The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 283

"When the signal to start the battle was issued, Almina's figure disappeared on her spot. The next time she appeared was already at the back of her enemy, about five steps away from her.
It was a quick downward attack that sliced her enemy vertically. Her enemy could not even release an arrow as her target already disappeared from her sight. Then in an instance, a long-vertical wound appeared on her enemy's body. It was an instant kill.
On the contrary, although Maena's attack also killed her enemy on the spot, her enemy was able to last with an additional half-second."
Yman explained to the others, who were confused as to why Miss Almina's attack had less time than Miss Maena's arrow. "And the best reason about it was because her attack hit the critical spot on her enemy, which caused her to die instantly," he added, which lit the bulb on the other's head.
"I see, so it is because Miss Almina hit the critical part of her enemy," Bob said while pumping his fist on his palm. It was a gesture when someone realized something.
"Could it be coincidental that she hit the critical part of her opponent?" Chloe asked in curiosity.
Yman fell silent and made a thinking gesture. The first time he saw her fighting on the cliff, he already had a suspicion that Almina had a special ability. It was a special ability that enabled her to peek at her opponent's weak points. After all, her damage was just too much. It wasn't ordinary at all. She could even one-hit those golems when they were still at low-level at that time, which is an impossible feat if one thought of it logically.
"Maybe it is…" he said in reply to Chloe's question. Anyhow, he could not disclose such assumptions. He wasn't even sure if it was right or not.

"Tsk…" Maena clicked her tongue in annoyance. She couldn't believe that Almina was able to beat her records just because she was lucky to hit the critical part of her enemy.
The audience was already shouting her name. Some even shouted to marry her and any other affectionate remarks. Probably, most of them were admiring her. Not only because of her appearance but also because of her skills.
Even Rea and Yana were surprised at her. They just blinked their eyes then the fight was already finished.
"See?" Said the old lady beside them as she was puffing her chest. Looked like a grandma who was so proud of her granddaughter.
Rea secretly frowned. This Almina was truly admirable. On the other hand, she could not still perfect the spell she was studying.
In the VIP's they were talking about Almina's win.
"Ohoho! It looks like the hype about her wasn't just for show. Truly admirable and a coming Ace," said one of the big shots in admiration.
"Well, what would you expect of the daughter of the Amulet family?"
"However, it can also be because she had a weak opponent."
"Right, it was still early to assess her."
Everyone had different reactions regarding Almina's win. Now far from them, Sunday glanced at the person sitting close to them. It was Adam Praeter. If she wasn't wrong, the Amulet family had strong relations with the Seeker Association. She wanted to see his reaction. She wanted to know his assessment on Almina Amulet. Sunday suspected that the reason Adam came here was to see Almina Amulet's growth.
However, since Adam Praeter was wearing sunglasses, she could not see the reaction in his eyes.
Everyone congratulated Almina for her win. Then after her fight, it was followed by five other pairs before a one-hour break.

"I see, a break huh," Yman sighed then glanced around. He did not expect that there was such. Since he was yet to fight, he had to come back later. Well, it was only natural that there was breaktime, especially that there were so many participants.
After they announce the break, the announcer Miss Beth, also announces that everyone could dine with delicious snacks and foods while waiting for the competition to resume, they could buy them at affordable prices. After saying it, a group of trainees from the Academy came to the audience with a basket of foods and drinks in their hands.
They consisted of Fish Roll and Fried Whole Egg. There were also cold drinks and yummy milk. Everyone could choose whatever they like.
Yman glanced at the audience podium, "I have to go," he muttered to himself and was about to live when Almina called out to him. "Yman!" He looked behind him and saw Almina with her friends. Then he noticed she opened her mouth again. "If you want… you can come with us…"
Everyone stopped on their feet. It was an offer coming from Almina, and she was asking that person to come with them?!
Unforgivable!
They all wanted that offer. After all, Miss Almina's party consisted of beautiful girls. But how come she was asking that person only!
Kiko glared at Almina and Yman before he left with his friends. 'Just you wait, you will crawl under my feet, later on…' he thought with a glint in his eyes.
Yman stared at Almina. "Uh, I'm with my sister and…"
He noticed that everyone was staring at him. Wait, how should he explain about Rea. He couldn't reveal her identity to everyone. He couldn't be reckless and had to be careful.
Almina remembered about Yana after Yman mentioned her. Right, it was surprising. The last time she knew, his sister was having an illness that could not be healed by normal means. C-Could it be related to Yman's reason for going to the empire? Almina suddenly thought. He wanted to ask him, but she noticed that Yman still wanted to say something.
He sighed. "Sorry, I can't go with you. I have something I need to do…" he decided not to take the risk.
"I see. Then, see you later, Yman," Almina replied dejectedly.
Bob and the others also did not try to ask Yman to come. But they felt suspicious of him. He seemed to be hiding something.
Yman went directly to where Yana and Rea were.

