I Will Be The Monkey God! Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Subclasses
"But that's what you want, right?" Michu smiled broadly, his smile genuine.
He strolled his way to the white-haired player and sat down on his initial position that was not too far away from her.
Her eyes never left him and its glitter demanded more.
Michu said, "You wouldn't help me if you didn't want to become my friend! You also don't look like a bad person, so we can be friends and level up together!" Michu's sister had researched the game forum to help Michu.
However, she didn't have enough time and Michu also wanted her to spend time having fun too.
That was why he just followed one of her first advices which was to join someone's party and find a good friend to play the game with.
He didn't have time to go around newbie players and seek out a party, but a good opportunity finally arrived.
There was a lady that helped him, so she must want something from him as well.
If not, then she would have a kind heart and Michu would be even more glad to have such a person as his first friend in the game.
[Venomous has added you to her friend list.]
"Eh… That name sounds evil," Michu exclaimed, then turned his eyes to a white-haired woman. She just hid her sword in the inventory and took a seat next to him on the ground.
Her eyes glanced at all golden bananas that began to assimilate with each other.
"You are level 1…" Venomous said after glancing at her friend list. It didn't take a genius to infer that Michu had something unique within him.
He had the strength to beat players with higher levels and without any skill behind his staff. A raw talent could play some role, but not in this early stage without any proper equipment.
Venomous then spotted one banana appearing in Michu's hands.
He glanced at the banana with a drool leaving his lips, "I did it… Hehe! I did it!"
"Don't stain your happiness with unsightly saliva," Venomous commented, her hand somehow holding the handkerchief that wiped off the saliva from Michu's chin.
He glanced at her and said, "This is what all those players wanted, but it's my hard work and luck! It's rude to take it away, right?"
"Right," She replied.
Michu instantly got more convinced that she was a good person, "I will check it now! Excuse me!"

"Don't shout too much," Venomous just rolled her eyes and waited for this man's excitement to wear off.
[The Monkey God's Banana!]
[The Monkey God's banana has turned into Monkey God's Inheritor Banana Grade: Common!]
[Usage: Upon eating this banana, The Monkey God's Inheritor can unlock one of the random stats.]
[Normal Player's Usage: Upon eating this banana, you won't get hungry for a whole day and your stamina wears off slower by 50%]
"Venomous, do you know some random stats?" Michu asked.
He carefully thought about this question, but it shouldn't reveal much.
However, the white-haired player asked back, "So this banana can give you random stat? There are many random stats out there. This world is just too big and I haven't even explored it too much. Check my level please,"
"You are level three," Michu replied.
"Yes, so we can only research through the forum and videos about random stats. But if I had to guess, then something random like higher critical chance, sticky foot skill or maybe even flying ability should come out from it." Venomous responded.
Hearing her, Michu's eyes went wide, "How smart! It might be true! No, it should be true!" Michu laughed out loud and raised his golden banana, "When I was small, I imagined myself flying a lot! Now, I can achieve it! It brings back some nice memories! Hehe!"
"Good for you," Venomous faintly smiled, which was rare, and she stood up. Her hand extended and Michu took it without any pause. Both of them took a stroll as they couldn't stay in this place for too long.
The mysterious item could notify higher leveled players, so Venomous would rather speak somewhere else, "Why do you play this game?" She asked as a friend and Michu didn't hide much.
He said, "I want to become… strong!" He was close to spitting out the truth! Now that he had the monkey god-related class, Michu had to be really careful just like his sister had said before.
The young man smiled awkwardly and continued, "If I become a strong player, I will be able to get a lot of money through this game. This should suffice!"
"Money, then." Venomous responded, "Then, you have to do a lot of research beforehand and be careful with your abilities. Should this golden banana event happen again, you will just lose everything."

