The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 231

Yman was surprised when he materialized on the battlefield. A sudden notification notified him that his armor increased 20% and his speed increased by 10%.
The cause of the increase was the soul devoured by his 5d-Seer. He discovered that when his 5d-Seer consumed a monster soul, it boosted some of his stats.
But it was only applicable inside the Virtual Arena.
The boost in his speed also gave an additional effect on his Rapid Leap skill. The distance of his Rapid Leap had increased a few meters.
Since his perception was already exceptional, it was easy for him to perceive a hidden enemy inside the two hundred diameters.
Even the laid traps were very clear to him.
Using his Rapid Leap skill, he was able to sneak the enemy's back.
Forming his palm into a chop, he beheaded the enemy before it even noticed his presence.
It was an easy win.
Silent Killer, on the other hand, was afraid to get out of the private room; he was defeated by a newbie! Not only that, it was a very shameful defeat!
For sure, everyone was waiting for him to show up to make fun of him. Silent Killer decided to sneak out.
Some of the Rankers who saw their fight had started to notice the Ranker with the codename The Mysterious.
However, it wasn't to the extent that they would feel wary of him. After all, it was only a single win and he even lost in his first match. Yman was unaware of their thoughts, and even if he did, he would never give care to it.
He received 50 Ranker points and was promoted to level 1.
He remembered reading in the manual that he could loot the enemy's items. He then took the enemy's dagger and armor before choosing to leave the battlefield.

After his first win, he decided to search for a new opponent.
A few seconds later,
"Hey guys, it's him again!" One of the audience pointed at the monitor. "Who?!" The person beside him, asked in wonder.
"That guy!" He said as he pointed.
"Oh, The Mysterious?!" Said the person upon realizing the Ranker's identity inside the monitor.
"Fuck! It's his third time to duel!" Exclaimed the person while wearing a face that could not believe.
"I know right!"
"That person must be sick!"
"In any case, who is the opponent this time?"
"Fuck it! A level 6!"
"What!?"
They exclaimed noisily.
Yman found himself near the river. He chose a random selection, and the 5d-Seer brought him here.
He decided to stroll around while waiting for his opponent. A moment later, he received a notification that the enemy had successfully dove inside the arena.
The arena for a duel had a total range of 4 kilometers. It was big for only two people. One needed a high perception to find their opponent.
While he was strolling, he noticed a presence. About 150 meters away to his left, behind a tree, the enemy was hiding.
It was unfortunate that he could not summon his Fire Dolls. He stored them inside his Cyber Storage but learned that the Cyber Storage was inaccessible inside the Virtual Arena.
He could only use his real strength in this regard.
He took some pieces of stones that were lying on the ground.
Using the low-tier spell, he fortified the stones and used them to fire towards the hidden enemy. With the flung of his finger, the stones traveled like bullets. It all pierced to the trunk of the trees.
"Ugh! What--!"
A groaning sound was heard after that together with a puzzled exclamation.

He fired rapidly to the tree. Making countless holes in it. He only stopped when a notification about his opponent surrendered the fight.
"....."
"Damn! What was that?!"
"Is he a Demihuman or a monster?"
"Who else could fire a stone like that?"
"....."
So many questions from the audience. But none of them could present an answer.
The reason why the enemy chose to surrender was to avoid the enemy from looting his items. Also, he was on the verge of death already.
Yman sighed in regret. He wanted to loot the enemy. But the enemy was wise enough to surrender before having himself killed by him.
After defeating the third opponent, he received an additional 50 points and his Ranker level was promoted to level 2.
He could send a message to the Citadel to order specific items but he chose not to, for now. Because Level 2 wasn't a good level to shop for items. At this level, he could only buy low-grade weapons made of stones. The same with armors.
In the Citadel, those who had watched his fight were still talking about the recent match. They were wondering what kind of attack he used in that fight.
It was the first time they saw it.
Firing the stones like rapid bullets were just too hard to believe. If they didn't witness it with their own eyes, they would say that it was impossible.
Perhaps they were dreaming at the moment?
It was surreal.
Those who hadn't able to watch the fight had started to feel curious because of random whispers from around them. Other Rankers had started talking about The Mysterious.
"Hey, what are you guys talking about?"
Some Rankers came and joined the conversations. But soon, they wondered if these people were sick in the head. Stones were fired rapidly like bullets of magic-based guns? Dammit! Who in their right mind would believe it?
Most of the Rankers who just heard it had the same reactions as the others.
At most, they could fire fortified stones for three consecutive. Even with that, they could not guarantee that it could pierce the tree branches. Maybe some genius could do it, but not to the level that they could inflict the whole tree with countless holes.
A moment later, another notification resounded inside the Citadel.
"Dammit! I got a challenge invitation from a random challenger.
"Eh? Really?"
"Yeah!"
"Wait, aren't you a Level 7 Ranker already?"
"Dammit, who was the enemy?"
"Check his Ranker Status!"
Tap! Tap! Tap!
"What?! A level 2 Ranker?!!"
"Puwahahaha!"
"Hehe, a newbie!"
"Lucky! Idiot! It must be a newbie who didn't know how to operate the Seer and unintentionally sent a challenge invitation to you!"
Not far from the noisy crowd of Rankers, some Ranker started to yell out of envy towards their friend who got a challenge invitation from a newbie.

Gamble
My name is Vak Tychus. Aside from the, regrettably striking name, there were very few things I'd judge, that made me - me. The name had to do with chance or fate. My last name was Latin, derived from the Latinized name Eutychus which was the combination of two Greek words corresponding to "good" and "luck, chance, and fortune." Now that you know why I'm so unhealthily and exceedingly prone to gambling I can begin to teach you why exactly I love it so much. There's a handful of things you'd have to know to really appreciate how to gamble. You'd be surprised at how much you can learn in two decades supposing you stuck with it your entire life. Although, there are some stark differences between betting a handful of cash and your life against monstrous creatures intent on your blood. Well, you learn a thing or two, if you can believe it. Here, in fact, we can start with the first one: Taking a risk. Try it now and start reading.

Life as a Game, Cool
Soo… Hello? Why am I doing this? Ugh… Anyway, name’s Sethsamm, no last name. Why you ask? Well… it all started with me waking up and having this holographic RPG-like window in front of me. Sounds like one of the many mangas’ I read, funny. So I got this window, then it explains that my life is now a video game. And then shit hits the hay… Starts up a bit slow, also a bit of wish fulfillment. Of course, there will be plot since I have a dislike for stories without plot, conflict, or even MC struggles.
