disturbance?"
Before they awakened their superpowers, they were all ordinary people. Even though they had joined the Special Abilities Bureau, they were still under probation. A lot of information had yet to be released to them. Were they going to reveal them gradually to them now?
Everyone's eyes were filled with anticipation.
The world was becoming more and more strange and terrifying. If they knew more information, the information might come in handy and help them save themselves one day.
It was better for them to be prepared for anything.
Captain Qin nodded. "That's right. It's a spatial shock. When the passage between worlds connect, a spatial tunnel will appear. However, before they connect, there will be a spatial aftershock. According to the analysis of scientists, it is caused by the collision of the energies of the two worlds."
"And once the spatial aftershock appears, it will erupt with terrifying power. If the area is large enough, even a city could be razed to the ground. Right now, this 100-meter area is just caused by a small tremor."
Other than a spatial shock, he could not think of any other possible explanation.
Someone could not help but ask, "Captain, could there really be visitors from another world?"
This was the first time they had heard this. Although they felt that the world had become dangerous and strange, they had never associated it with another world.
Captain Qin had already said it out loud, so he did not mind revealing more. This was already part of the plan.
"Of course there are. In fact, they have been coming over since ten years ago. The world that we are in, now and then produces spatial aftershocks. There are void passageways that connect this world to other worlds. Occasionally, there will be creatures from other worlds running over here."

"However, most of the creatures from other worlds died when they came to our world. Only a few survived."
"The creatures from other worlds that survived had terrifying strength and defense. They might have even possessed extraordinary powers. Even guns and cannonballs could hardly harm them. They brought great harm to our world."
"However, many creatures from other worlds died when they came. In the past, they could still be controlled with the power of science and technology. We were able to prevent the exposure of the existence of these creatures from other worlds."
"But the situation is getting more and more serious recently. We have to be prepared."
Captain Qin didn't say anything about being prepared. His face was cold and solemn.
"This..."
Hearing this, the members of the team were all shocked. They had never thought that the seemingly peaceful world wasn't actually peaceful anymore. They had always felt safe, but now, they might not be anymore?
The creatures from other worlds could not be killed even by the weapons made by modern civilization. When more of them came, wouldn't it be more and more serious?
"Captain, is everything still in control now? They won't spread out to our cities right?"
A member of the team asked with an anxious mindset.
Captain Qin sighed softly, "We can still control it now, but the pressure is getting greater and greater. The number of spatial tunnels appearing is increasing. I'm telling you this now because soon, we will have to be on the front line. The army is not suited for small-scale encirclement and suppression. If the commotion is too big, it will easily cause panic."
"When the news is announced to the world, it will be the start of a war for the protection of humanity's homeland."
Everyone was so shocked that they did not know what to say. For a moment, the scene was a little cold.

The bald man took half a step back nervously and said, "Captain, you told us to monitor this place, Black Dragon Mountain, at all times. Could it be that this place might also have a spatial tunnel that connects to another world?"
"Will the otherworldly creatures that appear this time survive?"
The others shifted their gazes and looked at Captain Qin.
"You're right. In fact, before the spatial tunnel appeared, there were signs, and that was the spatial aftershock."
A cold glint flashed in Captain Qin's eyes. "Following the location of the spatial aftershock, we can roughly guess the location where the spatial tunnel appeared. That way, we can completely surround the spatial tunnel and wait for the otherworldly creatures to come over."
"If there are living otherworld creatures, kill them all. We can't let them harm our world."
"Every time a otherworldly creature appears, a portion of it will survive."
"According to scientific research, fighting against otherworldly creatures can also promote the growth of our special abilities. Staying in a city forever will not allow us to grow. Since we've awakened our special abilities, we should step out and do something. Of course, fighting against otherworldly creatures is life-threatening. The death rate is around 50%."
"If any of you are afraid, you can quit now. You can continue your work in the Special Abilities Bureau, but you will be confined to the city."
"Start making your decisions."
After saying that, Captain Qin turned to look at Black Dragon Mountain and waited silently.
Behind him, the newly awakened ones who had been brought out from the Special Abilities Bureau looked at each other. None of them had good looks on their faces.
They looked at each other, then lowered their heads, thinking about something.
No one said anything, and Captain Qin didn't urge them.
After all, if they agreed to it, they would be risking their lives against creatures from other worlds. Plus, they had a 50% chance of dying. No one was sure how long they could live after agreeing to it. Perhaps, they would die on Black Dragon Mountain.
By taking a step back and returning to the city, they could live comfortably with their current special abilities.
They could still bear the price of not being able to strengthen their special abilities if they didn't need to risk their lives.
Right at this moment, a young man dressed in white stepped forward and asked, "Captain, if I die in battle, will there be any compensation for my family?"
Captain Qin turned around and said in a deep voice, "Yes."
"If you die as a soldier of the Special Abilities Bureau, your family will be compensated 10 million a year for 20 years. During this period, you will enjoy high-quality medical and educational resources. You will receive the highest level of protection. Even if the city cannot be defended in the future, your family will be the last one to die in the city."
"I will guarantee it with my life."
The man's expression didn't change. He only nodded. "Alright, then I'll join."
"Blindly relying on others to protect you while you live is the act of a coward. If you don't join in ahead of time, disaster will befall you. You won't even have the ability to resist. The right way is to increase your superpower."
These words weren't just for himself, but also for others to hear.
After the white-robed man finished speaking, he walked behind Captain Qin and looked at the people who had yet to make a choice.

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!