"..." Michu looked at the ground, slightly sad. He had been lucky so far, but Venomous words were right. He couldn't rely on luck for too much and be careful.
"I didn't know that this world has so many gangsters!" Michu came to an understanding which wasn't what Venomous had been anticipating.
Nonetheless, she said, "I have a lot of time to play this game. I don't have any doubts about my skills because everything has been easy so far for me. The problem is that I lack people… Would you like to team up with me? It's not a party, but more like a guild instead."
"Sure! But why do you play this game?" After Michu asked the same, Venomous looked around as if her reason was too serious.
She replied, "I want to create a guild, just as I said. The guild for a sole one purpose…"
"What purpose?" Michu's curiosity got piqued. He tilted his head and looked at her with shining eyes.
But Venomous put her finger on his lips, "Don't ask too many questions. Ladies don't like that. If you follow me, then you will eventually get to know it. By then, you will decide. I can assure you that my guild won't stop you. I want to reach the top as fast as possible."
"I see… A gangster." Michu nodded with understanding.
She must have been hurt by the gangster, so she wanted to repay him back in this game!
Michu imagined some lame scenario, but he wasn't too far away from the truth.
Venomous' eyes turned a little colder and Michu felt like distancing himself, "A gangster is too nice for that person. But you can fuck up a lot of lives through this game. I know it and you will learn about it too with that special class of yours-"
"Don't curse," Michu said after putting his finger on her lips, "Isn't it improper for ladies to curse?" That was what Michu's sister said and he followed her closely, "And I don't have a special class! I am a staff holder!"
"There is no staff holder class at such a level," Venomous retorted, her handkerchief brushing her lips.
"You would need to get a subclass for proper staff skills. Do you know about subclasses?" The lady asked.
"I don't-"
"Of course, you don't. I could already tell. In this game, subclasses direct your path. If I had to tell you the easiest comparison… then Archer who would learn fire spirit art through his subclass would become Fire Archer… No, that's a bad comparison… I think the paladin is the easiest example; a warrior and believer subclass equal the paladin class. You get one subclass at level 25, then another one at level sixty-five."
"What?" Michu scratched his hair roughly.
He clearly didn't understand much of those subclasses. Just what did she mean? Oh, that was a mystery for Michu…
"Tell me, do you have a unique class?" Venomous couldn't explain it easier, so she demanded that information.
Though she was close to 100% sure of it, she wouldn't explain if Michu ended up with the normal class.
"I don't!" Michu replied instantly.
"I could help you with your golden bananas if I had proper knowledge about it. Since I read the forums and the most important game aspects, I can at least guide you towards the first subclass. Anyway, I am still foreign-"
"You are my friend, but I can't tell you yet. It's because I have yet to see every facet of yours!" Michu innocently laughed and Venomous just blanked.
She couldn't face too much innocence and she was too foreign with it. In her life, she had met various people, but no one was like Muchu.
Her eyes turned away, "You should think about your first subclass. It's best to keep working towards it from the beginning. At least that's what people said on guides."
"I will…" Michu thought inwardly. If he has the golden banana skill, then should he think of a farmer subclass? Would that help him get his banana farm and sell the good quality bananas for money?
Of course, this desire was also hidden from Venomous, but it wouldn't be long before she would learn of that.
Michu laughed and said, "I think I know what to do! Thanks for your help! I will rely on you when it comes to the game! If you want bananas or need some help, then call me! I will help you too!"
"Banana… Why would I ask you for a banana? Don't you have any second thoughts?" Venomous asked with a sharp tone.
But Michu just laughed, "Hehe, you will know in the future!" His words made her eyebrows knit.

Soul of the Warrior
In a world where Classes, Stats, and Levels are the everyday norm, Reivyn has a secret. He was unusually aware of his surroundings from an incredibly early age, and Skills and Stats were acquired easily. He was just the son of an ordinary village family, and nothing appeared out of the ordinary on the surface. But below the surface, dreams of another life help shape his mentality and growth. Why does he have some remembrance of a past life, and what is his purpose in this new one? "Soul of the Warrior" is what I call a Semi-Isekai LitRPG. I say "semi," because Reivyn's past life is remembered like a dream, and very incomplete. It is still Isekai, though, as he remembers enough that it directly shapes his personality and his sense of self. The System that governs the world of "Soul of the Warrior" is a combination of modified versions from Selkie's "Beneath the Dragoneye Moons" and Kosnik4's "Magic Smithing." I have changed enough of these Systems and combined them in a way that is unique that I'm mostly sure it's fine, but I still have requested permission to use these ideas. They have both graciously granted me permission. Winner of the April Writathon Challenge. Release Schedule is Mon, Wed, Fri on Royal Road.

It's just a picture I found one day at DeviantArt and thought that the two shown in the picture looked like how I imagined Lyle and another character to be. Simply put, it was convenient in various way and I also loved the art. From my understanding is is from a collaboration between artists Chocobikies and Pinlin. Twisted Skies
After his master's death, Thurain leaves his rural home behind and travels to Heliana, the cramped city founded on the scientific progress of cultivation. Under a fake name, he aims to enter the Elemental Path Sect, the place of his master's death, to find both his killers, and closure. However, surrounded by the strange and horrible wonders of Heliana and its mixture of heroes and villains, his master's death is not the only murder he may have to solve. --- First attempt at a xianxia novel from me. To shake things up from the usual formula, the setting is more steam-punk than you might expect, and there are elements of murder mystery mixed in with the standard formula (though I'm not entirely sure yet how far to go with it.) I wrote this a while ago for NaNoWriMo, only posting it now for various reasons. Enjoy. Also, cover is highly temporary. I'll probably replace it with something nicer eventually.

The Puppy Project
"Give me my puppy!" I demanded, my eyes ablazed with fiery anger."Correction, it's not your puppy. It's our puppy," He smiled, but it was anything but sweet nor happy."You know what? Damn you! You're nothing but a cold, emotionless, and heartless bad boy!" I sneered, glaring at him fiercely. He chuckled at my words, taking a step closer to me. He slammed his hand unto the wall, trapping me, before leaning in close. "You got that right sweetheart but I think you got one thing wrong." He said, his eyes piercing straight into mine."And what is that?" I managed to asked, my throat seeming to get drier the more he looked at me."I'm neither one of those when I'm with you," and with those words, slammed his lips into mine.#1 in Strong-Female Character - 1/29/21#1 in Sarcasm - 2/4/21#2 in BadBoy - 2/13/21#3 in Teen Fiction - 2/13/21#1 in Mysterious - 3/4/21Copyrighted 2017.
