The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 243

The branches knocked down the three worms and killed them. Yman was slightly surprised. He didn't use much strength in that attack. Yet the monsters were dead on the spot!
"Are those the creatures you mentioned to me?" Rea beside him suddenly asked.
"Yeah." He nodded. Then he jumped out of the branch and landed near the Wisp. Rea followed and landed near the monster's corpses. "Indeed, they look so unusual." She commented.
"Yeah." He nodded again. "Regardless, don't touch them. They were soaked in the miasma. I can't do anything if you were caught with an illness unless the professor finished the medicine." Yman warned her then approached the Wisp. Rea immediately stopped. She's about to poke it.
Then he coughed several times. Rea asked him about his health. But Yman dismissed the topic by saying it wasn't serious. Rea frowned and pouted. "Suit yourself, humph!"
If he remembered right, the wisp who possessed his scout bee told him that it had a friend. The friend it mentioned must be this flicker of ball-shaped purplish flame in front of him.
It was startled at first and tried to fly away, but Yman quickly caught it.
"!?"
He expected it to be hot as it looks like a sliver of a flickering flame. But he found out that his initial thought was wrong. He even felt a chill when touching it.
"Hey! Do you know someone of the same kind as you?"
"....."
He asked it, but the wisp remained.
"What are you doing?" Rea questioned him.
Yman wondered why he could not converse with this one. On the contrary, the wisp inside his scout bee was talkative.
He shrugged his shoulder from Rea's question. "I know someone who might know it," he replied.

Right then, Yman received a call from the professor. A smile appeared on his face.
He took a peek back at the people of the department of security and saw them sealing the road, also known as the Narrow Pass.
Since the road was in the middle of a steep mountain and forest, it won't be difficult for them to seal it. But Yman also noticed the miasma was a few steps away from those people's faces.
Rea started to understand the situation upon seeing the approaching miasma. "How can you act so calm with this situation?"
In the miasma, grotesque-looking creatures were racing towards the people from the department of security.
Rea almost could not believe it. The way he was telling her about the situation was just like it wasn't so serious.
He heard her and noticed the grimace on her face. "Just calm yourself." Upon hearing his reply, Rea wondered if this person had the word of fear in his vocabulary. "Aside from that, I might be needing your help," he added.
"....."
After they left, rode on his bird fire doll, they heard explosions from the rear.
Rea glanced behind and saw the people from the department of security preventing the advance of the monster's horde.
Magical spells were raining towards the opposing group. The people from the department of security were having a difficult time because of the miasma.
Although the fight was still ongoing, it was so clear that their blockade wasn't a success.
Below them, Rea and Yman noticed more people coming towards the battle. They believed that they were the reinforcement of the people from the department of security.
"Will they be okay?" Rea asked worriedly. But then she noticed the person beside her had no ounce of worry on his face. Well, she couldn't blame him. After all, he wasn't a Demihuman in the first place. After a while of no reply coming from the person beside her, "I-I think, I need to help them…" she said and glanced at his expression. But then again, no change on his face.

On top of that, he sped up the mount. In Yman's mind, he wondered if this mad lass princess heard his words a while ago. He already told her that he needed her help.
Without replying to her, he sped up the mount.
Ronnie handed the elixir sample to him when they arrived at the Little Garden. "It's called Purification Elixir. So, what are you planning to do with it?" Professor Ronnie asked. Rea, besides him, glanced at him with curiosity.
He didn't answer immediately and stared at the clear liquid inside the transparent bottle.
A second later, they noticed him extending his mouth to both sides to form a wry smile.
"To resolve all the issues."
"....."
"....."
Rea and Professor Ronnie didn't know what he meant by his words, but after saying it, he didn't say more.
Professor Ronnie was wondering what the kid could do with such a little bottle of Purification Elixir. Although it looks so clear, like lake water, it wasn't an ordinary elixir.
However, the amount was so little for the amount they'd spent. So Ronnie doubted that he could do big with that one little bottle of Purification Elixir. At most, it could heal those apprentices who came yesterday.
Ronnie did not expect that those students had inhaled so much miasma.
Rea also doubted Yman's claim. But, why did she feel so relieved when she heard him? Even though the situation was so bleak. She could even see more people flying and running towards the direction of the mountain. Looks like the situation over there had worsened. Perhaps, the higher council already noticed the situation.
Rea was right. At the moment, the situation in the western part was already known by many. The news of countless creatures and miasma coming closer and closer to the mainland had proliferated.
Many Demihumans had started to panic. Some were busily contacting their relatives through their MTMD's.
"Hey, where are you guys going?" Inside the Citadel a Demihuman with bunny ears asked his friends when he noticed them rushing outside.
"We heard many evolved monsters were heading this way"
"Really?!"
The person nodded his head. "Don't you think it was a good chance to gather a high-level Inner Cores?"
They rushed to the place. But when they arrived at the Narrow Pass, they soon realized that the situation wasn't an ideal one. It was a very bad situation.
Some people fell on the ground, felt weak while coughing terribly.
"M-Miasma?" They muttered.
"Tsk! Help! I can't heal them!"
One of the healers shouted with a grimace.

A Soul's Wish
Hey everyone! Just a heads up. I am adding the Traumatising content tag because some parts might be considered as, well, traumatising. I want to point out though, it is not my aim to make a story that focuses on this aspect. Yuki is a college freshman that has been pulled into a fantasy world full of magic and monsters. Without any special talents, at level one, and with only a mere wisp as a companion he will need to figure out how to survive in the hostile environment. As he grows stronger and travels across this new world, he will find friends, make enemies, learn betrayal, overcome obstacles and grow into a hero. Hopefully. His goal? To save a princess, of course. A classic adventure fantasy story set in another world. Cover by the lovely Sara Lucasi Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/saralucasi/
