Dungeon Reset Chapter 14

Translator: WH
“Hey, you’re here?”
As Jung Da-woon slowly turned around, the first thing that could be seen was a wolf skull helmet covering his face.
And on both shoulders were the cranial cuffs of the one-horned boar, and the horns that were on the two shoulders, which had been deliberately left, were flashing sharply.
The large and small bones were woven together to protect the whole body, and the seams and joints were easy to move about even after adding the thick and tough leather of the one-horned boar.
[Bone Armor? Don’t tell me you made this yourself?]
“Yeah. Isn’t it pretty good considering I made it in one day?”
[One day? One day you said?]
The rabbit was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say.
It was only out for a day yesterday to host the dungeon game, but the error seed did something needless again.
And he had the idea of making armor out of the bones of a monster!
It wasn’t even feasible.
That man has displayed his talent needlessly again.
[Huh?]
Suddenly the rabbit’s gaze stopped at the helmet made of wolf bones.
The Rabbit knew what probably happened yesterday.
[You…… In the end, you found the way that connected to the ground above, didn’t you?]
“That’s right. It’s time to leave this place.”
[How about you stop trying to leave and just stay here and play forever?]
“Don’t be ridiculous.”
Jung Da-woon shook his head firmly.
“You want me to die here as an old man living alone for the rest of my life? Of course I can’t do that.”
[What’s wrong with an old man living alone? You’d be living here leisurely, isn’t that just great. And it looks like you’ve got a pet, you won’t be lonely and it’ll be fun!]
“Pokyuu.”
Crunch crunch.
Pokyuu didn’t care whether they were talking about itself or not, it sat on the table and focused only on the fragments of bones.
Jung Da-woon turned around, listening to the Rabbit’s words with one ear.
“Don’t worry, I think I’ll have to use this place as my home base for the time being.”
[For the time being? What else are you going to do again..….]
The Rabbit shuddered at his somehow ominous words.
* * *
Jung Da-woon carefully redesigned his escape plan.
At first, he ran out without thinking, distracted because he was finding for the way, but now there was no need to rush.
“No matter what, safety’s the best. This time, let’s properly get ready step by step before going out.”
To do so, the first thing he had to do was to get used to fighting rather than just going out recklessly.
“Skill Check.”
Vigor of the One-Horned Boar (Level 2)
– Your whole body will be surged with the strength of the one-horned boar.
– Temporarily amplifies your physical stats by 2.2x.
– Duration: 20 seconds, Cooldown: 90 seconds
Jung Da-woon, who confirmed his skill, smiled with satisfaction.
“The strength amplification increased. Its duration has also increased by 10 seconds, and its cooldown time has also been reduced by that much. I guess this was a skill that lasts longer as it levels up.”
Skills with these specific numbers were convenient because they could predict the future direction of growth.
Jung Da-woon has set his goal in the direction of increasing this duration.
Based on the last battle, 20 seconds or so will be enough to hunt a wolf.
“Honestly, I was lucky this time.”
The real scary thing about the monster wolves was that they lived as a pack.
If they found themselves in a disadvantageous situation, they called for their fellow kind by howling immediately, so they rarely face others one-on-one like this time.
‘Even if I tried to take them out one by one, I should be able to deal with at least two of them alone.’
The difference between one monster and two is huge.
Against monsters running back and forth, 20 seconds was too difficult of a duration to survive their attacks.
‘No matter how I think about it, I need to raise the skill level a little bit more.’
Fortunately, the skill amplification has also increased slightly along with the level-up.
It’s only an extra 0.2 times now, but the amplification would be enormous as the level went up.
But it was too dangerous to go hunting alone just to level up.
It was inconvenient to have no companions during times like these.
“Hunting is not necessarily the only answer.”
Jung Da-woon came up with another way.
He picked up heavy earth bricks one by one in both hands.
“Vigor of the One-Horned Boar!”
He activated his skill and lifted the earth brick alternately like dumbbells, and began to do muscle training.
“One, two! One, two……!”
Weight training was the best way to increase his strength.
If he used his skills repeatedly, even if it’s not as much as hunting, he thought it would work.
He worked out for 20 seconds, and rested for 90 seconds, then another 20 seconds, and then another 90 seconds off consistently, to match his skill and cooldown duration.
Having enough rest and nutrition was also important aside from exercising.
But, he had plenty of time and food.
When he was having a hard time, he thoroughly rested and ate, and slowly gained experience for his skill.
After a few days,
[Skill has advanced to Level 3.]
– Temporarily amplifies your physical stats by 2.4x.
– Duration: 30 seconds, Cooldown: 80 seconds
“All right!”
At this rate, he would have no problem with two wolves.
Now it was time for the real fight to begin.
* * *
“Krrrrrrrnggg!”
The ground above was still bloody and warlike.
As soon as he came out, two wolves immediately bared their teeth and attacked Jung Da-woon.
