The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 241

A shocked expression was unconcealed on his face. Clenching his teeth, he tried to summon more strength on his legs. Damn it! He gritted his teeth forcefully that produced a scraping noise.
He wondered why it seemed the gravity had suddenly fallen over him.
In the Citadel, "Is that--" Gamebet said in doubt, but his words failed to finish as he wasn't sure if it was what he thought it was. "Yes, that is an Intimidation ability." However, beside him, with glistening eyes, Sweet Bun continued his word confidently, confirming his initial thought to be right.
Gamebet's face lit up upon hearing her, "Woah! Brother Mysterious was able to produce a strong Intimidation ability!" he said in excitement. His voice was on the loose, making the other audience Rankers hear him. He was wondering if brother Mysterious was a Real Path Expert or maybe a Hegemon?! The curiosity to see him in person rose at a new height.
Not only him, the other Rankers inside who were currently watching the match between Ranker The Mysterious and Ranker Mist God had started whispering at each other, especially when they heard Gamebet's exclamation.
Falmouth, on the other hand, was clenching his biceps subconsciously. "Dammit, intimidation! Who would have thought that this Mysterious shit had such an ability hidden under his sleeve!" he grumbled.
He took a glance to his right, to where the mysterious gambler was staring at the monitor. Damn! One million Ranker Points wasn't easy money! Still, he could not read the expression on this person's face.
He had the impulse to snap the mask and glasses from this person's face! But sadly, he could not do such an unlawful act blatantly.
Although it bothered him that the enemy could cast a strong ability such as Intimidation, it didn't bother him for long before a smile returned on his face.

Regardless, if Mist God found himself in a dire situation, he could always disperse in the mist with that technique!
The Mist Fusion! Hehehe! It was the reason why Falmouth wasn't so worried. As long as Mist God was in the mist, it was almost impossible to beat him.
Everyone inside the Citadel fell silent the moment they heard a loud crashing sound.
They focused their eyes on the screen and saw a figure buried in the pit!?
Standing beside that figure was no other than Ranker The Mysterious!
WHAAAT!
"Dammit, how did it happen?!" Screamed the person who lost his focus on the screen after the person beside him kept bubbling about the intimidation ability of Ranker The Mysterious. When they heard the loud crashing noise, Mist God was already in the pit. It was regretful they didn't see how Ranker The Mysterious did it! Wait, in truth, his eyes were darting to the screen and the person beside him.
He even noticed when Mist God fell to Mysterious man's Intimidation. Mist God tried to use the skill that enabled him to disappear in the sea of mist to escape.
He didn't see what happened after. Noooooo! He cried inwardly. He had the urge to choke to death this mouthy-person beside him. Because of him, he skipped the best part of the match. "Dammit! This blah blah blah…" he whined.
"....."
The person beside him fell silent. Afraid that he would gather more hate to himself from the annoyed person beside him. He failed too to see that best part where Ranker The Mysterious pounced his enemy to the ground.
Just then, "The heck, how did Ranker Mysterious do that? Mist God had already disappeared. But the raging fist of Ranker Mysterious still hit him?" exclaimed the person from behind them.

"What?! Brother, can you tell us more!" The person behind them started retelling what happened.
Since Mist God was already in his mist form, his enemy shouldn't be able to hit him. With the Mist Fusion ability, Mist God was difficult to hurt because not only he became invisible his body would fuse into the mist also.
Most people inside the Citadel cheered in disbelief. None of them could explain why the result was like that.
"Truly, our brother was truly a Mysterious man!" Gamebet exclaimed.
"Fufufu!" A mischievous laugh came from Sweet Bun as she glanced at Falmouth, who was sweating at the moment.
One million Ranker Points was not a joke! Upon noticing the stare from the mysterious gambler to him, Falmouth slightly trembled.
'Damn it!' He grumbled inwardly and glanced around. But before he could find an opening to slip away, he was surrounded by the supporters of Ranker The Mysterious.
His whole body started to sweat like a bucket of water splashed onto him. He shouted that Ranker The Mysterious was cheating.
However, no one believed such a claim. It was impossible to cheat inside the Virtual Arena. After all, they could not bring any items from the outside world into the Virtual Arena and vice versa.
'It was Mist God's fault! It was Mist God's fault…" he repeatedly shouted.
In the end, he paid one million Ranker Points to Sweet Bun. Falmouth left the Citadel with a heavy feeling.
Many Rankers asked the Citadel's staff to replay the last part of the battle between the Ranker The Mysterious and Ranker Mist God.
The staff replayed the high several times. Everyone gawked upon seeing for many times the last part of their match. They couldn't discover anything strange in his last attack.
From the audience's perspective, Ranker The Mysterious just did a normal Raging Fist.
But those who already knew him knew that he used that ability-- that enabled him to cancel the magical energy usage of his opponent. The Mist Fusion had became useless.
Gilion narrowed his eyes before he left the Citadel. He needed to practice. He must become stronger before fighting that person.
Yman didn't waste time and directly looted the dead body of the enemy.
Although their soul would return to the real body the second after their defeat, the virtual body would remain in a min before it turned to light particles and disappeared.
Yman was grinning from ear to ear. He was lucky that the enemy had much better tier equipment compared to him. Now it was his. Fufu, for some reason, this game-like simulation battle was so fruitful.
Not only he could loot some items, but he could also gain combat experience.
And it made him very excited to see different kinds of techniques. Unfortunately, he could not copy as he could not bring his scout bee inside.

The times and struggle of a orc cook in the Demon Lord's army. (On Hiatus due to reasons seen in summary)
Title needed a change. So a full honest update to you all who are reading and following this story. I'm putting this story on a Hiatus not only because of I'm trying to improve my spelling and grammer (which is slow going) but also due to other reasons listed down below. 1) The story is getting a full re-write as these last months have given me time to see what I have already writen and what else I have planned is not gonna work no matter how much I've tried with what I call 'test chapters' to see how what works or not. 2) I don't really have the time to write, mainly thanks to life deciding to throw a bunch of stuff and leaving me exhausted both mentally and physically. And what little free time I have is barely enough for me to do anything that other than sleep or play a game for maybe 15 min. 3) I have a job and bills to pay. Some of which are overdue. It also dose not help that thanks to the new inflations in prices, I've been struggling to get things in order. So now you all know. Once things have calmed down and gotten somewhat in order again, I'll be posting the new first chapter as soon as I can along with a new summary for the story. Until then, I hope you all have a nice day and enjoy all the other stories you can find around this wonderful site.
