The Mysterious Black Magician Chapter 46

Reflected in his eyes the shining image of the Evil Rat that was undergoing an evolution phase.
The brilliance that envelopes its body had even brightened the place a little.
Tsk! Yman as he gnashed his teeth. Never in his wildest dream to be able to see an actual evolution phase of a beast.
Seemingly, beasts or monsters will undergo an evolution phase when their battle experience reached a certain threshold.
Currently, Yman was downed on his butt on the cold pavement ground, while staring at the Evil Rat in surprised and without batting an eye.
Sistela's voice rang in his ears which made him snapped from the shock and pulled him back to reality.
He did not even notice his health points which now short of 150 points. After the tail whip attacked that landed on his back, -150 health points were taken from his health bar.
He certainly questioned his luck. If seeing it from a different perspective, he might be lucky for witnessing such a rare event. But the situation he had at the moment was not favorable to him! And could only be considered as bad luck.
Yman's face twitched. He was thinking if he would run away and escape. Decisively, he already made a decision.
A dagger materialized in his hand when he summoned his Cyber Storage and clicked on a dagger icon in it. After clicking the dagger icon, he quickly chose the [Take] choices that could be seen popping out after. With his well-practiced hand, all of this had happened in an instant only.
A dagger of about 10 inches in length had magically materialized in his hand.
Without waiting for the evolution phase to complete, Yman resolutely threw the dagger in hand.
Even though his dexterity attributes were low, within a distance of 7 steps away, he was confident that his throw would not miss.
As expected, the dagger flew and tore-up the space between them in an instant. Its tip landed on the intended area with a whoosh, but... unbelievably, the dagger was seemingly hit an unknown barrier when it bounced back and was repelled.
Yman knitted his brows. Anxious by uncertainties.
He noticed that some unseen force was protecting it.
He scanned his storage to find something that might help him. Yet, he finds nothing that could help. He looks around him and saw the still anchored spear protruded on the ground. It was located at 7 steps behind him, slightly at his right.

He promptly jumped on his feet and ran towards it. With his 1 percent breakthrough of his limiter and with the addition of resonance with his deity, his agility attributes were high enough to reach this distance in below 2 seconds time.
He firmly held the spear-pole and exerted strength to uproot it. Noticing that it was tightly dug in the ground and would only budge a little, he wobbled it promptly at any directions with the intention of loosing it from being anchored.
Underneath, the laying corpse of the Evil Rat that was pierced by it had made undefined movements.
The noises of metal and ground scraping tickled his ears.
Yman glanced at his back to where the evolving beast. His eyes balled upon seeing that the Evil Rat had now looked different.
He noticed its image was already different from before. It grew taller. Based on how he sees it, the Evil Rat seemed to be standing on its 2 limbs as a human did!
Even the name 'Evil Rat' on top of its red bar had started to blur, and a new name was about to happen.
Beads of sweats surfaced on his forehead. He could even feel his breathing that started to become heavier. His stamina was deliberately declining.
He heard Sistela's anxious voice demanding him to run. But Yman did not react, nor did he replied? No. He remained quiet and focus. Only the hard breathing sounds were discernable from him.
A few moments later,
Shing! Such sounds were heard by him when the spear tip had successfully unburied from the ground. Getting rid of the corpse that was pierced by it, he briefly kicked on it.
The corpse rolled away after a kicked from him.
Yman held the spear in his hand and walked towards the evolving beast. He was holding the spear relatively close on its tip and was dragging the opposite end that scraping the ground.
When he reached at 5 steps away from the evolving beast, he held the spear comfortably in two hands and rushed to the beast while pointing the tip on it to it.
Haaaaaaa! He screamed out loud which signifies his courageous charge, summoning all his strength in the body into one hasty stab with all he has.
Sistela's from demanding to pleading voice was heard by him.
However, Yman already had the resolute to fight it now. If not now then not later also. It would be impossible for him to defeat it when it matured. It's better to strike it now that it was still on its shell.

No. It was already out of its shell!
Swoosh!
The stabbed attack hit an empty air! The Evil Rat had gone from its supposed position. It jumped high in the air away from him. When its feet landed on the ground, it was already at 10 meters distance away from him.
Sighed.
|Well, stabbing a newborn chick is okay too.| Yman as he thought. His face already showed tiredness. He just walked not so far and killed one Evil Rat but he already gasping for breath. Getting hit was also demanding in stamina.
He knows that the enemy had become more agile. And the battle would become more difficult to him from this point onward.
Certainly, there was also a choice of forfeiting the mission. But it also meant that he was incapable of accomplishing such a lowest ranking mission and becomes a more of a laughing stock from the others. Although it could not be considered as a lowly mission anymore, with the appearance of this evolved beast.
But the unknowing people would only believe what their eyes had seen. So basically, even if he reported it, they would only think that he made up things and that he was just afraid and so.
It may cause more unwanted attention to himself which already made him so sick. And they might suggest to him to hire mercenary to help him accomplished the mission. However, Yman was not a money bag. He was in a tight situation financially.
Hiring mercenary would come with a price that depends on the mercenary rank.
"Heh!" He scoffed after seeing the new name that appeared above the enemy's health bar.
Noble Rat was written in an exchange for the Evil Rat. He was sure that right now, this enemy had already evolved into a Wanderer rank D+ beast.
He certainly wondering why such a noble name was on a gross rat! He then followed another rushed.
Anyhow, no matter what he whined about would not change the fact that he was currently facing a Wanderer type monster alone!
Right at this moment that Yman was fighting the evolved Evil Rat, inside the academy, Kesha was dragging the still in fantasy Almina in the hallway. She was dragging her towards the room for the chosen Elite trainees together with their deities.
The hallway seemed empty since this top floor of fledgling trainee building was for the chosen Elite trainees only.
"W-W-Wait Kesha..." Almina called out while trying to free her hand that was held by her best friend Kesha.
Cal and Kesha's deity was floating beside the two girls with a bead of sweat that appeared on their round body. Why not on their small heads though?
"No. We need to hurry. Else, we will be late in the meeting. The others are already gathered there. Even the blonde already there too." Kesha firmly stated.
Almina sighed and said: "Hah. Why you even mentioned her. In any case, what's the point of dragging me? I also was planning to go!"
Cal and Kesha's deity had the same thought.
"Eh? But your mind is flying everywhere and screaming while burying yourself with the pillow!" Kesha replied.
"Wha—, erm... I - I am okay now," Almina said shyly yet her face showed rosy red. She really was planning to get a mission in the barracks but Kesha went into her room with a piece of news about a meeting with all the Elite trainees.
Creak!
When they opened the door of the room, all of the other Elite trainees were already in there, sitting around the round table in the middle of the room.
They now staring at the two who just happened to open the door.
An old lady was standing facing the window with its back facing the Elites.
Almina noticed some familiar faces inside the room. It was Keremi and the blonde.
They then proceeded to seat on the vacant chairs which made some creaking noises.
She noticed the blonde girl staring at her. Almina replied with a sharp glance at her.
Right now, 10 chairs were surrounding the round table but only 9 was taken with extra one empty seat.
"Looks like, everyone is already here." Said the old woman after Almina and Kesha took their seat.
This old woman was one of the elders, Elder Paan to be specific.
