I Will Be The Monkey God! Chapter 51

Chapter 51: I like her!
"Yakuzan! Today, you will meet my friends! Yumi has scary eyes, but you will be able to see her lovely side! Sandra is also fun, but we have to be careful with the crowd! If there are not many people, she will open herself to you." Michu, Yakuzan, and KongFu were on their way to Michu's Banana farm.
On their way, Michu spoke about his friends. But it was like a reminder as Michu often spoke about his closest ones, "There is also Carlos and other soldiers. They have weird ideas and Yumi often kicks them, but they are good people too."
Yakuzan nodded while KongFu bared his tongue. He was ready for the inevitable! His inheritor didn't spot that motion, so it was really inevitable! The three of them could already see the banana farm and patrolling soldiers.
All of them looked weirdly at Yakuzan, Michu, and KongFu.
"What happened?" The soldiers looked into each other's eyes and asked.
-
Venomous had returned from her subclass quests. It was not surprising that she took the poison-related subclass as part of her path toward glory! It was more appropriately called Poison Alchemist.
This class was one of many classes that would put the player closer to the poison magic! However, Venomous was far from that so she greatly shifted her path toward a more unique one.
But to no one's surprise, Yumi had been bothered by the lack of contact with the monke. Her last four years had been filled with loneliness and harsh life, so once she found support within his eyes, Yumi needed to see his smile at least once to sustain the whole week.
This was also a valuable experience for a white-haired lady.
What was on the picture, even if taken by the professional, still couldn't amount to what eyes would see in its place. Yumi was so close with monke that she couldn't enjoy his picture wholeheartedly due to their lack of contact.
So even though she had great achievements so far, Yumi was more about monke. She also wanted to see his progress.
"You have changed. It's a good change, though." Sandra was also here and called out Venomous' change.

Taking a glance at the witch, Yumi replied, "You too. I can't tell it yet, but you seem liberated."
"Don't use such big words. It's nothing much," Sandra awkwardly waved her hands, but inwardly whispered, 'Nothich much yet, I hope...' The witch's smile didn't wear off and she looked as charming as usual.
No, it was even more charming as Yumi's words weren't said out of consideration. Michu would notice this change, but the two ladies talked ambiguously and didn't expose much to each other.
But they weren't that close and they were a party in the true essence. You would rarely have a party with the honest monke who would change it immediately into something different with his genuine curiosity and interest toward the whole world.
Thus, Venomous and Sandra were like players that began to team up more just recently. It would take some time for them to become closer or maybe someone would lend a hand? Nonetheless, Michu finally arrived!
"What happened?" Both of them exclaimed after seeing Michu's entrance.
It would be better to begin from the front, though.
At the very helm stood Yakuzan! Wearing his black coat that trailed the ground, sunglasses he had stolen from some cry-baby player, and a red cap that he took together with himself to represent other monkeys, Yakuzan was like the bodyguard you would see near the celebrities.
He swung his biceps back and forth and if you dared to look badly into his eyes, he would spit and kick you away! The same would happen if you threw a weird glance at Michu who was his good friend!
You don't fuck around with this monkey boss!
There was also Michu! Michu had changed greatly too after grasping his staff abilities and properly fulfilling the Azure Lake's inheritance. His aura changed, he didn't like to part with his staff too and his whole appearance was like a seasoned warrior.
Though he lacked much experience, he wouldn't lose easily and could combat opponents with higher levels than him already! With more world content, Michu would show off more of the mythic class.
In Venomous' eyes, he still looked cute, but that season warrior's aura made him also cuter.

She then spotted a threat on his arm!
Baby monke! KongFu! "There you are... Snake Goddess!"
BANG!
Kicking away Michu's arm, KongFu used his small body nimbly. Even if this old god got turned into this pathetic form, his speed confused Venomous! He was just that fast and on his four, KongFu slapped the ground to leap high!
Once Venomous' face was within his reach, he whirled and let out a tail slap! "History won't repeat itself! The Snake Goddess is a threat! You have that within your blood, woman!" If his movements and fluent language weren't enough, Venomous understood that the old existence appeared before her.
She retreated as fast as she could and the tail missed her by hair-breadth.
"KongFu?" Yumi asked and the baby monke scoffed.
He landed on the ground and instantly pounced back at her! If the tail didn't work, then his claws would! He would dig out her eyes and make her forget about the inheritor! However, the baby monke got caught by Michu's hands.
"Don't let her bewitch you! My son didn't believe what happened to me! And even if he did, he still chose to believe that those snakes changed! Guess what?! Yeah, I fucking died! Bitch!" The baby monke waved his hands and legs, but Michu just rubbed his balled fist against his head and forced him to quiet down.
"I like her!" Michu began making the snake blush faintly.
KongFu hissed at her attempts of seduction!
Michu continued, "Yumi is my good friend who helped me greatly in this world! You are the same, KongFu! Both of you have helped me, so I will help you too! Snake Goddess? I will defeat her for you!"
"You can't even withstand her worthless charm! The Snake Goddess will eat you alive!" KongFu howled, but his head got an additional hand on it. It was the snake that spoke with the vein on her temple and a smile that seemed sweet yet threatening.
Yumi asked, "Worthless charm? That's not what you should say to a hot snake like me." Her grasp became stronger, stretching KongFu's eyes. He cried out to stop, then Michu let him go.
The monke stated, "We are also close to the snakes!"
"What did you say?" KongFu felt like he misheard something.
"When I use the staff, I feel like it slithers around my arm and body so that I can reach anyone I want around me. It's like a snake, isn't it? Hehe!"
"No... No..." It was like a nail in the coffin. The monkey god knew that there was no hope for this naive monke. He had yet to experience something similar to betrayal or much shock in his life to understand KongFu's worries.
Nonetheless, KongFu also was on the wrong side. He didn't know Venomous and what kind of person she was or what she had gone through. Thus, both of them had to learn.
Venomous also ignored KongFu and turned her eyes to Michu, "All of us should get proper equipment. I want us to go on an impossible quest. But I think it's time, isn't it?"
"A time?" Michu titled his head.
"A time for your golden bananas to appear at the auction. I can help you with all the paperwork." Yumi smiled and offered a hand. This made KongFu whisper to himself, 'I should've used bananas on her... Fuck me and my rash side...' He then glanced at her and scoffed like a wrong brat.
"Yeah... It's time..." Michu slowly responded.
His nervousness was bare to everyone. If this banana farm failed to get at least some proper income for a few months, then Michu would go to the part-time job immediately! He smiled faintly, but his two friends also cast beautiful smiles to support him.
Michu then patted Yakuzan's back! "Heh! You know KongFu, but Yakuzan is also a great guy! He will be our tank!"
The Monkey Boss, Snake, The witch looked at each other.
Nod.
Nod.
Nod.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
