"What the hell was that?!" Screamed the person with dog ears.

"He could even cancel a spirit beast?!"Asked the person with narrowed eyes and wolf ears.

"Did my eyes play tricks on me?!"Said the girl with raccoon ears.

Most of the people inside the room exclaimed randomly in surprise.

The Knight-Captain Borge Bergal wrinkled his face. It was unbelievable even for him that someone was able to cancel a spirit beast.

"Aunt?" Ella called out. 'It seemed what happened recently was real. That guy did cancel an attack! How could he do that? I wonder what level his current Grace power is,' She thought.

"Fufu," Laura giggled, "Unexpectedly, he could not only cancel some simple attacks but even a spirit beast. Although it was only a rank 1 spirit beast, to cancel it is already beyond belief. That newbie is a wielder of unique ability," She said to her niece who was staring at her with a face that was full of questions.

"Unique ability?" She repeated.

Laura nodded her head. She could not explain the newbie's ability. She had no idea what it was, but she felt it wasn't ordinary.

Beside her, Ella heard her friend muttering.

"H-He's not only handsome but also has an interesting ability," said Hannah with gleaming eyes. Ella forced a chuckle from her words of admiration.

Ellias and Gilion countenance turned sour.

Anyhow, Vince's friends seemed to be unbothered by it.

Vince gritted his teeth.

"Eat this shit!"

KREKKKKKK!!

Everyone's attention returned back to the duel when Vince shouted and jumped higher in the air then consecutively sent golden-colored electrifying spears towards the newbie.

Seeing the incoming 10-15 electrifying spears, most of the spectators cheered once again.

"Woah! A high ranking spell!"

"That's overkill for sure!"

Some people shouted.

A second later,

Bang, bang, bang...!

It was followed by loud consecutive explosions that reverberated inside the training room.

Everyone fell silent once again when the newbie was enveloped by smoke caused by the explosion.

However, they could discern a person's shadow inside the smoke. It was standing without making any move, though, they could feel him alive.

They wondered if he was too beat-up to move.

Maybe Vince overdid it. Although they noticed some of the spears disappeared when the newbie waved his hand to protect himself, he was not able to cancel all of them.

Everyone admired that Vince was quick-witted in thinking of a way to render useless his enemy's ability.

Vince on the other hand stopped his barrage of attacks. It wasn't good if he accidentally killed the newbie in the presence of the empire's knight captain, headmaster, and the others.

Everyone expected a beat-up face when the smoke finally cleared up.

However, they saw him standing still.

"Damn it, is that newbie an immortal?!"

"Not even a tiny wound is visible!"

"Forget about the wound! Not even his clothes have a scratch!"

Vince knitted his brows and his face started to grim. It was impossible that he canceled all those attacks.

Not only Vince could not believe that this newbie was able to cancel those barrage of attacks, even the knight captain and Headmaster Laura also did.

In truth, Yman only canceled those which might bring greater damage to him. Hence, he was hit by the explosions from the other spears. But with his healing ability, it seemed like nothing happened to him. And to further fool his enemy, he had to cancel his resonance with Sistela and use it again so that the torn part of his clothes returned back to normal. This was the power of System Update. Well, at the moment Sistela was already a level 7 System Deity. He updated her frequently whenever he had extra money. Because a high-level deity brings many benefits to its user. More stats also added to him when they were in resonance.

Ella and Hannah widened their eyes. On the contrary, Gilion and Ellias narrowed their eyes.

Seeing the newbie without a little damage, Vince's friends finally took interest in the duel.

"You!" Vince shouted. Then he gnashed his teeth. It seemed like no matter what kind of ability he threw to this newbie nothing would succeed. 'This is bad,' he thought to himself. If the fight lingered longer, the headmaster would certainly think he was incapable!

He summoned more energy on his hands. Out of sudden, his left arm was covered by dense golden aura while his right was covered by dense ruby aura.

Everyone bulged their eyes while staring at him.

Vince tapped his hands on the floor of the training grounds.

"Earth Shaker - Twin Crush!" He shouted.

The ground trembled then it split and the crack ran towards his enemy.

They also noticed something glowed in the cracks, looks like it wasn't an ordinary crack. It rapidly shot towards Yman.

A second before it reached him, a crimson-colored aura burst out from his body and formed into a thin-layered transparent shield of about 12 inches away surrounding him.

The glowing-crack stopped when it bumped the thin layer shield.

Everyone was dumbfounded that even the ground attacked was useless against that newbie.

"Having a reliable mana source is quite convenient," Yman muttered under his breath.

'Yeah, I know — don't worry we will find some way to cover the cons of it," he replied via thought communication.

Nonetheless, Yman noticed the training floor was already restored. Looks like some high-level spell was cast on this whole room.