This time, however, he was fully prepared, so he was not as flustered or afraid as before.
A soft sigh came from the mouth of the Rabbit, who was watching the scene from behind.
[Whew, how would those shitty puppies be able to drill into the one-horned boar’s bones with those teeths?]
It was like what it said.
One-horned boars stood at the top of the Stage-1 monsters.
It was no easy task to break through that solid defence with the wolf’s attack.
“Vigor of the One-Horned Boar!”
The 30 second countdown started!
Kagagaaaak!
Jung Da-woon confidently swung his arms that was wrapped with bone armor to block the wolf’s teeth.
Huoongg! the iron spikes were strongly thrown forward, a piercing sound burst out.
“Crrrrrreukkkk!”
The wolf twisted itself in the air to escape the attack.
And after spinning and landing on the floor, it bounced back like a bullet.
“Kyaaoooo!”
It was aiming for his neck that was in between the armor!
[That’s right! Bite it! Bite him and kill him!]
Behind him, the Rabbit waved both its hands to cheer for the wolf.
However, seeing Jung Da-woon swing the iron spikes like a club to block it, it immediately became sullen.

“Crrrrrrrrrr!”
As the wolf bit the iron spikes, at that same moment the other wolf rushed for Da-woon’s rear.
[Great! Bite off his leg!]
But contrary to it, Jung Da-woon turned around and kicked the wolf.
Bammm!
“Kreeuuuggggghhhh!”
The wolf bounced backwards with a moaning sound.
The Rabbit was sad again.
“All right!”
Jung Da-woon did not miss the gap and immediately took out an iron spike from his inventory.
And he threw it like a javelin.
Shluckkk!
The ends of the iron spike cut through the air and stabbed into the wolf’s chest.
“Kreeughhhh!”
It worked perfectly!
The wolf was struggling with pain and it was rolling on the floor.
“What about the other wolf?”
When Jung Da-woon looked for the other wolf and turned his head back,
“Awooooooo!”
“Wow, would you look at this?”
[Great! They still have a chance!]
The other wolf sordidly jumped backwards and called for its fellow kind!
Jung Da-woon dashed to it and stopped its mouth.
He then summoned a mud brick!
“Kyaaaaoow!”
It was hard the first time he did it, but the second time was easy.
He pushed the wolf’s body, which was throwing up in a panic, and stabbed the wolf in the side with an iron spike.
“Ackkk!”
Shluckkk! Stab! Stab!
With no choice but to keep drawing out weapons from his inventory, iron spikes continued to emerge from Jung Da-woon’s hand.
“Kyaareuuukk!”
In the end, the wolf vomitted blood and fell to the ground.
But in that meantime, the cries of countless wolves were already coming closer to him.
Krrrrrr! Krrrrnggg! Kyaoooo!
The hideous cries of the monsters that seemed to pierce his skin gave Jung Da-woon goose bumps.
“I’ll be dead meat if I’m caught by them!”
No matter how strong the defensive capabilities of the armor is, if that many monsters bite and tear it apart, it is capable of destroying anything.
Jung Da-woon ran away without hesitation.
He ran into the tunnel.
“Well then, see you again!”
“Kreeeuuugggg! Krughhhh!”
The wolves ran after him, but the entrance to the tunnel had already been blocked with dirt.
The wolves scratched the ground with their front paws, but as long as it wasn’t a ground squirrel, there was a limit to how much it could dig.
[ Ughhhhh! What a coward! What are you doing running away? Just fight it out till the very end and die!]
“Shut up! What’s wrong with running away? This is all part of the strategy!”
“I see you like strategizing huh!”
Jung Da-woon cheer joyfully underground where it was safe.
He began to move quickly somewhere along the tunnel, whilst listening to the Rabbit’s violent criticism.
[Where are you going!]
“To the next stop!”
He wasn’t only focusing on working out all these while.
Among his skills, “Dirt Lump” was the one with the highest level.
In other words, he was extremely proficient when digging a tunnel.
Jung Da-woon ran toward Exit 2 which he dug previously, and it was about 100 meters away from where he was.
As most of the wolves were now snorting and sniffing at Exit 1 where he disappeared into, the other side would be relatively quiet.
“Pokyuu, move out!”
“Pokyuuut!”
First, he sent Pokyuu up to spy on the situation on the ground above.
If he accidentally jumped into the middle of a pack of wolves, it would be a disaster.
“Nod your head if it’s one wolf, and shake your head if it’s two wolves. Is there more than three?”
“Pokyuu pokyuu.”
“Two?”
“Pokyuu pokyuu.”
“One?”
“Pokyuut!”
“All right! It’s just one wolf! Dirt Lump! Dirt Lump!”
Criekk!
A square hole was drilled in the flat surface where there was nothing, and Jung Da-woon ran out.
And just in time, and his eyes met with a wolf who was still there eating a lamb.
“Kyaaaoo?”
“Vigor of the One-Horned Boar!”
