The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 184

Airi shifted her gaze to his hand and his face, seemingly wary of him. But she noticed that the person in front of her seemed to be not bad. In any case, he was Miss Ella's cousin.
She reached out with her hand also.
Although her hand was smooth and so tiny, Yman didn't give much thought about it and shook her hand while trying to wear his gentlest smile he could muster as to not startle her.
Cinder followed after him. "My name is Cinde Rayla, Miss Airi," she said with a wide smile.
"Hello, Miss Cinde."
"Cinde?" They heard Crimson's mutter.
"Mhm!" She nodded. "That's my real name," Cinde stated.
"Eh! Cinder is not your real name?" He asked with a surprised face.
"Of course, not! Cinder is just a codename for the competition," she asserted.
"....."
Yman was a little surprised. No wonder Rea was calling her Cinde all this time. Though it wasn't a big issue for him to take into account.
Beside them, Rea was silent while sighing at him. 'This Eyma didn't even bother knowing it…' she thought.
"Right. Miss Airi, where is the backyard you mentioned earlier?"
He asked when he remembered her words awhile ago. He glanced around the building but he could not find him.
"UH, Crimson, what she meant is to the mountain," Rea said while pointing to the far mountain that could be seen in the distance.
"Hm, I see."
Since the professor wasn't there yet, Airi decided to tour them inside the lab.
When they entered, he and the others were surprised that inside the rundown building was opposite to what they expected; although different kinds of materials that were needed for alchemy could be seen everywhere, they were well-arranged on the glass shelves and some on the table.

He sighed in relief upon seeing it. At least he didn't need to do a cleaning. It must be Miss Airi who arranged them, he thought.
He saw different kinds of rare stones, metals, and herbs displayed on the wall, seemingly a collection for display. Although it looked like a rundown building outside, it looked fine and comfortable inside.
A set of sofas was even in the corner. And a small glass table was in the middle of it.
But what took his attention was the liquid in one of the glasses that were on the tabletop. It was shining like it was pulsifying, then different kinds of colors would surface now and then. He could also perceive magical energy from it.
"Miss Airi, what are those?" He was mystified by it and decided to ask her.
"Ah that, it's my newly made magical drink!" She excitedly stated.
"A magical drink? Could it be an elixir?"
"Kind of…"
"A Booster Elixir? Or healing? Or could it be an antidote?"
"Eh? Uh, it doesn't fall to any of that category."
"What do you mean Miss Airi?"
He was pondering if there was any other category besides those he just said.
"Could it be the Elixir Of Resistance?" He muttered.
"Nah… not that as well."
"....." Crimson fell silent. Aside from those he just said the other elixirs fell in the category of Healing Elixir -- like the Mana and Health Replenishment. Even the vitality and stamina fell to the healing category as well.
Seeing the bafflement on his face, Airi said in hesitation: "I-it's a Body Tampering Elixir."
"Body Tampering…" he repeated while tilting his head. He tried to remember if there was an elixir with that category. But after a couple of seconds, he still could not remember any.

"Miss Airi, what's the difference for it, from the other elixirs?" Yman asked with a curious face.
Seeing someone interested in it, Airi's eyes started to shine as she started a passionate explanation about the Body Tampering Elixir of hers.
After several minutes of explaining, "an elixir to evolve one's body in which the one who's using it can evolve in a more efficient and powerful outcome? This truly wonderful creation!" Crimson exclaimed.
"Yeah!"
However, this sounds familiar to him: "Hmm….." he was pondering.
'Isn't there some kind of ancient stories about it?' If his memories served him right, on the AS continent, in the CH country, some story about cultivating one's spirit or soul was once popular in the Lost Era.
Based on the story, the body tampering was the beginning of cultivating one's soul and spirit.
'Could it be Miss Airi used it as a reference?' He thought.
"Uhm, Miss Airi, do you….. perhaps read an ancient human story about Soul and Spirit Cultivation?" Crimson asked with his fingers on his chin.
"Soul and Spirit Cultivation? No, I don't read any stories about it. I'm not even a fan of reading storybooks. I rather read some books about alchemy," she said in honesty.
"I see," he replied and thought: 'Could it be a coincidence?'
He noticed Airi's doubtful gaze.
"Regardless, is this elixir a perfect outcome, Miss Airi?" After asking it, he saw her disgruntled face as she sighed in dismay.
"Ahaha…" he laughed descendingly. It looked like he overreacted after hearing the Body Tampering words. It made him excited and forgot those things were just a fantasy story from the Lost Era. And in actuality, there's no such method to do it.
'Based on her explanation, perhaps, Airi named it as Body Tampering because of the permanent effect this elixir can bring to the user.'
'It truly a wonderful elixir if perfected.'
'Wait! A body tampering?'
"Miss Airi! You said a while ago that it can reform a body?!" He exclaimed when it came to his mind.
"Eh!" She was taken aback by his sudden exclamation. Even Cinde and Rea were baffled by his sudden outburst. They glanced at him with stunned faces. "Y-yes!" Airi replied after a stun.
"What of it?" She followed a question.
"So is it possible to bring back the broken Magician's Seed to function?" He asked in haste.
"?", Airi thought for a second, then said: "Sorry, I don't think it can."
"Sorry, I don't think it can."
"Sorry, I don't think it can."
Her reply reverberated for a couple of times in his ears.
They noticed him suddenly turned glum. With his eyes lost their sheen.

A spiraling doom awaits the world of Isulia. **************** I put the gore warning not because my book is overly gory (It's not constantly blood and guts). However, there are several moments that are extremely violent. I've always loved shows/movies such as, (The Expanse, The Boys, Banshee, Kingdom of heaven, Vikings, Attack on Titan, Baccano, etc.) I am descriptive of the scenes with violence. So be warned :) I've worked long and hard and have finally finished my third draft. Still needs work but everything storywise is complete. There are still a few things I need to add and tweak. Grammatical errors and flushing out the characters and dialogue still needs work. If you see any errors or plot holes, please feel free to point them out. It helps me improve upon the story. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect. But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer. What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots. And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer. So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.

Reincarnated as a Warlock with zero skill
My previous life was just as boring as yours. I was a marketing manager for a flooring company. The biggest challenge? Would the latest colour be called "Grey Oak" or "Oak Grey". Then, tragedy. I was struck down in the prime of my life by a negligent delivery driver and a pallet of laminate flooring - which is significantly heavier than you think. So there I was, smeared on the floor, absorbed in my own self pity. Where would I go? Heaven? Hell. Did I care? Apparently that was not what fate had in store for me. Reborn in a world of dragons and fantasy, I became a Warlock. A pretty darn important one too. The problem, I had little to no affinity to magic and I spent most of my time doing my best to avoid danger. Danger however, would not avoid me. So, with my new life as an amazing Warlock you'd think it would be easy street right? Wrong. Forces gather to move against the Kingdom I am sworn to protect and, whilst my inward allegiance is to whomever is the victor, outwardly I must lead the resistance against the invaders. With my skilled companions Asha - a mage that can actually do magic and Torg - a swordsman sworn to protect me, I can only hope that they distract the enemy long enough for me to run away.