Also available on Audible! After centuries of endless wars, the three greatest nations of the continent have come together in peace. As a symbol of their cooperation, they have worked together to establish the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial, and Arcane Arts, a place where the best and brightest of each nation can gather on neutral ground and share knowledge, techniques, and cultures. Can the peace truly last, or is the academy just another proxy for the constant conflicts the three nations face? None of that matters to Lee Jia, a homeless young girl who's biggest concern is surviving the winter. But when she accidentally stumbles into the academy in search of a new place to stay, her destiny is changed forever. Determined to carve out a new place for herself and make the most of her good fortune, Lee Jia dives head first into the world of magic and martial arts. Fates Parallel is my first serious attempt at writing a story, and a personal love letter to Eastern fantasy and xianxia stories. It's heavily inspired by East Asian culture, folklore, and mythology, with what is likely going to be a decidedly Western artistic license. I try to write every day, with a goal of about 45,000 words per month (~1500 per day). Chapter lengths are around 3000 words on average, releasing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Cover art drawn by the incredibly talented Tsuu (TsurotArtistry).

Single Mother Cultivator: Determination to deny her naïve son a terrible destiny
Lucia Martinez had to fight for every little victory in her life, especially when she was responsible for raising a teenage son by herself. But when the teen gets summoned to another world by a dysfunctional martial sect as their would-be savior, she’ll have to fight harder than ever just to get him back. Brought along to a world of Eastern fantasy, Lucia finds herself face to face with obscure magical creatures, various rich cultures, and a familiar yet unique chi-based magic system that every faction has their own way of looking at. Single Mother Cultivator is as the title suggests, a Cultivation novel. Unlike other Cultivation stories, this one focuses on multiple Asian mythologies rather than just Chinese myth, and isn’t just a generic power fantasy. It explores the very nature of strength itself, and how it could and should be used. The foundational power system is the same for both major factions, with differences in their philosophies on how to pursue it. New chapters on Mon-Wed-Fri

My Life As A Superhero Slash Supervillain
James Jude Jamison is experiencing something a bit odd. He was sitting quietly at his computer desk, playing some kind of RPG, he couldn't which one, although the fate of the universe rests on him remembering which (Oh well, it had to end sometime). So, anyway, suddenly, out of nowhere, he got a bit of a headachne, his nose started to bleed, he then proceeded to make a mess in the family room at the computer room. His mom shouted at him, then he died. Then he woke up. He was reborn. Only he had a UI screen suddenly at the edge of his vision. What the hell. He was meant to have some cool powers, like lazers that shot out of his nipples, maybe some mad dancing skills. He would finally be able to speak to girls without laughing in their faces. Sigh. So this is his story, of how he couldn't decide which career prospect appealed to him more. So he decides to give both being a hero and a villain a go. What could go wrong? *** Edit: 2017.06.18 - 03:08 am EST - JJ seems to have buggered off somewhere without telling me where he went. So I am going to have to piece together this story back from the start with the fragments that he gave me. I will leave the original chapters up, but I will be renaming them so they are obvious if new readers don't want to read them. I am currently trying to write chapter one anew. It will feature new reasons of why JJ starts with the villainous lifestyle first, and the reasons of why he is granted the power he was given. If JJ does come back, I will inform you thusly. Then it will be decision of writing from where he left off or telling him to go choke on his own c**k. If I do decide to take the story up, then it will be a decision of to split the stories in two, and if to keep my version alive and concurrent. Thanks.

UNSPOKEN
Unspoken is a book filled with poems and songs I've made throughout my life. Each chapter will be either a song or poem. They are similar to what many of you have experienced in life... featuring love, heartbreak, loneliness, etc. These are all the emotions I was never able to let out so I chose to write them out on paper.