“Krrreeeuukkkk!”
Jung Da-woon striked at it with an iron spike.
The wolf jumped up in surprise and avoided the attack, but at that moment its eyes widened on the heavy impact.
Bammm!
“Kruuughhh!”
He rolled about unsightly.
“Oh?”
Jung Da-woon was interested at the sight that unfolded before him.
He took out a brick of dirt to check it out, and it stumbled with one smack by the brick.
It was a better effect than he thought.
[Is this what they call a shot put…….]
The Rabbit sighed dejectedly.
Soil is actually heavier than he thought.
In the beginning, the biggest mud brick he could shape at Level 8 was too heavy to lift.
The lump of dirt that he just threw was actually intended to be used as an weight equipment, but it weighed as much as 20 kilos.
“All right!”
Jung Da-woon was excited and took out more mud bricks and began to throw it towards the wolf.
Kaboom! Kabaam!
[Heh! Your movement is so big that you would suffer instead, stupid!]
The Rabbit laughed.
A weakness was quickly revealed.
It was so heavy that it was hard to throw it far away, and it was easy to avoid it by dodging sideways.
But if you get hit by it just one time,
Boooom!
“Kruuughhh!”
There will definitely be a dent!
“Huckkkk!”
Jung Da-woon’s sharp iron spike dug into the wolf’s heart.
“Crrrrrrukkk!”
“Oh yeahhhh! I caught you again!”
Jung Da-woon was greatly pleased.
Although it looked a bit strange, he used two of his own skills at the same time to successfully hunt the wolf.
“What do you think? I kind of look like a Fighter class now, dont I?”
[ Fighter class my ass! You look like a pervert, you shitty human!]
The rabbit would never have accepted what he said obediently.
Krrunggg! Kyaooo!
Awooooooooo!
“Ugh, what a tough guy.”
He really didn’t have time to rest.
A group of wolves who belatedly found Jung Da-woon were rushing towards him.
“Pokyuu, let’s run!”
“Pokyuut!”
Jung Da-woon immediately jumped under Exit 2 and blocked the entrance.
Krrrrunggg! Kruuuuugh!
Thump thump! Thump thump!
The angry wolves dug the ground ruefully, but Jung Da-woon was already running along the tunnel to another section.
“This time, let’s go to Exit 3!”
[Pokyuu pokyuu!]
[There’s another one!?]
“Hahaha. This is the Hong Gil-dong tactic!” (T/N: Hong Gil-dong was a popular Korean outlaw)
[You really do like using tactics huh!]
He made a total of 3 exits.
Just like that, Jung Da-woon appeared in the east, then out from the west, and ambushed the wolves that had fallen out of the pack.
And he does it every time without mistake.
Even when it was eating, or when it was sleeping.
The wolves were helplessly beaten by his various ambushes, which suddenly popped out of the ground day and night.
Then, when the wolves remembered the location of the exit and waited in advance, he increased the number of exits to six different locations.
No matter how much the wolves waited for him with their eyes on the exit, as long as his little friend Pokyuu scouted in advance, a dangerous moment would never befall him.
And sometimes when it was really dangerous, he lifted some dumbbells while eating leisurely below ground.
“One two, one two.”
He used his skills constantly even when he was resting.
And as a result,
[ Skill has advanced to level 4.]
– Temporarily amplifies your physical stats by 2.6x.
– Duration: 40 seconds, Cooldown: 70 seconds
“Oh?”
[Just stop it already!]
The rabbit stomped his foot in disgust.

Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? The Blight
Ten years ago, the Blight appeared. A beautiful forest, where the leaves and animals glowed brilliantly at night. It became a wonder of the entire world, and people began venturing from across the continent to visit it. No one took it any more seriously than that, not in the beginning. Then the disappearances started. At first, it was just farm animals and pets. Then, hunters and travelers close to dusk. By the time children started disappearing from villages, it was too late to do anything. The Blight was spreading, from tree to tree like a sickness, crawling out in all directions. The animals and beasts inside it changed as well. They grew larger, stronger, and more ferocious than anything seen before. Simple farm animals became horrific monsters, distorted to disgusting proportions and violently spreading chaos out from the forest. When the first reports came in of infected animals dragging people alive off into the forest... then the real panic began. Towns fell to the Blight, then cities. Armies were sent to push it back, and were overrun. Heroes and legends ventured out, to no avail. Soon, it was public knowledge to all: Those who entered the forest, never returned. ...So what happens when a young boy comes out of the forest, carrying nothing but a dagger and remembering nothing but his own name?

Currently working on a second draft. Spelling and grammar is definitely my biggest weakness, particularly in my earlier stuff. I've done some editing and hopefully have ironed out most of these mistakes in my older chapters though I'm fairly certain there are some mistakes still left. This story is ongoing. Updates are slow as I publish when a chapter is ready. Expect long chapters for most of it. Just sort of my style. Only available on Royal road.com
