The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 300

When Yman went back to the waiting room, the room was so silent. Together with their deities, their curious eyes were on him.
In his mind, they must be wondering how he was able to fight like that, especially since he was the person who always fainted in their exercises.
Right, Yman wasn't only popular for being the person who could not muster his mana, he was also the infamous person who had the lowest stamina.
Well, that was a thing in the past.
This fight of Yman surprised all the other trainees. His first match, against Bruno, did not have much impact on them. It even came to the point that most of them forgot how he won that match. After all, everyone was so excited about their own match.
But in this match, against an elite student, most of the trainees started to be wary of him. It was unthinkable that someone from the lower class was able to defeat a trainee in the Elite Class.
While looking at him, most of them felt Yman had transcended to become a new person. Now that they thought about it, he certainly looks very different from before. It was not just a slight change. It was an overall change.
Although most of the trainees were now feeling wary of him, some were surprised and happy at the same time for this great change of him.
Almina stepped forward. "Uh, C-Congrats on winning. That surprised me…" she said bashfully, yet did not forget to muster a warm smile.
He nodded and said his thanks. When he was about to add something, Almina stopped him while saying he needed to rest. Well, he looked so tired.
Jugo wasn't an easy opponent. After using his Prime State and Growth Artefact at the same time, most of his stats already surpassed Yman's. Although he won in the end, it was a hard-fought match.

But there was no worry in his expression, nor fright. There was only satisfaction. He wanted to win this competition, but more than that, he wanted a match that would enable him to exceed his limits. Just with that, his attributes would show an increase.
The blonde, Maena, looked away, she had conflicted feelings at the moment. The reason for it was because she used to look down on him. Honestly, she wanted to ask how he became that strong, physically. This win of him against an elite surprised her greatly. But still, she wasn't the type to openly show it on her face. Maena tried her best to remain as normal as she could be in front of Yman.
Bob and Chloe said their congratulations as well. It surprised them also that Yman was this strong now. That fight was not just a simple fight. The hardened stage was in a mess. It had been broken all over.
Most of the trainees were now looking at him differently, but not all.
"Heh! Look at this guy. Feeling strong? Haha!" Kiko snorted, then asked tauntingly as he walked forward with a chuckle. Following behind him was his gang. "That's not even a good fight. That's just a boring brawl of two muscle brains. Don't think you are so awesome because of that. Just wait when you face up with me. I'll burn you to a cinder," Without waiting for Yman's reply, Kiko and his gang left after saying it. He couldn't wait facing him on the stage.
It angered him that Yman's match became the hot's. He was the one who finished his opponent the fastest even among the other elites. He should be the flesh of everyone's convo. He expected that everyone would be talking about his fast win. But this Toadman was yet again the topic of everyone's talks.

Grr!
For Kiko, Yman and Jugo's match wasn't a big deal. Although Jugo was strong both in physical and magical power, he was more into physical. So in the elite class, Jugo had the weakest magical power. Compared to him and the others, they could easily defeat Yman with their magical prowess. He would be going to show him what real power was when they faced each other.
But Kiko doubted it. He doubted Yman would advance further in this competition. He should have just dropped dead and left the academy. It was more peaceful without him. Well, he was itching to teach this guy true despair and what real power was.
Yman just scratched his face as he watched the figure of Kiko going farther.
"Don't mind him. Regardless, you look so tired," Almina told him.
"No, I'm fine, actually," Yman replied. Although he looked so beat up, he wasn't as wimpy as before. Even a single percent of stamina left would not be enough to faint him.
Almina blinked her eyes as she stared at him. "Are you sure?" She asked.
The others also doubted Yman's words. After all, that match just now was so insane.
However, he only nodded. "I'm really fine," he said after a smile. Then he told them that he had to go first as he had some errand he needed to accomplish.
He noticed Almina sighed, but Yman chose not to mind it. The headmaster gave him a mission of handling a letter to the Barracks.
Before Yman left the waiting hall, his body glowed briefly. He canceled his resonance with his deity.
When everyone saw Sistela, Bob and the others were quite surprised. Jazz flew beside Sistela and gazed at her. Maybe she was wondering if it was the same deity she knew or different.
Both Almina and Maena showed an understanding look at Yman after a brief stunned upon seeing his deity.
"So it was the Imp-Series with a One Second Invisibility ability," Maena muttered.
Yman nodded.
"Is this the variant of the Imp-Series?" Almina asked upon seeing that Sistela's color was green. The standard Imp-series had only red and blue. Both colors had additional illusion ability. But the green one was a little special. It had One Second Invisibility ability.
"....."
Sistela didn't like being stared at in her current form. She tried to hide behind her partner's head.
"Yeah, it is a variant of the Imp-series," he nodded.
"Is that the reason why you were able to dodge Jugo's leaping attack?" Suddenly, someone interjected. When they glanced at where the voice came from. They saw a beautiful girl with pointed ears.
"Miss Rei…" Almina muttered while narrowing her eyes.
Rei-Rei together with the others in her party were moving towards them.
"Who knows…" his reply was just simple. He had no obligation to explain. Joining this competition was just for fun, actually. And also, to get some experience.
But before Yman could leave, Almina insisted on coming. He also noticed Bob and Chloe wanted to tag along.
Yman pondered briefly if it was fine to let them come.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.

Journey into My New Life
I was once a college student who minded his own business. That's not to say I am a coward but I just didn't involve myself with events outside of my scope of existence. That all changed when the Fire Nation attacked... Just kidding. But in all seriousness due to several unfortunate events I died and went to heaven or whatever. I was given a mission and sent on my way to my next life. I suppose you could call it rebirth but the world I was reborn in is very different than Earth. There are many races and many new things including MAGIC! Unfortunately, there is little to no technology or science never underestimate the stupidity of a people who can just wave their hand and make fire. "How does it work?"" "It just works?"" ""What happens if you give it extra oxygen?"" "What is 'oxygen' is it tasty?"AN: Hey, this is my first official novel/fiction. I plan to separate it into several books and I have it all planned out I just have to write the actual story. I'll try to post at least once a week after I upload the first 30,000 words.Although this has a Mature tag it's only slightly mature. I don't go over the top with gore there may however be sexual scenes in later chapters.Parts of this are similar to mushoku tensei but the story later diverges from the canon.