Yman smirked at his enemy. Then he shook his head while spreading his hand, looking disappointed at the enemy, "Haahh, that's it?" He sighed asking.

Looking at his enemy showing disappointment to him, Vince's anger was visible on his face. Summed-up by the murmurs coming from the audience saying that he was about to lose from a newbie.

Vince took a ring from his spatial storage.

"Grace!" He shouted once again, then the ring in his hand glowed in golden color. But the same as before, it was absorbed in his body.

A moment later, 2 diamonds were visibly embedded on his forehead. His hair changed color too. It became white.

Yman felt the pressure wasn't right. Then he heard the spectators shouted.

"Vince is serious now!" Said one of Vince's friends.

"Look, he used a rank 2 artefact!" One person pointed to Vince.

The Knight-Captain Borge Bergal narrowed his eyes and muttered, "That newbie made a very big mistake in provoking his enemy."

A golden werewolf appeared on Vince left and the Venomous Mouse appeared on his right.

"Dang it, this Vince can uphold two spirit beasts at the same time! No wonder he's a gold rank adventurer!"

"Mhm, looks like the fight is about to end, kukuku," said Gilion.

"Right, although that other guy has an extreme defensive ability, his weakness was clear as day," added Ellias, then he sighed.

Hannah knitted his brows, "What do you mean, Ellias?"

Ella gazed at Hannah. "He must be talking about how that guy did not use any attacks since the fight started. Probably he was waiting only to tire out his opponent. Maybe his ability and attributes were focused mainly on his defense," explained Ella.

"As expected of the princ— ah I mean Miss Ella..." said Ellias in a hurry. He was about to call her princess. Ella and the others sighed. He immediately said his sorry.

Their eyes returned back to the duel when they heard a warcry coming from the gold rank adventurer.

They saw him rushing rapidly towards the handsome young man together with his two spirit beasts.

"Looks like Vince decided to bring the fight in a melee since the newbie can cancel all his ranged attacks. In this regard, even if the newbie cancels the two-spirit beasts with him, as long as he has enough mana with him, he can recreate them," the headmaster said.

Everyone who heard her looked at her. Then they thought, 'He really was a smart guy!'

Everyone cheered in elation. This was the exciting part and Vince did some witty moves.

They knew that those spears were decoys only to fool the newbie. Most of them were waiting for the Butt-Slapping Technique of Vince.

They wanted to see this handsome newbie in an embarrassing situation.

When Vince and his spirit beasts entered at 5 meters distance away from that person,

A loud sound of crashing reverberated inside the underground training ground.

Everyone had slack-jawed and immediately fell silent while staring at the front with wide-eyes, and with their mouths shut.

Vince was slammed to the floor by an invisible force. His spirit beasts were nowhere to be seen. They disappeared like bubbles.

Vince pushed his body, but everyone noticed his difficulty in getting up. His arms and body were trembling. It seemed like something was pushing him down. Actually, at the moment, strong pressure was pressing onto him. And he felt like he was being stared at by a being far beyond him.

"W-what happened?" Someone among the crowd muttered a question.

The knight captain frowned.

Everyone was puzzled by the scared look on Vince's face while staring at the newbie.

"What the heck?!" One of Vince's friends screamed.

And another one asked, "Is Vince just acting?"

"Aunt? What happened?" Ella asked Laura, but she noticed her Aunt's disbelieving face while staring at that person with great surprise.

"It can't be. He could even use an in...ti...midation?" Said Laura in surprise.

"Intimidation? That's impossible. Only the elders had the ability to unlock such skill!" Gilion disagreed.

But how could he explain what his eyes were seeing at the moment? It was clear by the expression written on the face of Vince that he was scared of something. And an invisible pressure was pressing him on the ground.

Their ears picked an unhurried stepping sound. They saw that person finally move from his position. This was the first time he made a step. He was walking towards his enemy who was on his four. While trying to push his body upward.

They saw the gold rank adventurers who couldn't even look directly at his newbie enemy.

Everyone had question marks on their heads. Even the knight captain could not believe it. But he and the Headmaster Laura Agila knew what kind of skill the young man was using. And it was also what bugged them most.

All the people who were watching at the moment saw the newbie move behind Vince who was still on his four limbs lying on the floor.

Vince felt something bad when he noticed the wide-grin on his enemy's face. He tried to shout to give up, but his mouth couldn't even produce any sounds.

A moment later, everyone gawked in disbelief.

Their eyes turned dot — when the newbie kicked the butt of the gold ranking adventurer Vince!

The pitiful yelp of him was like a creepy scream to those who heard it.

"What a merciless man!" Ella screamed while covering her face with her hands but her eyes were peeking on the gap of her fingers. Hannah on the other hand had a blank face.

Everyone prayed for Vince's fast mental recovery.
