The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 206

The fast-paced battle continued once again.
Long nails came slashing at him at all sides. He had to evade to survive the enemy's aggressive attack on him.
His ears picked another sound coming from his side. It was a kind of sound like tearing the space. A bad premonition attacked him. Without glancing at it, he decided to roll without a second thought.
A split second after he rolled, five slashed marks drew a line in the air where he was positioned a moment ago.
Multiple killing intent was sent towards him. All of them were coming from around him.
After the roll, he sprung using the force of his hand and feet.
Long nails pierced deeper in the ground the moment he sprung away.
Yman immediately sent a kick, his foot landed on the face of the dummy. It was late to react because it was struggling to unbury the nails in the ground.
Face first when the enemy was sent flying away, it even crashed on the approaching dummy. The two of them rolled many times on the ground before it went to a stop a few meters away from him.
He twisted his body to the left and able to dodge the attack coming from above.
He was doing all he could to avoid getting skewered by the enemies.
The moment the enemy came attacking him, he would react hastily while sending a counter.
But the enemy was just too many, and some of them able to graze him. However, he would use his healing spell to heal himself. So the graze wasn't a big issue for him. Or any wounds.
Yet, while he was busy dodging the enemy's attack at his front, another unavoidable attack coming from his side. If he dodged it, he would put himself in a more bad situation from the attack coming from the back and the enemy on the other side.

He decided to brace himself and let the kick coming to his right hit him.
He hardened his arm muscle to lessen the impact.
When the kick arrived, Yman's face twitched as his whole body was sent towards the other enemy on the other side. He collided with it and the two of them rolled on the grounds.
Thanks to it for being his cushion, the damage wasn't so awful.
He noticed a fair amount of health points departed from his health bar.
"Crimson," Cinde uttered his name. Although it was only training, she couldn't help feeling worried.
"It was fine. He did it on purpose to escape from being entangled by their encirclement," Rea followed up.
Cinde eyes darted to Rea then turned back to Crimson and noticed he was released from being surrounded.
"Y-you're right, Ella!"
Crimson did not wait to stabilize his footing, as the enemies were like hungry wolves racing after the prey in front of them.
He noticed them already at his face, looks like while he was rolling, they didn't freeze even a second and aggressively chased after him.
Using the combination of Sistela and the demon's mana, he coated his hands to increase the power of his hand's attacks for a little. It also raised his defense.
The fast-paced battle had resumed immediately. He had to engage them in an exchange of attacks.
Yman was barely evading the enemy's he even let the nonlethal attack land on him. As long as he avoided the approaching lethal attack. He immediately followed up with a counter.
As the fight grew longer, Rea noticed that Crimson was barely moving around.
'Could it be, he was so tired?' Well, it wasn't surprising, to be honest. He was fighting with multiple dummies every wave. And each dummy was not an easy opponent.

But she noticed that Crimson was barely receiving damage.
"Don't you think it's weird, Ella?" She suddenly heard the girl beside her say the words.
"What do you mean?" She replied with another question.
"Crimson seemed like… no, it seemed to me that he's getting used to the enemy's attack!"
'Getting used to the enemy's attack?' Rea repeated Cinde's words. "Do you mean… he adapted to the fight?" She asked while narrowing his eyes.
"Mhm!" Cinde nodded.
'Could it be, the reason that Her Majesty Aunt Elleana is so interested in him…?' Rea pondered.
Right at this moment, the dummies were barely hitting him. While his attacks landed squarely on each of them.
Cinde and Rea were so surprised to see him able to adapt quickly in a fight.
Even though it was clear that he was exhausted already, he was still able to monopolize his enemies.
His attacks became more accurate and his movements were so fluid that only a little twist of his body brought a huge impact on his dire situation.
It didn't take long that one after another, the dummies were screaming in agony. Although they didn't die on the spot, the accumulation of damages waned their life essence until their health points reached zero percent.
Just like the other dead dummies, their bodies turned to light particles. From hereon, the battle had become as easy as it was started.
Although humans weren't gifted with a high magical aura like the demihumans and they needed to use resonance with their Deities to stabilize the Hollow Cell within them, they were gifted with fighting adaptability.
Most humans had unique talents of having high adaptation ability. It was also the reason why most humans increased their Attributes while they were in the battle. It was a sign of having the ability of high adaptability. And Yman was one of those people.
Adaptability would be triggered when a person's instinct and experience would activate together.
And instinct would come in activation once a person screamed for survival within him. Mostly when he was facing a dire situation. The urge to survive was what drove him or her to minimally activate his instinct in the heat of the moment.
It was also the reason why most experts would be skeptical to follow up with another attack when their enemies in the last stroke of their life. Because it was the moment that their instinct was at the peak. Well, not all but some are. Especially an experienced fighter.
(So,)
Even at the moment that he was fighting with the monsters, his Attribute points had increased now and then. But most of these points would be back to normal once he calmed down.

Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder
I, Mick Chadwick, regret to inform my readers that this memoir contains nothing but the truth, which in the case of Tobias MacClain, most ridiculed as Pajama Boy, is far from pleasant. If you seek to relate to a hero more than to aspire to them and have the stomach for unpleasant things such as a hero left for dead, villainous scars, bomb threats, and murderous intent, then look no further. All of these gruesome things and more await from my research, and though I do not wish them on any man or woman, I cannot bear this burden on my own much longer. In the words of Tobias MacClain himself, "Sometimes, a villainous act can cause the greatest good." I hope that all my villainous acts of sneaking, blackmailing, diary-reading, and grave-digging, among others, will be redeemed as I present this complete and truthful memoir to the world, and with any luck, open eyes to the truth of what we call "villainy". Doctored Chance: The Unpleasant Preceding of "Pajama Boy" and What Drove Him to Murder ********* MATURE FILTER IS FOR:- violence- graphic imagery (blood, burns, fairly dark headspaces)- cartoon depiction of burn scars for visual aid Despite graphics, Mick Chadwick's writing keeps Mr. MacClain's terrible tale light somehow. This is foremostly a comedy.
