"I see. So you want to overthrow him and gain power?"
Lawrend asked Kenova in thought.
"Correct."
Kenova nodded his head.
"First of all, why are you asking me? Besides, weren't you doing what Vernon wants like a dog?"
Lawrend asked him skeptically.
"That's because I thought I have no hopes, but after recognizing your talents. I realized that there was a chance."
Kenova said to Lawrend.
"Really? Why do you even think so highly of me? I just managed to luckily find the solution."
Lawrend replied to Kenova full of doubt.
"Luckily? That's not true! You thought of something that even the Purple Thunder Grand Mage couldn't think of! What kind of intelligence would it take to figure that out? It's out of this world!"
Kenova shook his head at Lawrend's words. In his opinion, Lawrend is god-like.
"I'm sorry, but I'm not the person for that."
Lawrend straightened his body and shook his head.
"... Fine."
Kenova shook his head drearily.
"But still, keep this. It'll be my token of gratitude for you sparing your time to have a study session with me."
Kenova passed the Thunderbolt Disk back to Lawrend's hand.
"Alright."
Lawrend nodded his head in satisfaction. This was much better. At least, he does not have to get embroiled in a clan coup d'etat.
"We're here."
The coachman's voice sounded from the front.
"Let's go."
Lawrend urged them before he left the carriage first.
Humility turned her head to Kenova and passed to him a small piece of paper. Kenova took it, and he was in disbelief when he read its contents.
…
Lawrend sat on the floor at Humility's living room. They sat at a small table for the three of them. There were notes and scattered paper on the table with scribbles on them.

This was from their study session yesterday. He brought it out to continue what they were discussing.
"Alright, let's start."
Lawrend said to the two of them.
Thus, Lawrend gave them another study session. What Lawrend noticed was that Kenova seems to be distant. He wasn't as energetic and amiable as yesterday.
"Lawrend, what's this again? Can you explain it from the top?"
Humility asked Lawrend as she moved closer to him. She placed her hand on top of his thigh.
"Ah, this is the formula for the…"
Lawrend explained to her.
"I-I understand it very clearly!"
Humility exclaimed to Lawrend happily. She looked genuinely happy that she was able to understand it.
After a few hours, their study session has come to an end.
"Thank you, Lawrend. Thank you, Miss Humility. I'll take my leave."
Kenova bid his farewell to the two of them.
"Mm."
Lawrend nodded his head.
"See you!"
Humility waved her hand at him with a smile on her face. Kenova opened the door and left.
Thus, it was the two of them left sitting on the floor around the table.
"Lawrend, thank you for the help as always!"
Humility said to Lawrend before she suddenly crawled to him and kissed his cheeks.
Her kiss was soft and moist. Lawrend turned his head to her in shock and disbelief.
"W-What are you doing, Humility?"
Lawrend asked her as he stood up. He didn't expect her to suddenly kiss him on the cheeks.
"I'm thanking you for helping me. After all, you're my only friend."
Humility said to Lawrend with a smile.
"O-Only friend? What about Kenova?"
Lawrend asked her in confusion.
"Him? We don't really talk without you, so I don't consider us as friends."
Humility replied to Lawrend honestly.

"H-Huh? Friends don't kiss each other, though."
Lawrend said to her with puzzlement on his face.
"What does it take for me to be able to kiss you freely?"
Humility asked Lawrend with a confused face.
"Only couples do that. Or siblings if they are really close."
Lawrend replied to her.
"Tch. Couples again?"
Humility clicked her tongue in annoyance hearing Lawrend say that they have to be a couple again.
"Anyways, I'm going, Humility. I'll see you tomorrow."
Lawrend bid his farewell to her. He felt creeped out by her.
"Goodbye, Lawrend. I'll have your gift ready tomorrow."
Humility stood up and waved her hand in farewell.
Lawrend opened the door and left. He couldn't fathom what was going through Humility's head sometimes. Doesn't she know basic propriety? That a man and a woman must not be that intimate if nothing is going on between them.
"That was so tiring. I'll need to 'exercise' again."
Lawrend shook his head and walked towards Aleshia's room.
After walking for a while, Lawrend reached the room and opened the door.
"Oh, Master! Welcome home! Fufufu."
Aezel greeted Lawrend with a smile on her face.
"Hm? Where are Aleshia and the others?"
Lawrend asked her as he looked around the room in confusion.
"They are at Nimela's room."
Aezel answered Lawrend.
"Huh? What are they doing there?"
Lawrend asked her in confusion.
"Forget that. More importantly, there's a gift waiting for you inside, Master."
Aezel gently pushed Lawrend towards the bathroom.
"Alright, Alright. Stop pushing me."
Lawrend said to her, and she stopped.
"Master, let me cover your eyes so it will be more dramatic."
Aezel to Lawrend. She then covered his eyes with her hands.
"What kind of a gift would this be?"
Lawrend asked her with a wry smile.
"Stop asking, Master. I'm sure you'll like it."
Aezel said to him with an excited look on her face.
"Fine."
Lawrend gave up and closed his eyes. Aezel used her hands and covered his eyes.
"Now, walk forward carefully, Master."
Aezel guided Lawrend as he entered the bathroom.
"There!"
Aezel said in excitement. She then removed her hands from Lawrend's eyes.
Lawrend opened his eyes slowly. He focused it on what was in front of him.
"E-Elena!?"
Lawrend exclaimed in shock.
"Master, I'm gifting you my body. Do whatever you want."
Elena said to Lawrend seductively. She was bundled with a red ribbon. Her thighs were tied together, and she raised her legs, allowing Lawrend to see her slit.

The Mortal Acts
The Mortal Acts is an epic progression fantasy with a lower focus on training aspects and a great focus on discovering new ways of using powers intelligently. I've always been drawn to stories where characters use their powers creatively to overcome opponents and obstacles, and I think all the possibilities can provide a great playground for twists and turns. It's inspired by a variety of media, including Will Wight's Cradle, Hunter x Hunter, and Bioshock, so if you like the creative power use elements from those, come check it out. This is my first serial, and please feel free to leave comments and feedback. For backstory, behind-the-scenes, and other fun stuff, come chat on my discord! Become a patron to read up to 20 chapters ahead here! Blurb: Riven Morell cuts short his regular life at school and home when his mother falls terminally ill. Desperate to find a cure, he travels to Severance Frontier, a desolate land haunted by hordes of ghosts, witches, and demons collectively called the Deathless. But a miraculous cure doesn’t magically fall into his hands. Things are worse in Severance Frontier than Riven had assumed. Ghosts are banding together into armies, demons are kidnapping anyone who strays out of settlements, and witches are enslaving everyone left and right. Riven, of course, gets embroiled in the mess. Missions to curb the Deathless activity are one thing, but when it starts to look like this is just the beginning of a war that extends beyond the mortal realm, Riven has a hard time focusing on why he came to Severance Frontier in the first place. His mother is inching towards death with every passing day, but if he doesn’t face down the Deathless, what little civilization the Frontier holds will be overrun and destroyed. Thankfully, it looked like the Deathless might just hold the secret of the elusive cure.

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
