Kiss Me Not Chapter 192

Kimmy was surprised to see how annoyed Cain looked at that moment.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about last night. I puked on you, right?" Kimmy naively stated. She was still contemplating whether to admit to Cain that she remembered the kiss they shared.
"That's not what I want to know," Cain replied with a straight face. He wanted to mention the kiss but he did not know what was holding him back to directly ask that question to Kimmy. Maybe because he was scared? And why would he be afraid? He was anxious that Kimmy would deny it and in the end, he would be rejected the second time around.
Kimmy raised a brow as she questioned, "what else do you want to know, doc? I remember you seeing me almost naked in the bathroom? Is that what you're referring to?"
She was waiting for Cain to mention the kiss but her hunch was telling her that Cain would not dare mention it first. She could sense that Cain was still wondering if she remembered about the kiss or not. Sorry for him because she decided that she would not admit it! If she did, he would definitely bully her about it. No way!
The waiter finally arrived with their sandwiches and coffees. The two were both quiet as they ate breakfast. Both had the same topic running inside their head but none dared to voice it out.
Kimmy was done eating when her mobile phone suddenly rang. She creased her forehead seeing it was her mother. She answered it.
"Are you with Cain right now?"
"Huh?" Kimmy gasped, she subconsciously looked at Cain.
"Sean said you arrived with Cain. What's going on? Are you two going out?!"
"No!" Kimmy quickly answered.
"Stop thinking too much mom. We just arrived at the same time since we coincidentally met in a cafe for breakfast. I was with him when Will called him about uncle. But seriously mom… You called me just because of that?! How about uncle? Are you at the palace now? How is uncle?"

Leila sighed and said, "well that's what is confusing Kimmy! Why did you leave so fast and did not stay here with your uncle? Someone said they saw you driving Cain's car and you picked him up!"
Kimmy silently cursed those eyes in the Palace and the people who could not keep their mouths shut! Now she would be in big trouble knowing how her mother's mind works!
Cain could already tell what was happening just by hearing Kimmy's conversation with her mother in front of him.
"Oh yeah, we left together because I will go with him to the hospital to have a check-up. I'm with him right now. Mom, the signal here is not good. I will call you back," Kimmy said before quickly ending the call.
She looked at Cain and grunted, "I will be in big trouble."
Cain had a blank expression when he replied, "just tell her that you're working with me. That way she won't worry or ask more. Don't worry I will talk to her."
"And what will you say to her?" Kimmy asked, curious about what Cain would tell her mother.
"I will tell her that I offered you work. That way she won't ask you too many questions…"
"Yeah she won't ask but she will definitely assume that you are taking an interest in me," Kimmy murmured with a pout.
"So? Don't you think that's better than having her think that you have interest in me instead? What do you think? Do you prefer that?"
Kimmy's shoulders dropped as she replied, "It doesn't make any difference. I will just prepare myself. Knowing how my mother is… She will definitely start pestering me. I just hope she won't do something extreme again to make me run away…"

"I think you and your mother need a heart-to-heart talk. A one-on-one talk. Have you visited her at home? Or spend at least a day with her?" Cain asked.
Kimmy sighed loudly before she shook her head. She just realized how she was shutting her mother too much in her life. Then she recalled her mother's conversation with uncle Daniel last time her mother visited Cain's father.
She eavesdropped and heard how her mother was so worried about her. She chose Cain for her knowing Cain was a responsible man, unlike her father.
"Auntie Leila is a good mother. You know mother always knows best and I strongly believed that it's true. She's just worried about you, Kimberly. How about you talk to her? You can visit and go out with her any day."
"Not all are lucky like you whose mother is still there for you. Set aside your worries about her bugging you with me because I reassure you that I will no longer agree to something where the other party involved is unwilling… I already learned my lesson."
Kimmy bit her inner cheek because she felt the disappointment in Cain's voice. She should be feeling good with what Cain said, right? It only meant that he would not agree to another arranged marriage in case her mother tried something like that again.
However, she was feeling down, hearing his words. She did not like his words since it was as if he would no longer agree to marry her.
'He said 'unwilling' Kimmy so don't think badly about it that he doesn't want to marry someone like you anymore. He just wanted someone who is willing… unlike you who ran away!'
"I guess you are right. I'm probably just overreacting and assuming so much. Maybe mom has already changed. How about tomorrow? I will spend my day tomorrow with my mom. Is that okay?" Kimmy asked.
"Yeah, anytime Kimmy," Cain said with a wide smile. He was feeling elated that Kimmy was listening to him and took his advice.
"Good girl," he added with a wink toward Kimmy who ended up gulping. It was the first time Cain winked at her and she felt her heart suddenly stop beating because of how adorable he looked at that moment.
'Damn! I'm in trouble!' Kimmy helplessly mused.

The Woman In The Palace
Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to."With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of.The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more.He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself."Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it.I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him."I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness.""My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.
